31/08/2024: We stopped by today for a coffee. The kindness and availability shown to us was fantastic. We asked for information about dinner and we are right now having dinner at Trattoria Da Badò in Volterra, as recommended by Sigra. Her homemade cakes are absolutely recommended!! Beautiful people with the right soul! 🧡

12/07/2024: Gezellig restaurant met veel parkingmogelijkheden. De bediening is heel vriendelijk en doen erg veel moeite om Engels te spreken. De kaart is redelijk uitgebreid met een assortiment van tapa’s, pasta’s pizza’s en vleesgerechten. De prijs is heel goed!

06/08/2024: I do NOT recommend this restaurant. Pizzas were very basic and bare. Few ingredients, I've had them much better elsewhere! We ordered 4 ice teas, we were not asked if we wanted a large or a can. As a result, we ended up paying €5 per glass of ice tea. We saw at the bar that the ice tea came from a bottle from Lidl! When I pointed this out, it was simply “too bad for you, we always do this”. Also charge 15% extra - “for the use of fork and knife”….. hmm, special 😂. I would find another restaurant!

05/08/2024: Just good. Very good pizza. Drinks well taken care of. Nice and attentive waiter who thinks along and advises. Nice atmosphere with excellent rock music in the background. You rarely experience that.

28/08/2024: the patisserie bar par excellence in Volterra, certainly the most well-kept place and a historical management that has contributed to making it an important place for our city; I highly recommend to everyone!

19/08/2024: Service was downright bad. Had to wait a long time for the order to be taken. Then forget about drinking. Food did not arrive at the same time. Me and the kids had already finished eating when my wife got her food. No compensation whatsoever. Food was good. And it's a beautiful thing.

14/08/2024: Ottimo ristorante nel centro di Volterra situato in una piccola piazza ottimo in estate ,la proprietaria Nadia molto gentile e simpatica ci propone ottimi piatti sia di pesce che di carne tipici toscani inoltre per i ragazzi un ottima pizza ,che dire lo consiglio ottimi prezzi alla prossima

01/08/2024: We sat at a dirty table and after a few minutes we were told to change our table to a different one, which we did. Then we waited quite long for the waitress to come and take our order. After another 10 minutes a man came to us and rudely told us that he cannot make food for 3 people. We wasted 30 mins, we still we weren’t served and we were met with an impolite attitude from the servers. Stay far away from this restaurant!!

01/09/2024: Molti coperti dalla seduta ristretta: risultato molto scomodo. Prezzi un po alti per ciò che si è mangiato. Tempi lunghi per la comanda.

27/08/2024: Locale molto turistico, dietro al centro di Volterra affiancato da decine di altri locali. Molto bello l'interno, decorato con bottiglie di vino ovunque, anche sul soffitto. Personale attento e molto presente, primi ottimi, su tutti la cacio e pepe al limone e pistacchi e le pappardelle al cinghiale. Sorprendentemente non fanno la fiorentina, ma altri tipi di carne: tagliata ai porcini e lardo (un po' stoppacciosa), costine al bbq, tutto buono ma aceto balsamico ovunque, anche non indicato nel menù, quindi se non piace va puntualizzato. Prezzi un po' alti probabilmente per la posizione molto centrale.

21/08/2024: Dropped in for a quick and easy lunch during a visit to Volterra, we ordered two plates of bruschetta followed by a salad and a cheese plate. Up to the bruschetta it went well, with a fairly quick service, taking away the fact that as we were sitting outside, the surrounding trees that provided shade lost pieces on the table... after about an hour the salad and cheeses still hadn't arrived, we kindly ask where they were as we were in a bit of a hurry and the lady's response was: "MY LOVE, HAVE THE TIME TO MAKE THEM, YOU ALSO ORDERED TWO COURSES" I honestly don't understand the confidence of calling me "my love" as if I were her sister and I underline the fact that we were expecting a salad and cheeses that do not require any type of cooking or complex preparation. Furthermore, the dishes, other than the bruschetta, were not of excellent quality. I recommend learning to respond to customers in a kind and polite way, especially if questions are asked in a polite manner. P.s No, the place wasn't full

16/08/2024: During our walk around the city, we came across Le Cantine del Palazzo somewhat by accident. The digital menu made ordering easier. The food was tasty, the service was very nice.

04/09/2024: Historic location, very nice restaurant and good quality of food! Swimming pool and well-kept garden, the only flaw is the rooms (especially the bathroom) not up to the level of the location

03/08/2024: Lovely place, discreet and welcoming staff. Swimming pool surrounded by greenery....Really pleasant days. Definitely worth returning.

31/08/2024: We stayed here in a "superior" room for 5 nights in August 2024. Location very good (each about 1 hour to Florence, Pisa or Siena), Volterra and San Gimigliano very close by. Good restaurant, breakfast unfortunately mediocre (e.g. only one, pre-cut sort of bread...). The house wine is served in front of the guest from plastic boxes. Pool nice, but clean is different. Too few loungers for all guests. But the worst was our superior room. Fantastically photographed on Booking, but in reality small, dirty, upholstery stank, hardly any light, small wardrobe, bathroom borderline ok. Don‘t want to bokk a standard room! Not to recommend, look for an alternative in this sight and spend 10.- more per night!

29/08/2024: It's bad to want to spend a few days to rest and find yourself faced with all this. A place that has so much potential but totally lacks maintenance. They describe the structure on the website as enchanting but the reality upon arrival is quite different. The scenario changes completely in person but the most unacceptable thing is the sheets that should be thrown away and bought new ones and again the beds? Is it possible to sleep on a wooden table on which mattresses with burst springs rest? Moral: we had to leave after 2 days and with all our best intentions including lower back and neck pain and sleepless nights we didn't make it. The much vaunted swimming pool is totally left to neglect. A ruined holiday!!! The kindness of the staff remains to their advantage, the only service they are aware of giving to the many limitations that the structure presents, they too are resigned to a reality that they cannot change. Finally, despite the awareness, not even being offered a discount. Entrepreneurship doesn't really belong here. I think that going forward if management doesn't change it will end up closing and deteriorating. Overall, I do not recommend this place except for an evening dinner where you can eat well with a beautiful view.

09/08/2024: I often come for takeaway pizza and have never had a bad experience. Of course the location is what it is but they make up for it with the staff who are always friendly and helpful.

21/07/2024: To improve, pizza comparable to one of the worst frozen brands. Affluent dimly lit exterior. Waiting for a bottle of water, for pizza, for potatoes that never arrived. A wonderful evening at the medical center adjacent to the restaurant.
