27/11/2025: AVOID! Matriciana was one of the most recommended spots I found in Rome through serious food pages, not influencers, so I arrived with real expectations. We even came from Brazil with a reservation already made. Nothing prepared me for how disappointing it would be. We were seated outside, freezing, because the heaters barely worked. The service was messy and the waiters were short with everyone. Before the pasta even arrived, a bug fell into our table and the waiter didnt care. The calamari fritti was not good for the price, and then the real shock: the carbonara and the rigatoni with oxtail. Both took ages, and when they finally reached the table they looked and tasted like airplane meals. Dry, cold, tiny, bland, completely lifeless. These are basic Roman dishes and they were some of the worst versions I’ve ever been served. We asked for replacements, and what came back was nearly identical. I left honestly confused about the restaurant’s fame. There is nothing here that shows quality, care, or even the basics done right. You will eat far better in small, simple places around the city. One of the worst meals I’ve had in Rome. Not recommended.

26/11/2025: If I could give zero stars, I would. The staff was terrible. I thought it would be different from what people wrote here. The wait wasn't worth the price. I wouldn't come back. It's a shame to wait over 30 minutes, to have people served before you, and to be ignored unless you ask. It's a shame to have wasted time waiting for this restaurant instead of exploring Rome.

16/12/2025: Worms in mortadella, run away!!!!!!!

12/12/2025: I hadn't been back in a year. And the return was a negative impression. We ordered calamari baked in foil, which was a crumbly mess, fried and re-fried (they were complaining about it all evening), the breaded lamb was dark and half-charred, the octopus and potato salad was tasteless and frozen straight from the fridge. The only decent thing was the charcuterie board. And then we paid separately for each delivery of bread, not to mention the mayor's water, which was two euros a liter... What a disappointment!

19/08/2025: Ichiban Ramen & Street Food 1. Location (Access, Parking): Next to Hotel Marisa 2-minute walk from Rome Train Station 2. Hours (Closed, Break Times, Wi-Fi): Open 24/7, no breaks, free Wi-Fi 3. Friendliness: Not friendly, but not rude either. It's chic. 4. Cleanliness: Overall, it was clean (the bathroom was clean too). 5. Menu & Taste: Ichiban Ramen & Donburi (Meat Bowl) I was craving Korean food and was planning to visit a Korean restaurant, but luckily, there was a Japanese restaurant my family loves right next to our hotel. The ramen we ordered was light, not salty, and delicious. The meat bowl donburi was also delicious, with a sweet pork rib marinade and easy-to-eat cubes of meat. The interior had a Japanese feel, and the food was delicious. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to try Japanese food in Europe.

05/12/2025: Good food, casual atmosphere. Normal wait. There's one small problem, however, that's unacceptable in 2025: people were vaping comfortably at their tables (inside). Would a restaurant owner really tolerate this in 2025 and pretend nothing was happening, leaving other customers to suffer? Never again.

05/12/2025: A typical restaurant serving products from the Castelli Romani area. The porchetta was, as usual, very good and tender. The other appetizers were also noteworthy, especially the stewed beans. I tried several first courses, including cacio e pepe (excellent); wild boar ragù (good, but I prefer it with a little sauce); and the carbonara wasn't my cup of tea. A bit chaotic when ordering, and the wait times could be improved. All in all, a good, historic yet renovated fraschetta.

16/12/2025: Well, there's nothing wrong with the food. I've been there more than once and the food was good. But let's not kid ourselves, I didn't think restaurants still existed with table service of this terrible standard. They do everything wrong with restaurant rules, they argue with each other, shouting in front of customers, it seems like they owe you a favor when you ask for something (like desserts). They brought us fries we never ordered, and the waiter left our plates and immediately turned his back, not even hearing us when we tried to speak to him. Rudeness like I haven't seen in a long time. I hope it was just a one-off because it's okay to think of it as a quiet Roman trattoria, but this seems really over the top. It's not warm, it's rude.

28/11/2025: We were treated like typical tourists 😉… Including being charged €6 for bread we hadn't even touched. The staff removed the €6 charge but offered no apology. Overall, a very poor experience at this restaurant.

28/10/2025: A great place to celebrate something or just enjoy a leisurely meal made with good quality and fresh ingredients. Don't go if you're in a hurry. We made the mistake going on a school night and left the restaurant past midnight. There aren't many vegan or vegetarian options on the menu but if you ask the waiter they are happy to accommodate. Just have this one photo because forgot to take others but the lobster pasta dish was divine. Also the soufflé dessert (can easily share for two people).

24/10/2025: This place is phenomenal. Was super impressed by the service, setting and well thought out menu. Went with my wife for a dinner for two on a Tuesday and was treated to an exceptional meal and bottle of Barolo. Big fan, will come back when I am around in December. Complements to the team who runs the place.

13/11/2025: Spectacular, delicious appetizers, sublime fried foods, and supplì with different fillings, the pumpkin and provola one being a must. The soft pizza reflects all the characteristics of Neapolitan pizza and is very easy to digest. The long list of desserts is difficult to choose because they're all tempting: the Kinder parody, however, is amazing! The staff is professional, friendly, and extremely welcoming and friendly.

10/11/2025: The fried foods: a cod fillet stuffed with boiled, unsalted cod; and a zucchini flower stuffed with bitter anchovy paste from the tubetti. My wife didn't like the Margherita pizza; my Neapolitan calzone had only a filling in the center and was empty at the sides.
