18/08/2025: A simply unforgettable dinner in the heart of Ortigia! We started with a breathtaking appetizer: a fresh, flavorful, and top-quality tuna tartare, which immediately raised the bar. Then came the fried fish: crispy, light, perfectly executed, and accompanied by a truly amazing sauce. But the real spectacle came with the first courses: the shrimp and pistachio spaghetti was an explosion of flavor with every bite—sea and land came together in an embrace that was almost touching. And then... the sea urchin carbonara. Words are insane. A dish worthy of UNESCO World Heritage status, a unique and perfectly balanced combination that deserves every possible applause. The staff? Simply exceptional. The chef deserves an award, and the chef's wife was exceptionally kind, always with a sincere and welcoming smile. We left the restaurant so satisfied that we wanted to take up residence nearby, just to return more often. An experience that goes far beyond just eating: here, you can experience a passion for cooking. Highly recommended!

18/08/2025: Elegant atmosphere, very friendly staff, and excellent food. Definitely worth returning. N.B.: They'll soon be changing their name from "Perle d'Ortigia" to "Osteria Illuminata," but the chef will remain the same. Highly recommended.

28/09/2025: This place was recommended by several people. The pizza experience was quite good; if it weren't for the rest, I would have given it 4/5 stars. What lowered the average was the lack of clarity regarding both the reservation and the service. I called to make a reservation and was told that the table would be occupied by other customers starting at 8:00 PM and would be free as soon as it became available. I arrived at the restaurant at 9:30 PM and, after informing the staff of our arrival, we waited patiently. While waiting at a convenient table outside, we saw our designated table become available at 9:45 PM, but they didn't seat us until 10:00 PM, the time listed in their reservation book. Once seated, we ordered appetizers and pizzas. We chose "peeled potatoes" from the menu and expected them to be the actual potatoes, but instead, they delivered classic French fries. Which in itself isn't a big deal; the problem lies in pointing it out to the waitress, who replied, "These are potatoes with their skins on. When you fry them, the color of the skins has faded, but they're still there," which left us very perplexed. As I said at the beginning, the pizzas are quite good; the problem lies in the lack of clarity in communication. There's nothing wrong with saying "we're out of potatoes with their skins," but what's more annoying is the attempt to mock us, as if we'd never seen potatoes with their skins. I'd come back to try other pizzas; I hope I can change my mind about the rest.

14/06/2026: I'm on vacation in Ortigia and I've tried this place twice for lunch. The food is exceptional, and the staff is professional and very warm. I highly recommend the fried fish and lemon sorbet; I think they're the best I've had so far.

08/06/2026: On the recommendation of the B&B owners, we booked dinner at Tavernetta da Piero, taking the opportunity to visit Ortigia. At the entrance, a blackboard displays the daily specials, which we obviously prefer to the à la carte menu, as it always guarantees fresh ingredients. Rigatoni with tuna ragù, swordfish rolls, grilled red tuna, cannoli... Everything fresh, delicious in its simplicity and flavors, with generous portions. The wine list is quite extensive. Since the restaurant is medium-sized, reservations are required to avoid long waits. Attentive service, and the bill was average—even a little less given the area—and what we ordered. Highly recommended!

03/06/2026: Lovely restaurant next to their fishmonger and right on the waterfront. Very fresh fish and fairly quick service. The only downside was the mixed fried fish, which was practically fishless; only mini shrimp and very greasy. The mixed antipasto, first courses, and grilled meats were excellent and plentiful. The caponata was sublime. The price was in line with the quality of the food.

07/09/2025: A little paradise A very warm welcome from the owners (Gina and Sebastiano), who are adorable, as is the person who served us at table. All the products served come from the estate, which Mr. Sebastiano was kind enough to show us around (we wanted to go for a little jog), and all the food is homemade and delicious. The setting is charming. The room is very pretty and spotless. 100% recommended.

07/11/2025: Stuff - especially young lady - very aggressive and even rude It was not the problem that my request was denied. It was the way it was denied - inhuman and aggressive. I was very hungry, tired and walked long way under the rain to experience the place suggested by house owner and I was surprise the way they treated me When I politely given feedback - both man and women raised their voices ti the level that it did not make sense to stay and invest in that place I am travelling through Sicily for a week and it’s was first time I experienced that low level hospitality
