What can I say!!! Top!!! The fishmonger's stand is right at the entrance, followed by tables where you can comfortably eat the truly well-cooked fish. The fried fish is delicious. We'll definitely be back.

Walking through the center of Volterra, we came across this fishmonger's restaurant. As soon as we entered, we appreciated the delicatessen display case offering various dishes and ready-made sauces, including cuttlefish and peas priced at €3.90 per 100g. When we sat down and read the menu, we saw that the price per portion was €18, so we imagined it would be a very generous dish, but instead it was probably 200g. Still, very good, but overpriced. The fried food was okay, nothing memorable. Finally, the worst part... The side salad was rotten from the bag and a chopped cherry tomato. I asked for an exchange because it was unsuitable for consumption, and they brought me another ugly-looking salad, probably the remaining leaves from the bag. €40 for 1 cuttlefish, 1 fried dish (squid and shrimp), 1 side dish (....) and two half-liters of water seems excessive to me (also considering the unpretentious location).

Strolling through the streets of Volterra around lunchtime, we decided to stop at this fishmonger's and eatery, tempted by the menu: hot and cold appetizers (shrimp with cream), snapper with clams and artichokes, spaghetti with clams, mussels, and fried fish... Inside, past the fishmonger's counter, there are a few tables where you can have lunch. The courteous and attentive staff served us memorable dishes. The spaghetti with clams was amazing, the fried calamari and cod was melt-in-your-mouth and just the right amount of salt, and last but not least, the inevitable cantucci (delicious and flavored with orange) with Vin Santo. It was a lunch that made our experience in the enchanting village of Volterra even more enjoyable. We'll definitely be back!
