05/05/2026: A typical Lucanian trattoria with truly delicious dishes: we thoroughly enjoyed both the homemade soup and the soup with meatballs in tomato sauce, both flavorful and well-prepared. Unfortunately, however, the service wasn't up to par. The lady, presumably the owner, seemed rather haughty, while her daughter, who was taking orders, was even more so. We would have appreciated greater kindness, friendliness, and a modicum of savoir-faire. At various times, she was rude, even towards other customers: for example, with a table of undecided foreigners, she showed impatience, grumbling and huffing, turning away so as not to be noticed. Overall, a mixed experience: good food, but the welcome really makes the difference. Personally, I don't think I'll return, because a good restaurant should also offer empathetic and pleasant service, starting with the managers, who proved less friendly than the very kind waiters.

14/12/2025: Simply extraordinary experience. The Sartago restaurant is, in my opinion, a Michelin-starred restaurant in every way. Impeccable service: professional, attentive, and never intrusive. The top-notch wine list, curated with skill and passion. Excellent cuisine: top-quality ingredients, balanced dishes, technically perfect, and with a distinct personality. All this in a splendid, elegant, and evocative location, completing a truly rare gastronomic experience. A restaurant that has nothing to envy the great names of haute cuisine. Sincere compliments: I will return and recommend it without hesitation.

20/04/2026: It's not Sunday without desserts from Delizie di Rita. The profiteroles, Venetian pastries, and ricotta and pear baskets are highly recommended. Not to mention the cakes: the super Rita cake tops the list, followed by the Sacher torte and chocolate cake with cream...highly recommended 😍😋

05/12/2025: The people here were so nice to me. I only know a few words of Itlian and they were more than happy to take a little time to help me. The pizza was fantastic and they will make it to go for you. If your don't speak Italian don't worry they are very nice. Just make sure you know how to say thank you.

The quality of the croissants and our cappuccinos was excellent, and the prices were absolutely reasonable. Il Sedile is a place where even non-Matera visitors will feel at home. The owner is always ready to provide valuable information and recommendations for places to visit. In short, Il Sedile is highly recommended for anyone visiting Matera. The combination of warm service, high-quality products, and a welcoming, non-touristy atmosphere makes this place an experience we'll never forget. Stop for a bite to eat and a chat with the owner – it's definitely worth it!

14/05/2026: The quality of the meat was outstanding — grilled to perfection over a wood fire. We arrived earlier than we realized, yet the staff was incredibly kind and welcomed us in without hesitation. The meal, complete with beautifully grilled onions and potatoes, was excellent. We’ll definitely be returning.
