One of the best meals we had in Perugia and the best lamb cutlets I think I’ve ever had - delicious with a laurel/sage sauce.

13/03/2025: Fantastic experience. I stayed at the Carfagna Sandro Country House from 3 to 7 March 2024 together with my wife for vacation. Excellent welcome, quiet location, wonderful view of adjacent Assisi (reachable on foot in 15 minutes), location in an old renovated farmhouse, very comfortable room and bed (in memory), spotlessly clean room (daily towel change). Super breakfast and dinner with (among other things) excellent meat grilled very well by the friendly owner. Furthermore there are 50/60 trotting horses complete with a training track!! Beautiful!! We'll be back! Thanks to all the lovely Carfagna family

01/03/2025: We didn't eat well. Very cooked Crescentine (brown), thick tagliatelle, mixed grilled meat with 2 pieces of bacon, 1 not tender rib, 1 good rib and 1 sausage (we were not satisfied). The desserts, although traditional, did not reflect the traditional recipe. It's a shame because it was a regular stop for family dinners. I hope it was just an evening gone wrong...

04/03/2025: The food was delicious, innovative recipes and perfect combinations of flavors including sweet and savory. The first time I was there it was so satisfying that I went back for dinner afterwards. Varied appetizers, creative first courses, tasty second courses from local cuisine and very pleasant desserts. Overall, a great culinary experience.

04/03/2025: I had a terrible experience. Arriving close to midnight, I contacted the hotel in advance with my itinerary and train arrival time, and they said a late check-in was no problem. But when I got to the hotel, it was locked with all the lights off, and there was no answer to the repeated doorbells and phone calls (what if there were an emergency at the hotel or to the guests?). Other hotels were all closed after midnight, and it was scary and frustrating to be left in the dark street with no place to go. Fortunately, one hotel answered my phone call, and then I had to walk a long distance in rain with heavy luggage. It was after 1AM, when I finally entered a room to rest. The hotel provided a confusing excuse that seemed to mean that there was a mistake. I am sure that it was a mistake, but the "mistake" violated the very basic trust of the guest and, more seriously, could have endangered female travelers. I advise against staying at this hotel.

27/03/2025: I don't even know where to start. Everything was a masterpiece. The road to get there is certainly not easy for those who are used to the city but we assure you that it will be worth it! We arrived at Le Mandrie as part of our little honeymoon thanks to a gift box. I had seen this place briefly and luckily I went back to have a look. The place is fabulous, a REAL agriturismo, where you can: - eat local products but above all all homemade, exquisite like we have never tasted - sleep in a bedroom that smells of history, sober and elegant in its rural being - wake up with the blackbirds singing their joy in the park immediately behind your window, a protected park rich in fauna and flora (in the evening we saw a roe deer on the main road!). Everything is truly genuine, simple, personally if I could I would have lived here willingly, even worked here: Rino's enthusiasm truly welcomed us, enveloped us and enchanted us. He knows what he's doing and he does it well, it didn't take him long to convince us to choose them for dinner, which we are grateful for (you already knew we would be happy, right dear Rino?). The dishes were delicious, the portions were right, no frills to present flavors that already smelled amazing. The oil of this place is sublime, as are the cheeses. The waiting staff was attentive and courteous, as well as very friendly... thanks to Marco for his gallantry and professionalism, and also Andrea for his knowledge about the products on sale at the entrance, which we obviously purchased. Dinner paid 62.50 euros for 2 appetizers, 1 first course, 1 second course, 1 side dish, service charge and water, bread, craft beer by the glass. We consider it a fair amount since it is all made by them, organic and genuine, in an environment that feels like home! The breakfast was almost the most beautiful, so quiet, slow, and again all home-made products or at most local... so we bought the gianduia cream based on oil and also the "Ideale" oil, amazing, a wild pork salami and another sweet thing for home, thanks to a second Marco for having looked after us and for the two chats at breakfast. We have read some not very nice reviews, and we can't understand what these people had in their heads to be able to write so much nonsense. We highly recommend this wonderful place, and we hope to return too, the end ❤️

25/03/2025: although visited many times before and satisfied, we now had a terrible experience, the service was very unprofessional, disorganised and bad. In the adjacent room there was a very long table with many American guests and obviously caught all the attention of the staff. We had to call the staff (meaning walking to the other room) on several occasions asking for service. Furthermore there was a confusion about the order which could have easily been dealt with by asking instead of assuming.. the result is that food for two of the four guests where warmed up in order to serve the main course for us (4) at the same time..

02/02/2025: Abbiamo scelto questo ristorante perché passando ho letto che proponevano l’uovo morbido .. e questo è stato solo l’inizio una cena perfetta il personale quanto di più professionale non potevamo trovare molto attenti e precisi; per quello che riguarda la cena siamo saliti di livello al di là del mio uovo che ha superato ampiamente le mie aspettative, mio marito ha preso un fuori menù un piccione in 3 cotture che lo ha lasciato senza parole .. cosa dire un ristorante dove torneremo volentieri.. peccato non sia a roma
