20/07/2025: We returned to Lake Ampollino in Sila after four years. We were surprised to find several pleasant businesses open, and many tourists, which doesn't detract from such a beautiful and enjoyable area to visit. We enjoyed the delicacies of the region, particularly Sila, at Bar La Botte, which we hope will grow, even if there are long lines to get in in the future. Delicious, well-prepared food: we chose the set menu of veal morsels, Sila potatoes, mixed roast pork, and pappadelle with wild boar ragù. The staff were welcoming and relaxed; it was a pleasure to sit down and enjoy their dishes. Definitely a must-visit; we'd be back!

20/07/2025: Dall’ingresso alla tavola, tutto è stato perfetto. Locale pulito e accogliente. La cucina è un vero omaggio ai sapori del territorio: prodotti tipici, freschissimi e piatti deliziosi. 28/07/2025: Imagine a tavern in the very center of Longobucco, a village nestled between the peaks of the Sila and the deep gorges of the Sila Greca, in the province of Cosenza. It's neither modern nor pretentious, but rather a place where time seems to have stood still, a haven of ancient stories and flavors. The aroma that greets you is a heady mix of spices, slowly simmering tomato sauce, and the unmistakable aroma of cured meats. The tables and chairs are wooden, sturdy and weathered, with that patina that only time can create. Don't expect fancy tablecloths; simplicity reigns supreme here, perhaps with paper or coarse fabric placemats. The cuisine is the true soul of this tavern, firmly rooted in Sila and Calabrian traditions. The menu is seasonal, dictated by what the land and local farms offer. The pasta is strictly homemade, especially the "maccarruni" (ferretti) served with hearty pork sauces. Meat reigns supreme: lamb, pork, and so on, expertly marinated and cooked over an open fire. Naturally, there's a selection of local Calabrian wines, robust and full-bodied, which pair beautifully with the bold flavors of the cuisine. The prices? Absolutely competitive.

20/09/2025: I ordered a gourmet octopus sandwich, whose ingredients list included grilled octopus. My sandwich arrived with cold octopus salad inside—the kind you'd find in seafood salad, so to speak. Feeling mocked, I went to the waitress to tell her the grilled octopus hadn't arrived. Then another woman, I assumed the owner, came over and told me they grilled the octopus anyway, but since it wasn't a seafood restaurant, I couldn't expect fresh octopus. I pointed out that I didn't expect fresh octopus, and that it could have been frozen and grilled. I felt doubly mocked because she reiterated that the octopus had been grilled when it had clearly come out of the fridge. Not content, the woman also asked me, in a less than pleasant tone, "So what should I put in the sandwich?" Are you kidding? Not only do you not apologize or admit your grave error, but you also respond rudely and arrogantly? If you don't know/want to handle fish, don't put it on the menu, and you definitely shouldn't contradict a customer who politely pointed something out to you, because you didn't make a good impression. I definitely won't be back.

27/08/2025: Upon entering this pizzeria, I immediately had a pleasant feeling: a very, very clean environment, cared for with the attention and order found in a home. The dining room isn't huge, but it's immaculately kept, with simple furnishings typical of a country pizzeria, understated yet tastefully done. It's not a place that focuses on elaborate details, yet it exudes warmth and care. The staff is extremely kind and knowledgeable, always ready to offer advice. But the real star is the pizza: a truly amazing dough, light and flavorful. I tried a special pinza, topped with garlic oil and Colonnata lard, and I must say it was extraordinary. A recommended pairing that turned out to be a very pleasant surprise. One detail that really struck me was the open kitchen: impeccable, tidy, and spotless, just like the rest of the place. Not everyone can match that. I was surprised, however, to see the place almost empty on a Friday evening. With prices absolutely in line with the market and such high quality, it makes you think about how often we choose more commercial and less authentic places. Here, however, you immediately sense the expertise of those who have studied and know their craft, as the numerous awards hanging on the walls confirm. In conclusion, a truly worthwhile place: top-notch quality, a welcoming atmosphere, and competent staff. It's definitely worth a try.

12/09/2025: Excellent pizza oven 🍕 rotisserie! I had two arancini with mortadella and pistachios, delicious, they melt in your mouth, delicious! I highly recommend it, of course.

19/08/2025: Spectacular Sila sandwich, a bit of a wait during peak hours, but worth it. I'm downgrading my review from 5 to 3 stars because they don't respect the closing time listed on the Google page, which is supposed to be 5:00 PM, but I found it closed at 4:10 PM.

13/09/2025: We had hot appetizers (a small bowl of sautéed mussels and 5 half-mussels au gratin with 2 fried anchovies) and cold ones (seafood salad, so-so; 4 half-marinated anchovies; 2 slices of marinated tuna and 3 pieces of marinated salmon, so-so, supermarket-quality...) for €17 per person... the location alone is truly worth it!! With water and bruschetta, a total of €41! Most of the tables were booked, which encouraged us to eat at 7:30 PM! 🥴
