I ate in this restaurant for the first time and it was all delicious, homemade pasta made by them and I highly recommend it, we took 2 different types of cappellacci and they were exceptional. Then I had the Crescentino with cured meats, fresh cheese and pickles of their own production, all super. The owners are very kind, we loved the place because it was clean, warm and with 70s furnishings that take you back to the good old days. The only flaw is that they tell you the menu orally, and therefore ultimately difficult to keep in mind. Very fair price for the generous portions and the quality. Too bad it's 300 km from where I live, otherwise I would have come back to eat there at least twice a month.

Had lunch in a restaurant, tasting first courses, crescentine, cured meats, cold cuts and cheeses, grilled vegetables, pickles, all excellent. But above all the wine in the carafe and the coffee, excellent.

The food is delicious, and the waiters are very kind. The meals are typical Bolognese, and the service is very fast. Everything is made by them and it's all excellent. I recommend it.

It is sometimes (though not always) good to go back to a restaurant you visited a long time ago. If your previous visit was 36 years earlier, the longevity of the place is likely to be a tell-tale sign of its quality, and this is precisely the case for Trattoria Croara, where I had originally dined with a former girlfriend.
The place has changed little and the food is still great. All in line with the Emilian (Bolognese) culinary tradition of savoury pastas, excellent grilled meat and - for this restaurant in particular - "gnocco fritto" and "crescentine", which are deep-fried accompaniments for all types of cheese and cold cuts, thus replacing bread in a delicious way.
The restaurant has been open since 1955 and always managed by the same family, which is still largely represented in almost all members of staff. While being served, we had a chance of chatting with one of the owners (the older generation) and were delighted by his description of various dishes... and all of this peppered with witty remarks.

Erano tantissimi anni che non c'ero stato, ho trovato gli stessi proprietari, molto gentili e premurosi.
Il cibo, che dire, buonissimo (tortelloni di zucca con burro, salvia e speck, trippa in umido, lasagne e crescentine squisite)! Ci tornerò presto, consigliato.
