We dined at Il Mulino without a reservation, at the last minute, enchanted by the location. Next to a small stream, surrounded by a nearby forest, illuminated by fairy lights and the glow of the stars, with a beautiful outdoor portico and classic pink stone structure. It was a pleasant evening spent in a place far from the chaos of Assisi, reminiscent of nature and traditional cuisine. I would definitely return!

Last night we went to eat in this really characteristic place, we ate very well (I recommend the pasta with truffle). The lady who served us was kind, friendly and helpful.

The place is beautiful and the food is delicious. We started with an appetizer for two, which was more than enough for three. The ingredients were very good. Then came the delicious first courses, with balanced flavors and local products. I didn't give it 5 stars because I didn't get to try the second courses...we'll gladly return. The desserts are top-notch.

Every time I go to Assisi, I stop to eat at this osteria. I have to say, this last visit was particularly enjoyable! The only downside: the parking lot, which isn't on-site and is a bit out of the way and poorly lit. That said, this osteria is still a great choice!

Recommended by Google, spot on. Free parking is available on-site, and it's located next to the paid entrance to the Bosco di San Francesco. We were here on a Saturday (during the exposition of the remains of San Francesco), and luckily the weather was nice, allowing us to eat outside in the beautiful setting, so the kids could play freely on the lawn. Excellent food, appetizers to share, and generous first courses. Unfortunately, the service isn't very responsive; we had to wait quite a while to ask for additional dishes or even the bill. In fact, we couldn't even order dessert because we'd been sitting at the table for two hours and ran out of time. It's a shame, but maybe we'll be back.

We wanted to walk in the San Francesco woods, and after asking for information at the ticket office, they recommended this osteria. We arrived just around lunchtime. The place—we ate outside—was wonderful. We had an appetizer, a first course, two delicious eggplant parmigiana, vegetarian meatballs, and baked potatoes. We couldn't resist dessert, and the orange cake was worth it. Everything was delicious, especially since I'm vegetarian, and I found plenty of options. I highly recommend it.

13/04/2026: Very nice place. Excellent burgers, risottos, and appetizers, especially the Cantabrian anchovies with burrata. Claudia and Gaia are very hospitable. Pets are welcome.
10/04/2026: Great restaurant! The food was delicious and the staff was very kind. We were also allowed to bring our dog. I would really recommend this restaurant.

09/01/2026: Some meals stay with you, and this was one of them. From the moment we arrived we felt warmly welcomed, and that feeling stayed with us throughout the whole evening. We began with the arancini, which were simply exceptional — crisp on the outside and full of flavour inside. The pasta with cavolo nero was deeply comforting and beautifully balanced. For mains, the veal cheek was outstanding: meltingly tender, rich and soulful, while the mixed grill was perfectly cooked, full of flavour and seasoned with real care and respect for the ingredients. Dessert was just as special. The orange parfait was fresh and elegant, and the homemade dessert of the day was a true little surprise — simple, honest and delicious, just like the food you hope to find in a place like this. What really makes this restaurant shine is the people. The staff were genuinely kind, attentive and proud of what they serve. Combined with a lovely selection of local wines and a warm, relaxed atmosphere, it felt like discovering a little hidden gem in Assisi. This is the kind of place you remember long after the meal is finished. Highly, highly recommended ❤️
