07/01/2026: Courteous staff, welcoming atmosphere, well-prepared dishes, even the plating was meticulous. The veal cutlet was a bit of a surprise (it was a bit saltimboccata... thickened with ham and cheese...), but it was still good. A variety of wines, reasonably priced.

06/01/2026: The dishes are decent, the food is good, but I find it quite expensive for the actual portion. The staff is very friendly! The atmosphere is a bit dark, but that's a matter of personal taste. We ordered an appetizer to share and a first course each. In the photos below: rabbit, tortellini, and tortelloni.

09/01/2026: INCREDIBLE PASTA ! My wife and I acted on a hot tip from an employee at our fav breakfast cafe in Bologna that this place was the ant’s pants for great pasta. Of course 1198 reviews at 4.4 stars on Google Maps can’t be ignored. On Saturday we walked over here for lunch arriving just before 1.30pm ( open for lunch 1pm – 2.30pm ). We found Bologna to be a very walkable city.....everything of interest to us was within an easy walk. The restaurant was busy enough but not too busy on such a lovely day. We were seated at a table on their beautiful terrace straight away. A server named Martina ( could have been the manager ) came by to help us. I ordered the beer they had on offer.....a German one called Ayinger Lager Hell – 4.9% abv and asked for 2 glasses of water. My ice cold beer and a lovely tall stem glass turned up quickly....it tasted fine. Soon after a complimentary starter of fresh Dinner Rolls and Mortadella arrived....a nice touch and very delicious. We could tell this was a pretty switched on restaurant and a very good choice for lunch. My wife had been craving good lasagna and that’s exactly what she ordered...Lasagna Classica Verde. I selected the Ravioli Di Melanzana Al Pomodoro. So far on the Italian leg of our 3 week vacation we found the prices of food and drinks very good value. Our entrees arrived together in perfect time considering how busy these guys were in their lunch time window of 90 minutes. We asked our server Martina for grated parmigiana which she took care of promptly. AND ? Well we were more than happy with the excellent texture and flavor of our pasta dishes. THE SERVICE AND AMBIENCE WERE SECOND TO NONE !

27/12/2025: Shameless behavior of the chef/owner who would not come and take our lunch order after we were seated at our reserved table. We asked several staff members numerous times to kindly take our order but they responded we’d need to wait for the one and only person in charge… who completely ignored us. After having waited in vain for over 30 minutes in a restaurant not even full, we left, frustrated. It is hard to believe that a business owner would be so rude and unprofessional… anywhere, and even more so in Bologna.

21/12/2025: In the center of Bologna, just steps from Piazza Maggiore, next to the Nanni bookshop and overlooking the small square of Santa Maria della Vita, lies a historic restaurant, Buca di San Petronio, a must-visit for Sunday lunch. The restaurant is spacious and welcoming, with two interior rooms and a patio under the portico, complete with a warming oven, providing plenty of seating. The staff is friendly and attentive, and the food was excellent. For starters, we chose a pan of ragù with crostini and grilled octopus, followed by a cockerel with caponata, grilled salmon with vegetables, and a fragrant artichoke. We washed it all down with a glass of Cantina Avanzi Lugana di Sirmione. An excellent tiramisu with coffee was a must. The chef even stopped to ask how we had eaten, a welcome gesture for a customer. I'm more than happy to recommend this place, even though there was a small mix-up, I think due to forgetfulness: we had booked with The Fork, which offered a 20% discount on the menu (excluding drinks and probably a cover charge), which wasn't applied to the final bill of €125. We're still happy we went; the food was truly excellent.

11/12/2025: The crescentine with cured meats and cheeses were excellent; I wasn't entirely satisfied with the lasagna (the pastry was a bit overcooked and the béchamel sauce was a bit runny).

12/01/2026: The dishes were excellent, although objectively a bit pricey. The croutons that were supposed to accompany the stew were actually a slice of toast cut in half. The service was nonexistent: we waited 45 minutes for the first course without any explanation or even something to eat to while away the time. The place was small and very noisy.

10/01/2026: A rustic yet authentic location, just a few kilometers from Bologna. The menu offers a distinctly Emilia-Romagna feel, with a strong focus on gluten-free options—fresh gluten-free pasta and truly exceptional cutlets. Attentive and friendly service. The only downside was some ants crawling on the walls and table, but these things happen. We'll definitely return.

23/10/2025: It's a very welcoming bar. The owner is a very kind, friendly, and kind person. They have all kinds of drinks, thick beer, and cigars. They make delicious paninis on the spot, and the prices are very reasonable. If you are a tourist or live in Bologna, you absolutely have to jump in and have a great time. I highly recommend it. 12/12/2025: November 21, 2025. Nothing to complain about the food, but there's a lack of transparency regarding prices. In fact, the website offers a price list with much lower prices, and even here, prices are slightly lower. Since my visit (I'm writing this on December 12), I've noticed that some users have uploaded photos of the menu taken at the restaurant, which, to be fair, I must say is up-to-date. I'll leave aside the "old and Italian" argument about "bread and cover charge," but I'd point out that the menu doesn't list the price of water, which, even though it's described as "machine-filtered," seems excessive to me (€3 for what appears to be a "transalpine carafe of water," which is always offered to customers).
