It is far from a tourist trap, it is a family business run by local people. Edit: We came back the next day and everything was delicious again. Recommended 100%

17/08/2024: There are a lot of photos so I won't upload them. Food is a bit salty for Korean tastes. The food comes out in abundance. I went there to experience Roman home cooking and it was a good experience. The owner is kind. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who doesn't like salty food.

11/08/2024: We loved this restaurant! The service and food was excellent! We were welcomed like we were family and the food made me feel like I was eating at someone’s home (who could really cook!). There was a good variety so the vegetarian and carnivores could enjoy the meal. The lentils, pasta and little rice balls were simply delicious. Those at our table who usually don’t love lentils thoroughly enjoyed them too. The white wine that was included was the best we had in Rome. I now wish I could order it to have here in the States! Highly recommend this restaurant to everyone!

12/08/2024: Wandering around Rome, we come across this restaurant and without having booked we ask for a free table for two. The staff very kindly found us a table straight away but with one condition: request at least two courses. Looking at the menu, full of special proposals, we immediately decide to try the "Bar a Vin" tasting menu which includes two starters, a first course, a second course and a sweet or savory choice! The two appetizers of the tasting are a Roman Maritozzo stuffed with lamb (very good) and a Roman-style flaky bread with butter and olives stuffed with ricotta and sausage. The first is a dish of "ricotta and mint buttons with courgette cream" (good!) while the second is a deer tartare, crunchy wasabi with egg bottarga. To conclude, instead of dessert, I opt for a savory dish, i.e. a selection of cheeses. Each dish is served with a very accurate description which makes the experience better. The bill is slightly above average due to both the location and the beautiful location of the restaurant but in any case I absolutely recommend a visit and since the menu changes very often I don't rule out a return for the winter season.

11/08/2024: Girovagando per Roma, ci imbattiamo in questo ristorante e senza aver prenotato chiediamo un tavolo libero per due. Il personale molto gentilmente ci trova subito il tavolo ma con una condizione: richiedere almeno due portate. Osservando il menù, ricco di proposte particolari, decidiamo subito di provare il menù degustazione “Bar a Vin” che comprende due antipasti, un primo, un secondo e un dolce o salato a scelta! I due antipasti della degustazione sono un maritozzo romano ripieno di agnello (molto buono) e un pane sfogliato con burro e olive alla romana ripiene di ricotta e salsiccia. Il primo è un piatto di “bottoni di ricotta e menta con crema di zucchine” (buona!) mentre per secondo una tartare di daino, wasabi croccante con bottarga di uovo. Per concludere opto, invece del dolce, per un salato ossia una selezione di formaggi. Ogni piatto è servito da una descrizione molto accurata che rende migliore l’esperienza. Il conto è leggermente sopra la media dovuta sia alla posizione sia alla bellissima location del ristorante ma in ogni caso consiglio assolutamente un passaggio e poiché il menù cambia molto spesso non escludo un ritorno per la stagione invernale.

12/08/2024: Heading towards Lake Vico via Cassia, feeling peckish in my stomach, doing a quick search on the Internet and this tavern comes up. Never was the choice more appropriate... Typical Sardinian restaurant (therefore typical fish-based cuisine), informal but refined environment as well as the sober and professional welcome. We opt for fish meatballs as anticipated and then immediately dive into the first courses: cacio e pepe for me and spaghetti with clams for my wife. Well, I have to say that I haven't eaten such good cacio e pepe in years (for those from Rome it's at the same level as what Felice does in Testaccio and perhaps even better) not to mention the spaghetti with clams done to perfection (and coming from Torvaianica I think I know something about this). In short, a wonderful discovery that I would recommend to everyone in the hope of returning very soon. Fantastic!!!

29/07/2024: I had lunch with friends in this restaurant for the first time, home-made starters and Danish and black angus meat, all delicious accompanied by a good house red wine, fast service and a cool environment.

