Pizzeria da Nanni In Volterra

The pizza is quite unique... greasy and thin... completely different from what they serve in fancy pizzerias, but eating it made me feel like I was transported back in time to mid-20th-century Italy, and that this was the kind of pizza Italian workers ate. 😉 The owners were incredibly nice, and the place had a great homey atmosphere.

No nonsence accomodation: nothing special at first, but we ate the best pizza's ever. Very kind owners.

As always, the right decision was to ignore the touts at the typical tourist traps and instead go to this little restaurant. Sure, it's not exactly the most comfortable place – IKEA folding chairs, hard wooden benches, and no outdoor seating. But the Italian owner was very friendly and kind to us. The wood-fired oven looks really cool, and the pizzas were made with love. So, if you're looking for authentic Italian food and not a quick rip-off, you should definitely choose this little place!

The pizzas are wood-fired and delicious. The Nanni family are lovely and told me they've been serving pizza for over 40 years. I highly recommend you don't leave Volterra without trying this pizzeria!

This tiny pizzeria has been around since I was little, with a uniquely flavorful dough, and after more than 40 years, nothing has changed. Excellent pizza, kind and friendly owners. For us, it's a world heritage site.

Definitely worth a stop in Volterra. Locals coming in grabbing their pizza to go, friendly owners, and the pizza, buonissima!

100% recommended! A small but very cozy place with amazing pizzas! The service was very friendly and the price is great; we had two pizzas and a 1L bottle of water for €19. The best pizza in the area.
