27/09/2025: We came upon this gem while strolling through Volterra. We chose here to eat because of the incredible aroma coming from their restaurant and it did not disappoint!
We are on our 4th week (of five) of our travels throughout Italy (Rome, Amalfi Coast, Venice, Lake Como and now Tuscany) and our food as well as our overall dining experience here was the VERY BEST so far.
We asked our sweet waitress for her recommendations and ordered the two pasta dishes she recommended. They were delivered to our table and the owner topped them with fresh truffle along with a homemade oil/nut spray he recommended to be put over the scallop pasta dishes. Both meals were full of so much flavor. We had our friendly waitress once again recommend two desserts and we went with those (cheesecake with dates and the tiramisu).I’m not a huge fan of tiramisu, but we chose those two since her first recommendations were spot on. They did not disappoint! Both were light, creamy and delicious. As she brought coffee to the table the owner came over with a bottle of Caramel flavored Amerro with two glasses for us to enjoy on the house.
He later asked us if we wanted to see his cellar and told us the deep history about it. (Highly recommend asking to eat in the cellar-it’s beautiful!)
So I guess the nose knows! We highly recommend doing what we did and follow the aromatic smells to discover the tastiest food with the kindest owner and staff to this beautiful gem of a restaurant.
20/09/2025: Good food, portions not too large, but just right (you won't go hungry).
The staff is friendly, welcoming, and welcoming.
The price is fair for the quality of the dishes, and the wine is locally sourced.

06/06/2025: Mein Lieblingsrestaurant seit 1981 - mit 5 war ich zum ersten Mal in der damals ganz neuen Trattoria, die sich im Laufe der Jahre zu einem hervorragenden Restaurant mit lokaler Küche entwickelt hat.
Es gibt keine „Spielereien“ sondern das pure Geschmackserlebnis aus besten lokalen Zutaten.
Und alles hält die wunderbare Irma zusammen. Der gute Geist und die umsichtige Chefin.

The view from the terrace over the rooftops of Volterra is magnificent. Highly recommended!👍👍👍
05/10/2025: 3 very successful experiences in this bistro (at different times). Beyond the superb view outside (panoramic terrace), the atmosphere is very pleasant. The service is fast (even in the middle of August) and the staff friendly. We ate very well each time and the prices are reasonable for this very touristy village. We will return with great pleasure the next time we are in Volterra.

03/10/2025: Fantastic pizza! Worth a visit. I went back yesterday after six years. The pizza is still delicious. We also tried the carbonara, which was amazing. The house white wine was perfect. Very friendly service. When in Volterra, be sure to stop by for a bite to eat :)
03/09/2025: From the outside, it doesn't look like much, but once inside, it more than makes up for it. The pizza was very tasty, but the seafood spaghetti was worth a solid 10 stars. "Grandma" is a very good and flavorful cook. So, I'll go there again to try out the rest. I'm already looking forward to it.

19/07/2025: Ideale per una pausa prima o dopo la visita a Volterra locale tranquillo con una vista bellissima da qualsiasi tavolo, cucina tipica e parcheggio comodo. Siamo stati qui un sabato a pranzo l antipasto della casa e abbondante crostini ottimi. I ravioli al pomodoro sublimi. Posto incantevole
28/06/2025: La comida era excelente, la vista era magnífica, la factura era razonable, ... e incluso la música de fondo era buena (jazzy suave). ¡Una experiencia verdaderamente memorable!

Tagliolini with white truffle €13.
Below:
Prices for the courses are without truffle.
For each gram of white truffle, an additional €4 is added.
After asking for clarification and ordering something else, I asked for the course and was told that the white truffle was sold out.
They brought me tagliolini with black truffle, spending €20, just for this course.
The doubt remains.
12/09/2025: A beautiful restaurant in a 16th-century building, stretching from the city center on Via Dei Sarti to the outer walls facing the Roman ruins. Over 300 square meters between the basement and outdoor terrace. Very good regional cuisine, excellent service. Fair prices.

The beautiful location and the well-arranged outdoor tables attracted us, but this initial tranquility vanished once we waited over an hour for a first course that was VERY NORMAL—in fact, NOT AT ALL—worthy of its price, which averages around €17 (with truffles costing €26). MADNESS. Once we ordered a Sardinian Fermentino, the waiter arrived with the wine already in the glass, not poured from a bottle at the table—UNUSUAL! In conclusion, I can say that it's preferable to eat a panino à la volè in the streets of Volterra rather than sit down and be ripped off by tourist restaurants masquerading as farms.

22/11/2025: The location is fantastic, as are the à la carte meals and breakfast. The only downside is that they don't offer any activities. They did offer us a wine tasting, but it was at a venue about 40 minutes away by car. Considering you're just there to relax, it's great and has fantastic views.

12/07/2025: I didn't really like the pizza, but I did like the rest... the meatballs and frese were delicious! 5 stars to the young waiter who arrived whatever I asked for in a flash! (For example, water for the dog or help warming the bottle!) The terrace was beautiful.
