01/12/2025: We tried some very good croissants, but the most spectacular were the sporcamuss', warm and full of cream. Delicious! Recommended.

12/09/2025: We've been frequenting this bar every morning for years, and it's always a surefire hit! The atmosphere is welcoming, the staff are friendly and attentive, the coffee is excellent, and the croissants are always fresh. It's become a go-to place for a great start to the day. Thank you so much for your perseverance and your constant smile!

24/02/2026: This bakery represents the history of the city of Matera. I've personally had the opportunity to try numerous types of focaccia barese, which has its roots in the Bari Vecchia district. I can rightfully say that Paoluccio surpasses, albeit just barely, even the famous bakeries of Bari. The location of the business makes it easy to stroll among the wonders of the capital of rural civilization, with a fragrant piece of focaccia in hand. We highly recommend tasting the authentic Pane di Matera, an ancient product that is very different from the more commercialized Pane di Altamura PGI. A shout-out to those who continue the traditions.

30/08/2025: A pleasant discovery! Excellent trattoria inside the farmhouse next to the main road, you don't even have to leave. Quick service and delicious, abundant typical Basilicata dishes. Pictured are Lucanian-style ferricelli and cacciatore-style rabbit. More than fair price. I'd go back!

27/08/2025: Abbiamo mangiato ottimamente, da anni in questo periodo ci andiamo e anche quest'anno siamo rimasti soddisfatti, noto con piacere che la proprietaria e il personale sono attenti alle normative covid e accolgono i clienti in un'ambiente sicuro e famigliare. Piatti abbondanti e sconsigliati per chi è a dieta.

29/03/2026: Truly beautiful place (exposed brick vaults), very well decorated! Special dishes served in delicious little pans! All the little samples! Chicken livers, tripe and potatoes, seafood salad, pickled pumpkin, cod with cruschi peppers, shrimp in pink sauce, and a platter of local cured meats! Then there's the pizza with very refined ingredients... like pistachio cream!!!! The dough is truly excellent! The house Aglianico wine is exquisite! Among the desserts, the ricotta cream with salted caramel stands out! A place to try at least once in your life!

15/02/2026: I had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant located in the evocative Policoro Castle, a truly captivating setting that makes the experience even more special. The soft lighting and intimate atmosphere create an elegant and relaxing atmosphere, perfect for both a romantic dinner and a quiet evening with friends. The cuisine is top-notch: the fish is incredibly fresh, and the quality of the ingredients is immediately apparent. The dishes are carefully prepared, beautifully presented, and rich in flavor, with a perfect balance between tradition and creativity. Each course was a pleasant discovery. An added bonus is definitely the owner, always kind, helpful, and attentive to the needs of his guests, who puts them at ease from the moment they arrive.

24/11/2025: A café, bar, tobacconist, and ticket vendor for bus operators affiliated with the Basilicata Transport Consortium, some of which terminate right in front of the establishment. Focaccias, panzerotti, snacks, packaged ice creams, sandwiches, quiches, croissants, juices, and hot chocolate are available. There is a single unisex restroom.

24/09/2025: I'll start with the good: The resort feels safe. It is quiet in mid September with the older generation. The pools are open with plenty of chairs and no one in them. You have everything you need on site, so you don'thave to leave unless you want to. There is a market, a restaurant, a pizzeria and a private beach. Some bad: The rooms are dated and not well stocked for a week stay. We dont like to eat out, so we rely on a stocked kitchen and a working range. The surrounding location is very barren. There is a small town about 10 minutes away, but it didn't offer too much as far as entertainment, but we did find a coffee shop and a market. The thing I disliked most is that the beach is closed at night. Overall, not a bad place for a family vacation.

14/03/2026: We stopped for a quick lunch and the experience was excellent. Two first courses and a second course were expertly cooked, home-made, and beautifully presented. We also found the price to be reasonable, considering the authenticity of the products served!

09/03/2026: A traditional inn that feels like home. We ordered two first courses and a mixed roast. Pappardella with mushrooms and truffles, and pappardella with ragù. Mixed roast of goat and lamb. Everything was exceptional, with a familiar flavor.

19/10/2025: We stayed here twice in early December 2024, and we had a wonderful time! The atmosphere was casual and clean, the food excellent, and the traditional Lucanian cuisine "just like it used to be." Michele and his entire family are wonderful people! They helped us organize a birthday party, and his wife even made us a spectacular ricotta cake! Thanks again for everything!

04/10/2025: Unique place!! Fantastic staff, they really make you feel at home, extraordinary and super hospitable, food? More than excellent, in fact excellent, more than fresh products and truly made with love, they remind me of my grandmother's cooking 😍 here and really you have to try and have to return, because believe me you can't do without it!! 17/02/2026: My partner and I spent a couple of nights here while visiting Matera. The property is family-run and staffed by kind and professional people, who also provided us with useful information about visiting the city. The room was well-appointed with a desk and refrigerator. The bed and pillows were comfortable, and we could easily adjust the temperature (we didn't experience any problems with cold, humidity, or mold, as I've read in other reviews). The breakfast (we requested vegan breakfast in advance) was delicious, and we also appreciated the variety of organic products. I recommend it both for its location in the center of the Sassi of Matera and because the experience of sleeping in a cave is a must!

21/01/2026: The rooms are quaint and typical of the area. Each room tells a story of who once lived there. For those who are used to it, there's no TV in these rooms—at least mine! Which makes everything more authentic.

26/09/2025: The food was INSANELY good, the ragu and black truffle pastas were near perfection, the L’Imperatore red wine stellar and the Rum Babe desert deserves a prize. Also the staff was so lovely
