The food was very good, but the service was rather cold. We had to ask for dessert and coffee, as no one came to offer them to us.

A trattoria after my heart! If a welcoming, cozy restaurant, serving beautifully cooked, creative interpretations of Tuscan classics is your vibe, do visit here.
Located in a quiet street, a few minutes walk to the east of the historic centre, Trattoria Maga Magò is small but perfectly formed, as is the menu. We had burrata with tomato jelly - a total joy, an onion tart - sweet, flaky perfection, and smoked herring with a lightly pickled egg cutting through the oiliness. Tortellini with pear and gorgonzola was my favourite pasta dish of our trip, alongside the spicy carbonara, which is worth a visit on its own.
The service was warm and friendly, with the chef popping out to check on us as well.
