18/06/2025: We had a wonderful evening with outstanding food and a very pleasant atmosphere! The fresh truffle pasta and excellent meat dishes are highly recommended. And for dessert, be sure to try the homemade tiramisu with lemon zest. Excellent! One tiny star deducted because you can't sit outside.

16/06/2025: We have been to Siena several times over the years and this a firm favourite during our trips. At least one dinner and sometimes two per stay. Family run and you might meet all of them in the evening. Great food and variety on the menu. The Florentine steaks look mighty! Britte (co owner) has a great sense of humour and pops backwards and forwards to check that all is well during the meal. Great wine selection. Just beside Santa Caterina car park and very close to the escalator. Firmly recommend.

07/05/2025: Wonderful staff, spectacular pizza chef (both him and the pizza). The cuisine is simple but refined; top quality ingredients that make any dish excellent. The rustic setting perfectly frames the typical gastronomy. I particularly recommend Carlo's appetizers, the tordelli, the pizza and the tiramisu. Well done, well done, well done!

18/05/2025: The experience was fantastic. I went to lunch with a friend on vacation to Florence. The food was spectacular, and the service was also very good and attentive. Finally, on the terrace, you can enjoy a beautiful view of a Renaissance square.

18/05/2025: Lunch on the terrace, with a great atmosphere and beautiful views. My friend Francesco and I enjoyed a good wine and some pastries while the rain saturates the scene. A fucking fantastic moment 👌. We actually drank quite a bit of wine, but the experience would have been just as good. For dessert, tiramisu and mille foglie. Bravo!

25/05/2025: Mezzelune alla pratese (ravioli stuffed with mortadella with butter and sage) and tagliata with truffle and mixed herbs. A superb dinner. Fantastic kindness of the staff. 10/10 compliments. To conclude, do not miss the peach of Prato - sweet surprise! Very nice location - in the center.

24/05/2025: Excellent food in this lovely Prato restaurant. High quality at an excellent price. The food was the highlight, but other notable elements include being able to accommodate a large group, and the plates had an image of the owner / chef on them which was very cool! I'd return here on a future trip.

03/06/2025: siamo capitati qui per caso, mentre eravamo di passaggio tornando da Viareggio. abbiamo trovato un locale super accogliente, qualità del cibo davvero sopra alla media considerando il prezzo, e personale super gentile. prima di mangiare ci sono stati illustrati i piatti e ci è stata presentata la storia dello chef in modo molto simpatico, e credetemi rende molto piacevole l’atmosfera. varietà di piatti del giorno davvero ampia. consigliatissimo.

19/05/2025: Beautiful place, characteristic and very welcoming, friendly and sunny waiters, excellent service, possibility of eating meat and fish, I chose the latter at a fixed price menu of €35 and I had a great time, the fish panzanella is excellent, the grilled prawns cooked very well, I am celiac I ate everything except fried food, maybe if it can be helpful also adapt to those who have allergy problems like me, it would have been the best, eating fried food for us is difficult but not impossible. Thanks for the good lunch, I recommend trying it.

17/05/2025: We found this place by chance on a Monday night, desperate to find a place to have dinner. It was the best food and the best experience in our 5-days Tuscany tour. Great service, great food and a cosy atmosphere… I hope we can visit this restaurant again.🙏

03/06/2025: We just enjoyed the most wonderful evening here! One of us is gluten free. We have been in Italy for 5 days and all the staff at Ristorante Hostaria Il Desco were the warmest, friendliest and most attentive we’ve experienced. The food was delicious! My husband who is not gluten free enjoyed the GF pasta with me as our primi and said he would not have known it wasn’t traditional pasta. The grilled steak, per our server’s suggestion, was fabulous! And the suggested house wine pairings were also delicious. I don’t write reviews normally but I was so touched by the hospitality here and to be so well treated as a gluten free diner is just so unique. All praise ! Grazie Mille!

10/06/2025: Everything we had was delicious and it was a fantastic dinner. My husband, who had been looking forward to trying this bistecca during our trip to Italy, seemed very satisfied. The two of us finished the entire 1.3kg bistecca. The staff were all friendly and provided efficient service. We also called several times but were unable to get through so we went without making a reservation, but they fill up quickly after opening, so if you don't have a reservation, it's essential to arrive before opening. If we ever get the chance to return to Florence, we'll definitely want to visit again!
