The top-notch wine list, curated with skill and passion. Excellent cuisine: top-quality ingredients, balanced dishes, technically perfect, and with a distinct personality. All this in a splendid, elegant, and evocative location, completing a truly rare gastronomic experience. A restaurant that has nothing to envy the great names of haute cuisine. The quality of the croissants and our cappuccinos was excellent, and the prices were absolutely reasonable. Il Sedile is a place where even non-Matera visitors will feel at home. The owner is always ready to provide valuable information and recommendations for places to visit. In short, Il Sedile is highly recommended for anyone visiting Matera. The combination of warm service, high-quality products, and a welcoming, non-touristy atmosphere makes this place an experience we'll never forget. 29/01/2026: A place with authentic, quality products, excellent and expertly cooked Podolica beef. The flavors of yesteryear. You can tell right from the appetizer, with artisanal cured meats and cheeses. Reasonably priced. We'll definitely be back.

08/09/2025: The sea 🌊 the 🌞 sun, tranquility, in a comfortable, clean, family-friendly environment and a golden sandy beach to enjoy the silence of the Lucanian land at an exceptional price/quality. It's a shame summer is over. We look forward to 2026. Great preparation by the owner Angelo 😇 and all his truly exceptional staff. The seaside restaurant 🌊 is also a gem worth trying and not to be missed.

07/09/2025: Wonderful beach. We stayed at the Oasi for a week in September and were welcomed and treated with courtesy and kindness. The staff were friendly and helpful, the prices were fair, the location was crystal-clear, the beach clean and well-maintained, and the restaurant served a limited but delicious menu! A 10/10 experience in Basilicata.

23/02/2026: A wonderful experience in a refined setting with an old-world feel. The staff is friendly and helpful. We ate a *chianca* with an excellent dough and top-quality ingredients, followed by bread meatballs with tomato sauce and baked potatoes. Everything was really good. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. P.S. Make sure you book!

30/11/2025: If you want a croissant, you have to go to Carlucci's. They offer pistachio, Nutella, cream, cream and black cherry, and more. They also offer delicious gelato, and you should definitely try their pastries. For mid-morning, try the croissant with cream...top

17/11/2025: Terrible service on Saturdays (and I don't know about other days) as soon as you finish your pizza they throw the receipt in your face, one of the waitresses even told us we can just not pay and never come back...

16/11/2025: Please note that the stars awarded are reserved exclusively for the tiramisu review. Mascarpone is missing, replaced exclusively with cream. The biscuits are toasted and have an unpleasant texture, similar to wet cardboard. Poor value for money, and finally, there was no egg at all. Even though it was poor, we waited a long time for this tasting.

28/08/2025: Over time, the welcome has deteriorated; it almost seems like they're doing you a favor by having you dine. We arrived at 9:10 PM, in the middle of summer, and anyway, if it was late, they could have said so and we would have gone somewhere else.

05/03/2026: Warm and welcoming atmosphere. Very friendly staff. Beautiful dining room. It's a shame about the menu, which needs a complete overhaul. The appetizers are decent. First courses: if an experiment didn't work out, I'd opt for a simpler, tastier dish. The same goes for the second courses. For desserts, they need much more creativity and freshness. Decent
