The Cacio e Pepe was actually the best we have ever tried. In addition, the oxtail pasta was super tasty as well. Unfortunately, the dining experience was unbelievably catastrophic. The waiters were ok, they did their job but didn’t make us feel welcomed. That’s fine. However, the female manager was super rude to everyone the whole evening. We were not sure if she was only mean to non-Italian guests, but in any case, she first made fun of one group and told them, very rudely, that in Italy guests must always wait to be seated. Then not long after, she scolded the other group and said that they didn’t know what real chicken was, just because they complained that there was not enough meat on the chicken. Surprisingly were both groups polite and they simply expressed their opinions, which universally should be accepted, the manager behaved super aggressively. As for us, we booked 15 days in advance. We ordered quite some dishes including one 30€ bottle of white wine, which was however not served in a barrel of ice (an Italian table did have that, interestingly). And while we still had wine (1.5 hr in, there was no sign of dining time limit), she threw(literally) the bill on our desk, and then asked us to pay. We felt pressured and then quickly finished the wine and then leave. We will definitely not come back again, even though the pasta was great, our opinion is life is too short and don’t waste your time dealing with these unbelievable people. We still like Rome.

We tasted delicious Roman specialties for the first time at this traditional restaurant on the evening of April 17, 2026. A truly wonderful place: top-notch service (the waiter gave excellent advice, including on the wine), perfectly cooked pasta, and flavorful meats: pure bliss!
A dreamy Roman evening; thank you so much to all the staff!
I recommend making a reservation if possible, as there can be a wait. It's a fantastic place! 🙏🥰✨

The atmosphere was really cool, in a very lively and pleasant area of Rome. We went in search of the famous "cacio e pepe," but I think our expectations were too high. The dish is really good (I'd say excellent for those who really like cacio e pepe), but what stole the show was the carbonara ordered by one of us, one of the best I've seen in Rome. Another point of concern was the coldness and lack of friendliness of the lady who was at the reception and cash register. As for the waiters, no comment, all very helpful and polite. Don't forget to make a reservation, otherwise you really won't get a table.

The restaurant was recommended to us by a friend who lives in Rome, and I have to say I was quite satisfied. The pasta was delicious, even if the prices were a bit high, but the service and quality of the food were top-notch. The waiters were very friendly and helpful!

We had an excellent night of dinning. The cacio e pepe was really wonderful. It is served in a Parmesan bowl and its saltiness really adds to the dish. We also had the gnocchi special and the pork ragu. All were very good. The grilled veggies were a nice offering in a city that often doesn’t offer such simple veg offerings. Would totally go back.

This place came highly recommended, primarily by Anthony Bourdain who raved about their cacio e pepe. My wife made a reservation and we were excited to arrive on time for what we hoped to be one of the highlights of our trip.
When it arrived, we were excited to see it was served in a fried crispy cheese bowl, which upon digging into it, we realized that the cheese bowl and cacio e pepe brought out the worst of each other.
All of the moisture and creaminess from the cacio e pepe soaked into the cheese bowl, leaving the majority of the would otherwise have been a crispy delicious cheese snack as a mushy, soggy mess.
Similarly, the creaminess of the cacio e pepe had left the chat, leaving a dry, uninspired lump of pasta in its wake. It didn't taste of cheese, there was no hint of pepper, and if there was any creaminess when they cooked it, it had either evaporated or soaked into the tired cheese bowl.
Eating a few of the crisp edges of the cheese bowl with the pasta flooded the pallete with salt, washing out any hint of actual flavor and nuance that might have been in the dish.
The servers were far and few between, making it challenging to order the essentials like water and bread for the table. This was a consistent theme, making it clear they don't have time to actually take care of you in a meaningful way.
The dining room is overcrowded with a toilet in the corner that regularly wafts cold air and the residuals from customer deposits throughout the dining room with extreme intensity. My wife was over it to the point she was ready to get up and walk out of it happened again.
When that kind of thing happens once in a meal that's fine. I can deal with that. Customers are going to do what customers are going to do. But when it happens multiple times throughout dinner, it makes me think there's something more systemic happening and really turned what could have been a delicious cacio e pepe into a cacio e poo poo.
Overall the food was edible but that's a far cry from what we were expecting. The service was challenging and the cramped dining room combined with the close proximity to the regularly exhausting restroom made for an unpleasant experience.
If this was my hometown haunt I would talk to them about it and they could probably fix the issues. As it stands, this is clearly a restaurant trying to drive volume in order to profit from the kind words of a world famous chef who had a great experience.
Unfortunately that experience has come and gone.
If you come here you might get a great experience or you might not. It's clearly more of a roll of the dice at this high volume, mediocre quality pasta place that serves 90% cacio e Pepe made in large batches and dished out with very little worry about how it actually tastes.

Delightful dinner! The food was excellent and the service was best in class. We had an early reservation so it was a bit quiet for the first little while after we arrived, but it picked up after a little while. The cheese bowl cacio e pepe was as good as everyone says, and the roasted vegetables made me very happy after many carb-heavy meals. Chocolate soufflé and the apple cake were excellent for dessert.
