18/03/2025: Best meal of our Italian trip. We arrived in Matera early evening on a Wednesday in March, a day when many restaurants are closed. Osteria San Francesco is a small family-run place, with a calm, modern, relaxing vibe. Excellent local dishes, which you can watch the chef prepare. We were the only guests in the restaurant that night. Lovely service, excellent value. I'd love to go back!

08/01/2025: Best place to get food in Latronico, we ordered 4 Pizza Margarethas, the best ones we ever had! 100% italian, there is a lot of free parking on the street and there is a lot of space to eat food in the restaurant.

Pochi i piatti ma preparati con passione e serviti con simpatia ed efficienza da parte del giovane personale. Prezzo nella media. Unico neo, non imputabile al locale è la mancanza di parcheggio nelle vicinanze.

As American Tourists she overcharged us €10 after relooking at the bill - my Invisalign fell out of my pocket and she replied online taunting us for forgetting it instead of offering it back to us.
Food was okay but go to a place with good customer services - do not look at the top reviews rank this place by least to greatest - there is better food in Matera and this place is not it especially with the service!!!

09/01/2025: In the center of Sasso this pub offers excellent beer, both on tap and in bottles. Traditional food from Lucania and beyond, cooked well with excellent raw materials, a family and welcoming environment. I recommend appetizer and steak.
