An osteria that wins you over at first bite. Excellent quality ingredients, a smartly curated local supply chain, and dishes that showcase the local area. Impeccable, attentive, and friendly service. The owners exude passion and genuine hospitality. A must-see in Amantea. I'm Borraccia di Pisticci, and warmest regards to the owners.

A small restaurant with meticulous attention to detail. We ordered scamorza with anduja cheese and a meat dish with potatoes. I must praise the attentive staff, who prepared potatoes with onion and anduja cheese (added at our request) for us, which were simply delicious. To round off a pleasant evening, we were offered a homemade amaro made by one of the owners. If you're in Amantea, I recommend booking a dinner and trying this little gem.

I ate as I would in a Southern Italian house. It reminded me of my grandmother's cooking. They are very friendly and helpful. I recommend the scamorza and potatoes.

Osteria Potame!
A journey into Calabria, with authentic, time-honored, and wholesome flavors.
0-mile products, from the producer to the table.
On a scorching July evening, we were greeted with graciousness and great kindness by the owner and all the staff. We chose the full menu, given our picky palates and stomachs! From appetizers to dessert, everything was excellent and incredibly filling!!
Congratulations, and we won't miss it on our next trip to Amantea.

Beautiful place!!! Informal and free, the upper floor is more intimate and cozy.
The place is air-conditioned and clean, even the kitchen smells are well managed by the exhaust system, they are tantalizing and never unpleasant.
The young owner is jovial, friendly, competent, and efficient, perhaps just a little electric. The other girl is also kind and knows how to be a good host.
There were two of us, and the place was 70-80% full, sitting on the first floor overlooking the square.
The wait was short, and all the dishes were really good, from the appetizers to the first and second courses. Even the desserts were absolutely good but not exceptional (the bocconotti, but not with marmalade, but with cinnamon). The house wine was good, and the herb liqueur was excellent, in fact, excellent.
We ordered two tasting menus, which, including soft drinks, water, wine, and cover charge, brought the bill to 50 euros total. Excellent value for money!!!
Menu:
The house appetizer was delicious, truly local, with praise for the cheeses. However, there weren't the famous bruised olives, "papà's" homemade ones that we saw at the next table.
The first course, n'duja, was perhaps the least successful, having already been there... and too spicy, a small, naive take on folklore; the spaghetti with game ragù was excellent.
The second course, grilled black pork sausage with smoked scamorza, was excellent and absolutely NOT heavy. The Calabrian-style fried eggs, perhaps due to a small problem in the kitchen—the owner said—were presented to us as a delicacy with a "surprise." Perhaps they were supposed to have cracklings, ciccioli, or frisule, whatever you want to call them. Instead, they turned out to be just plain fried eggs with absolutely NOTHING, and that cost us one star... otherwise, it would have been 5!!!
No big deal, we'll definitely be back... and we'll ask for more!!!
A candid review, as candid and sincere as the flavors were.
A place from another time.

Lovely trattoria, with a very friendly and knowledgeable owner. If you want to try Calabrian specialties, this is the place to be. Traditional appetizers with superb cheeses. The ever-present Zane apples are exquisite. The peppers and potatoes are very good. The homemade wine is good, and finally, a delicious Amaro S without a label. I highly recommend it; go there, you won't be disappointed.

A real surprise, the owners and managers are truly fantastic but even more fantastic is eating their zero-mile dishes, traditional Calabrese recipes cooked like grandmothers used to do, a stop not to be missed for anyone who finds themselves in these parts.
