19/05/2025: Io e mio marito siamo stati per due sere consecutive a cena in questa trattoria che ci era stata segnalata dalla proprietaria del resort dove alloggiavamo… devo dire che il consiglio è stato azzeccato! Cibo semplice e cucinato con amore (non perdetevi la mousse di ricotta di pecora con miele e cantucci sbriciolati!) e personale simpatico e gentile. Una tappa qui e’ d’obbligo!

19/05/2025: Even before the evening opening I noticed that the entire restaurant team was having dinner together at one table. And that was the deciding factor. And it was a bull's eye. Friendly service, who took the time to talk not only about food. Wonderful dishes - vegetarian lasagna, pasta with goose for my wife and an extraordinary dessert with pecorino cheese. And wine from their own vineyard - during my week-long stay in Tuscany, definitely the best place we visited.

07/06/2025: Con il nostro centro diurno dalla provincia di Torino, siamo stati in soggiorno nei pressi di Piombino e abbiamo avuto il piacere di cenare da Balestra. La location è accogliente, curata nei dettagli e perfetta per trascorrere una serata in tranquillità. Il cibo è ottimo, preparato con attenzione e ingredienti di qualità. Una nota speciale va al signor Marco, che ci ha accolti con simpatia e disponibilità, facendoci sentire davvero i benvenuti. Un’esperienza molto positiva che consigliamo con piacere!

Being a historic panoramic restaurant with typical local dishes, we tried a platter of cured meats and cheeses with honey, tordelli with ragù, ravioli with speck, pappardelle with mushrooms, fried chicken which is one of their strong points - unmissable! - sliced ​​with rocket, sirloin with grilled vegetables. According to other customers, the tarte tatin was also extraordinary, but I wasn't able to try it. House red wine and white Preludio, valid. Fast and welcoming service from Marco and the exceptional staff. Panorama from the table of incredible beauty, you could see the sea at sunset even the island of Palmaria. The menu is a tribute to Florentine cuisine, with classic dishes prepared with fresh, quality ingredients. I had the pleasure of tasting gnudi, a simple but flavorful Tuscan specialty: soft, well-seasoned, with that perfect balance of ricotta and spinach that makes them irresistible. A dish that smells of home and tradition. The service is friendly, attentive but never intrusive, and the prices are fair for the quality offered and the central location. Recommended for those looking for an authentic experience in the heart of Florence, away from tourist restaurants and closer to the true Tuscan soul.

18/05/2025: Sunday lunch, excellent service, fast and impeccable, we had a trio of first courses, all 3 are definitely worth trying: Pappardelle with wild boar sauce Rice with mushrooms Casareccie Then the mixed roast, all very good!

23/05/2025: The food was delicious. The Aperol we ordered didn't have Prosecco or orange, just a little Aperol and a lot of soda on the rocks. The woman who greeted us wasn't friendly at all. She was very rude. Unhappy with the service, but the food was good.

18/05/2025: Despite our late visit, the young waiter was kind enough to help us with broken English, which I'm grateful for. I'm not sure if the clientele was local, but they were a little cold towards foreigners. All the food was delicious, and near the end of our meal, someone who seemed to be the owner came to our table to say hello. I'd definitely like to go again.

03/06/2025: Not recommended for tourists. The menu is in Italian, and when we asked if there was an English translation, we were met with a provocative "why?" After we explained, almost justifying our decision, that we were from Germany and unfortunately didn't speak Italian, we were told that one wouldn't expect to be offered another language in our own country. There was no attempt to help us with the dishes or the menu. Unfortunately, we couldn't translate either due to poor internet reception. As a restaurateur who works in an area that partially relies on tourism, I find the reaction inappropriate and not very hospitable. Therefore, we had no desire to pay for something we didn't understand, so we left. We can't give a review of the food.

23/05/2025: Locale storico in borgo San Paolo dove ero statoa cena con amici almeno.15 anni fa con ottimi ricordi culinari...stasera sono ritornato volentieri con mia moglie per ricercare il fritto misto di pesce e siamo usciti assolutamente soddisfatti!! Abbiamo scelto di mangiare nel dehor molto accogliente ed abbiamo ordinato impepata di cozze sarde in saor ed il fritto misto che abbiamo chiesto senza i pesciolini e le verdure in pastella stile Romagna..molto leggero ed abbondante!! Per finire in bellezza semifreddo allo zabaione e meringata alla cioccolata calda!! Tutto molto buono ed accompagnato da un servizio curato e gentile!! Ottima rapporto qualità prezzo!! Da ritornare per provare i primi e le altre proposte del menù!

Upon entering you see the kitchen tidy and very clean. Impeccable kitchen staff. Excellent value for money. I recommend booking as it is very popular. I have to say I was very impressed satisfied and certainly as well as returning I will do great publicity. VERY GOOD, keep it up. I love fried food and I have to say it's delicious, I recommend it. Not greasy, crunchy, perfectly cooked. The swordfish with sweet and sour vegetables is delicious. Delicious turbot, perfect cooking. Everything else is good too. 18/05/2025: Tutto perfetto. La location in una piazzetta tranquilla, il proprietario gentilissimo, un menu con pochi piatti ma mirati, ricercati e con l’imbarazzo della scelta. Bravissimi, continuate così non fatevi travolgere dalle richieste dei turisti stranieri e non conformatevi alle richieste di chi di cucina italiana non capisce niente

16/05/2025: I don't go to places twice, I want to try everything as reasonably possible. But on my first night in Florence I had the steak here and it was so good after two more nights in Florence no other restaurant could really compare so I came back again and had the same thing and the tortellini all'osso buco and that too is really good! If you must splurge do so here it's an all time recommend! Post note: the steak was so soft I could cut it with a butter knife (literally no joke)

14/05/2025: The best Florentine steak in Florence at a more than fair price compared to many "tourist-catching" restaurants in the Tuscan capital. Very small but very welcoming environment. The owner, a Sicilian transplanted to Tuscany, hosts you as if you were at home and offers a menu that combines Tuscan tradition with some Sicilian dishes with truly excellent ingredients. The ricotta cannolo is unmissable, truly fresh and delicious. Parking is also convenient, given that the restaurant is located a stone's throw from the central market where you can park comfortably. Alternatively, there is a garage nearby. Highly recommended if you want an excellent Florentine steak before taking a stroll in the center, reachable on foot in a few minutes
