05/10/2025: The rooms were remarkably small and dark. Although the hotel description advertised a TV for the standard room, there was none. When I spoke to reception on the day of departure, they were very surprised. There was no discount. Breakfast was only available for an additional charge and only from 9 a.m. There were a lot of cats on the property that jumped around you and, when you ate something, sometimes jumped onto the table and begged for food.

05/10/2025: We were absolutely thrilled. We stayed there for three days. It's not easy to stand upright. The pool and bar were amazing. One small downside: the baguettes 🥖 weren't available until around 9:30.

23/10/2025: You'd think the newcomers had been feasting and drinking there for centuries. A wonderful, ancient ambiance—a wine press at least 400 years old. Very friendly, very competent, and quite old hosts. I'm glad I stopped there—it was very nice and delicious in a historic setting!

18/10/2025: A pleasant surprise. We stumbled upon this tavern by chance, and I must say, sometimes you hit the spot. The two very friendly owners surprised us with both the food and their friendliness. Everything was top-notch...very good!

30/07/2025: Very nice and pleasant place, fast and friendly service. We went for the pizza, but there's also a fish and meat menu. The thin-crust pizza with a light and digestible dough is very good.

10/11/2025: A highly pretentious place, with exorbitant prices and completely arrogant staff. You sit down and, looking at the menu, you already know they're pulling your leg. Then, when the food actually arrives, you're almost shocked by their blind belief that they're giving you an "experience." The experience they sold me was waiting 45 minutes for a paltry raw fish. It doesn't take a genius to figure out that there's something wrong with such a wait for such a dish, and when I asked the owner about the delay, I was told with a fake smile to be patient, followed by a loud snort, as if she wanted to let me know. When the dish arrived, the first thing I noticed was that it was literally served on a mirror, which is supposed to give the impression that the fish was still fresh (?). As I'm used to, raw fish is served on ice, which keeps it fresh, not with a mirror (even the crappiest all-you-can-eat restaurants have figured this out). Needless to say, the quality didn't even begin to reflect the incredibly high price of the products I was served, which were also served with knives stained with something reminiscent of tomato. Highly discouraged, and reading the other reviews of this place, I can tell you that either you don't know how to eat or they made them themselves.

06/11/2025: I was looking for a restaurant to give a raw fish dinner as a gift. We were magically transported into a fairytale. It didn't even feel like we were in the city center. The welcome was very courteous, as was the rest of the service. The chef was truly friendly and helpful. The dishes were so delicious they couldn't even be described. Each type of fish had a different flavor, true flavor! It's truly impossible to give a single rating, because everything was sublime.

07/10/2025: Maybe I got it on the wrong day, the pulled pork meatballs were semi-liquid inside, the pan pizza was a very tall focaccia and very oily on the bottom, the goulash is a typically savoury and spicy dish but this one was exaggeratedly so so I didn't like it, furthermore the meat had some sinewy parts, the table was without the classic tablecloth and the oval dessert plates were visibly chipped.

31/10/2025: A seafood restaurant that's nothing short of spectacular! The food at Vergari is truly excellent: everything is carefully thought out, from the welcome to the dishes to the atmosphere. We ordered mixed fried fish, which was good but a little dry in some places—no big deal, because the flavor was excellent and the quality of the fish was evident. Then we ordered two seafood centerpieces: one very large and generous, designed for two people (but easily enough for two hungry people!), and another for one, also beautifully presented and delicious. The dishes were generous, served with care and using the freshest ingredients. You can tell there's passion and attention to quality behind them. The service was perfect, truly top-notch: the staff were kind, professional, and always attentive to every need, without ever being intrusive. The restaurant's design also deserves special mention—modern, refined, elegant, yet welcoming. As for the prices, I have to say they're fair, especially considering the location: we're in San Foca, a tourist area where prices are often higher, but here the quality-price ratio is truly excellent. In conclusion, I give Ristorante Vergari a full 5 stars: a place where you can eat the freshest, highest-quality fish, with impeccable service, a beautiful location, and fair prices.
