16/05/2025: Bel ristorante quasi nascosto nel centro della bellissima Volterra, molto caratteristico ed elegante. Siamo stati molto bene a pranzo di passaggio, servizio preciso e puntuale, buon menù con piatti molto ricercati, un calice di rosso che non può mancare, conto nella norma. Posto consigliato, ci tornerei sicuramente

27/04/2025: Se un locale viene segnalato da diversi anni dalla Guida Michelin un motivo ci deve pur essere. Situato proprio dietro la piazza principale e il castello, offre un menù vario e completo con una carta dei vini interessante. Il personale è attento e preciso, il servizio ottimo. In due abbiamo preso un piatto di fettuccine al ragù imperiale con fassona, cinta senese e chianina, un risotto ai carciofi e parmigiano, una guancia di manzo stracotta al morellino di scansano con purea di patate e sformato di finocchio e uno sformato di zucchine con lardo di colonnata. Le porzioni non sono enormi, il conto, 79 euro, giusto per la location, il servizio, la qualità del cibo e delle materie prime. Se volete togliervi uno sfizio qui non vi sbagliate

26/04/2025: At Ombra della Sera you can eat divinely! All the dishes we tried had authentic Tuscan flavours. Special praise goes to the kindness of the staff: since there were four of us, they took care of dividing the portions of first and second courses, allowing us to taste a bit of everything. A much appreciated gesture! The final bill was more than honest. If you are looking for a restaurant with excellent cuisine and welcoming staff, this is the right place!

01/06/2025: We felt at home. Punctual, helpful and friendly service. Excellent quality food. Accuracy and ... generous portions. The Tuscan tradition is not lacking. Everything is very well-kept and clean, just how I like it. The restaurant is adjacent to a clearing with a breathtaking view of the Volterra countryside and, even if in the distance, of the sea and the Tuscan archipelago. At sunset it must be superb. A special applause to the owner: Marta. You can see that she puts enthusiasm into it and transmits it to all her collaborators

06/05/2025: Small place located in a very small village on the outskirts of Volterra. Had a divinely good dinner with traditional Tuscan dishes in a simple but refined environment with the very kind owner and waitress. I highly recommend it to those who prefer substance and not form

20/04/2025: The village is worth a visit even just for the friendliness and hospitality of its inhabitants. Unfortunately, however, the restaurant did not completely convince us. We didn't understand if it's under new management, because you can't see the name of the restaurant from the outside, as the sign is missing as in the photos. We liked some dishes, others didn't particularly impress us, others were a bit heavy. The service could improve: sometimes an extra smile is enough to change the experience and make even the moment of emptying your wallet pleasant! And yet the bill in the end seemed a little excessive to us compared to what we ate. I hope the place manages to realize its potential better in the future.

12/05/2025: Nice location, very friendly staff. Wines good!!! Appetizer too. Main course don't take the lamb chops because they are heavily breaded and seem to be fried and therefore ruined. Octopus ok.

06/05/2025: L’ultima visita all’Osteria dei Poeti mi ha lasciato davvero un grande sorriso sulle labbra. Attualmente l’unica realtà volterrana che crea un connubio perfetto tra la tradizione dei gusti e raffinatezza della tecnica, a mio dire. Il sapore dei pomodori confit della tarteletta, una sfoglia incredibilmente leggera e croccante, è deciso e avvolgente. Il petto d’anatra lascia senza parole, davvero perfetto, degno dello Chef che ha arricchito la sua formazione trascorrendo anni a Parigi. Da sottolineare con una nota positiva la responsabile di Sala, precisa, preparata e attenta ad ogni necessità. Consigliato per ogni l'occasione, dalle più formali a semplici soste senza programmi. Grazie Chef, a presto.

12/05/2025: The fresh sandwiches and salads were so delicious. The staff are also friendly. The bathroom is also clean. I was able to enjoy it comfortably. I will definitely come back when I come to Volterra 😍

30/05/2025: Highly recommended, a cute little pizzeria with very reasonable prices! Delicious and friendly, fast service! Oh yes: the restroom will delight any cyclist... ;-) Conclusion: We really enjoyed it and will probably use it again for our final dinner on a future visit to Volterra!

Un ristorante in una location unica ed esclusiva, un panorama mozzafiato, siamo stati accolti con grande professionalità dallo Chef e dal personale di sala, il livello è davvero alto. 06/05/2025: We stayed at the Borgo in May with a group of friends for the second consecutive year. The village welcomes you, pampers you, makes you unplug from the city routine. The highlights are undoubtedly the silence, the beauty of the apartments, the greenery that surrounds the structure, the varied breakfast on the terrace with breathtaking views, the starry vault that welcomes you in the evening, the vegetarian dishes with the touch of Chef Francesco and the kindness of Eleonora who welcomes you at the start of the day with a smile. Not to forget Paolo at the reception always super helpful. We will be back soon.

04/05/2025: Super nice place! Excellent welcome. The room had a beautiful courtyard view and average decor; a television wouldn't have been bad. We stopped for dinner and tried the restaurant's cuisine: homemade tortellini with ricotta, asparagus, butter, sage and cocoa powder, very good. The second first course — tagliolini with pumpkin and pecorino — was good, but average. The breakfast, served on the beautiful panoramic terrace, was very varied and of excellent quality. With a little attention to detail, the terrace would be heaven.

19/05/2025: I don't understand the positive reviews. I wanted to try a real Italian pizza in a restaurant not frequented by tourists and was very disappointed. The pizza was made with potatoes, ham, and porcini mushrooms. The pizza base was thin but hard, the potato slices were still undercooked, and the few porcini mushroom pieces were clearly from ancient specimens (deep green sponges). The taste was not very good. The wine glass was also a bit dirty, and the house wine was also only so-so. Given the reasonable price (€11 for the pizza), you can't complain, but I would have preferred to pay more for quality.

09/05/2025: A typical place, excellent cuisine, you feel at home... Accurate hospitality and service... A place to absolutely recommend in Volterra, with a terrace. Excellent prices.