06/08/2024: Drinks: Cocktails (especially Bellini and Campari Spritz) didn't taste good at all. Too little ice in the Spritz and too little soda, unripe fruit poorly pureed in the Bellini. Here, above all, quantity rather than class. Service: Service was inattentive upon arrival, even though there were three of us (no seat assignment or card). The bill was only brought after the third reminder and a total of 30 minutes, even though they had a relaxed conversation with other guests the whole time. It could also have been because we were the only ones not Italian. It's a shame, because the bar has potential and is also in a relaxed location in front of the French Embassy.

30/06/2024: Più che una recensione, questo vuole essere un ringraziamento ad Alessandro, il titolare, ed a tutti i suoi collaboratori che ci hanno fatto vivere una bellissima esperienza. E non parlo solo delle pietanze, spettacolari, ma anche della cordialità e della gentilezza con cui ci hanno accolti e coccolati. E, se è vero che le ore più belle della nostra vita sono tutte collegate, in modo più o meno tangibile, ad un qualche ricordo della tavola, la serata passata al Camponeschi occuperà di certo un posto speciale nei nostri ricordi.

14/08/2024: I'm visiting from Japan. I made a reservation three months in advance, but without confirming my reservation on-site, I was seated at a narrow table with plenty of empty seats, next to bird feathers and feces. I ordered a variety of dishes, but the carbonara was hard to call carbonara and had a hard core. The song is great. It's full of hospitality. A clerk wearing glasses and an orange scarf bumped into me when I was going to the bathroom and didn't apologize.

13/08/2024: Beautiful typical Roman evening. Suggestive atmosphere, friendly and quick staff. Good food. Right quantities.

01/08/2024: Food good to okay. Unfortunately, different prices are shown on the invoice than on the menu. That's a no-go! Waiters disorganized and sometimes rude.

08/08/2024: Despite the evening crowd, fast and punctual service. The fries are hand cut, not the usual frozen pre-fried ones! Roman-style pizza, thin but well prepared. Good beer. I will return to try the cuisine, which promises well

06/07/2024: Super delicious super fresh beautiful designed plates food. The wait between appetizers and main course was well LOOOOONG. Not sure why but when it arrived it was Devine. Desserts were good. They were very accommodating for gluten free dairy free and vegan options.

17/06/2024: Ieri era il compleanno di mio marito e dietro suggerimento di mia figlia, siamo andati con altri due amici in questo ristorante. Parliamo dell’atmosfera: sei a casa, con uno staff che ti coccola, ti fa sentire di famiglia, ma allo stesso tempo professionale ed attento. Cucina: eccellente, piatti che ricorderai, non so descrivere i sapori, ma posso dire che davvero sono “ la pace del palato”. Chiudete gli occhi e scegliete quel che capita, è tutto ottimo. Ringrazio mia figlia di avermi consigliato questo ristorante. Torneremo , eccome se torneremo!

18/08/2024: Very nice restaurant near the BRANCACCIO Theater of our dear and beloved Gigi Proietti❤️ A stone's throw from the Church of Santa Maria Maggiore 😍❤️ Excellent food...excellent cacio e pepe with homemade pasta 😍 Generous portions, friendly and polite staff To my request on August 5th in the evening to speed up... the arrival of the dishes.... I was immediately listened to ❤️ THANK YOU THANK YOU SO MUCH AGAIN ❤️ (I was there to see the snowfall in front of the sanctuary 😍) I will definitely come back to taste other Roman specialities🥰 It was my first time going A rich menu of meat, fish and pizza RIGHT PRICES FOR EXCELLENT DISHES.... MODERATE!

17/08/2024: We arrived and received a table for two in seconds, on a busy Friday evening. The mood is great. The waiters were very helpful and kind to us. The food was plenty and delicious. At the end we got a doggy bag and free meloncello. We were served properly. One of our best experiences in Rome.
