04/11/2025: Authentic market gem! This place is located right in the market and serves absolutely incredible food — honestly, it was probably the most memorable meal of our entire trip. The service was friendly, and the vibe is that perfect mix of trendy, hipster, and local. Everything was super clean, beautifully presented, and the food quality was outstanding. A big bravo to this spot — truly deserves all the praise! It was also recommended to us by Sicilians themselves, and now I understand exactly why.

02/11/2025: Very good restaurant Recommended by friends. Very nice when there's a local market with all the fish, vegetable, and fruit vendors. It's a typical Sicilian restaurant with outdoor tables, the bar on one side, and the kitchen at the other. We had calamari and prawns as a starter, followed by pasta with vongole and baby tomatoes. Everything was very good and cooked perfectly. The wine was a lovely white. Very reasonable prices.

07/03/2026: I can't comment...the website says it opens at 6:30 a.m. At 6:55, the shutters were still halfway up, with about ten customers waiting outside, and us, who'd missed the 6:40 ferry to have breakfast there. We left a little annoyed, and because we didn't want to miss the next ferry.

10/03/2026: My husband and I discovered this pizzeria almost by accident. It's located in a somewhat hidden spot, but the atmosphere is already beautiful, welcoming and intimate. The pizza is among the best in the area, the dough is excellent, and the menu selection is extensive and unique. The staff is extremely kind, friendly, and helpful. The prices are truly excellent for the quality of the products you get. We've also taken advantage of the home delivery service, and the service has always been top-notch, always punctual and precise. What can I say? It's now my husband and I's favorite pizzeria. Highly recommended.

28/03/2026: I celebrated my 18th birthday yesterday and it really deserves 5 stars because it is a wonderful location, so green, spacious outside and many beautiful spots to take lots of photos, they deserve a lot, thank you so much, you were really kind, the staff was perfect and always available, the buffet was all perfect, thanks especially to Mrs. Simona for the patience she had with me this year😂❤️ the food was all delicious and many many compliments really❤️❤️❤️❤️

10/01/2026: I just celebrated my son's 18th birthday. What can I say? Everything was wonderful. Stefano, one of the owners, and I worked out everything down to the smallest detail. The staff was extremely knowledgeable and friendly, always attentive to the guests' every need. Giulio and Rosi (the manager) were truly wonderful people. What can I say about the location... wonderful, with attention to every detail inside and out.

14/03/2026: Gelateria La Kala is a must-see in Palermo. The gelato is creamy, rich in flavor, and made with such care that you can taste it from the first bite. Their Sette Veli is truly extraordinary: balanced, indulgent, with that perfect layering that makes it unique. The staff is kind and welcoming, the atmosphere is pleasant, and the prices are fair for the quality offered. After reading many enthusiastic reviews, I can say I wholeheartedly agree: La Kala maintains a consistently high standard. Highly recommended, especially for those who want to try a properly made Sette Veli.

18/01/2026: It's been +/- three months since we came here, so sadly we do not remember all the details. We do remember we found this ice cream place to be above average compared to the other ones in Palermo. We came here twice; the first time I ordered pistachio, dark chocolate, and nocciola (this one my girlfriend remembers as being average, not the best flavour), and at least one of those must have been good for us to come back a second time.

15/03/2026: We went to the restaurant and had a wonderful lunch. The dishes were exquisite and creatively prepared. The ingredients were excellent. The dishes were lactose-free.

24/10/2025: I had a mixed platter of cured meats, cheeses, and vegetables. Everything was delicious and of excellent quality. The food was truly delicious. The value for money was also excellent. The staff was welcoming and attentive. I recommend everyone come and enjoy the delicacies served, which are beautifully presented and very professional.

26/11/2025: The welcome was good, but I was disappointed with both the menu and the dishes I ordered, and the prices are not low.

23/11/2025: The staff is friendly, welcoming but not intrusive. The dishes are very tasty, inspired by tradition but interpreted in a unique way by the chef. The atmosphere is familiar, warm, and makes you feel at ease. I would improve the music slightly, but otherwise we found it perfect.

17/03/2026: Tried the stracciatella and mandarin, and both were really good. The stracciatella was honestly the highlight—super creamy with just the right amount of chocolate mixed in. The mandarin was really refreshing and not too sweet, which made it a nice combo with the richer flavor. Definitely would get this again. 5 stars to this place!

14/03/2026: There is no accounting for taste, so I will only say that in my opinion and that of the people of Palermo with whom I spoke on this subject, it is the best ice cream in the city.

18/03/2026: A great alternative to the usual restaurants. Friendly staff, a very cute place with a vintage music theme. The dishes are varied and very good. They bring you placemats and two pencils to play the "name things and cities" game—a great idea! I highly recommend it!

08/03/2026: We went for an aperitivo; the location was very well-kept and full of goodies for music lovers. Cocktail prices were average. The platter they gave us included with the cocktails was nice.

26/01/2026: Finding "Ammangiari" in this small restaurant in the center of town is like being at home. Simple, flavorful dishes made with quality ingredients. The courtesy, hospitality, and professionalism of the only women on hand make the difference.

08/03/2026: Avoid the open door. Given the cost of the pizzas, even if they are worth it. The owner could install an air conditioner in front of the door. A bit like Milan. Today it's cold here too and the drafts are worse than in the north. Next time I'll avoid that position in the corridor.

12/01/2026: We were staying in Tusa November 2025, and the food & hospitality here made an otherwise cold & rainy night at the end of our trip into a warm, memorable & outstanding way to leave this hilltop town! We were starving and as we walked by we saw LOTS of people going into what looked like a tiny storefront & coming out with pizza boxes, so thought we'd give it a try for pizza. Once we were inside we saw it's larger than we thought & were quickly greeted & seated at a charming table tucked in the back with exposed stone walls, wood beams and decor. With the owner's suggestion, we opted for a "traditional Sicilian meal" and every single plate that came our way was somehow both simple and utterly delicious. Being americani & because the food was SO good, we did our best to clean every plate, lol. We had decided we were stuffed & done when asked if we wanted to try their lamb-- umm, yes! Ohhh what a way to go, man, it was one of our best meals ever. Our only regret is we didn't find it until the end of our visit so only ate there once! Can't wait until we're back in Tusa so we can eat at Le Giare again.
