17/08/2024: I remembered the focaccia from Bar Grotte from a few years ago... unique. Last night, together with my family, we decided to go there, convinced that we would enjoy the same tastes as in the past...not even a hint!! Poor focaccia and rustic dishes, approximate service. Rating 1.

16/08/2024: We are a couple. We wanted to eat a pizza and half a kilo of focaccia, nothing incredible. 8.15pm arrival. The girl who took the ORDERS reached us after 45 MINUTES and moreover in a pissed off manner. I ask for a glass for beer and the answer was "we need the glasses at the counter, we can't bring them to the tables". After TWO HOURS I get up and go to the counter to understand what had happened. The woman behind the counter takes my order ticket (which had been placed in a corner in everyone's queue), puts it in front of me and immediately gives me the focaccia, but not the pizza. I waited another 10 minutes and finally at 10.30pm we had dinner with a decent hot pizza, a focaccia that was now cold and with no appetite left. We paid for this terrifying experience and left feeling nervous. Highly recommended for those who don't have an outdoor seat at home and want to spend an evening outdoors on a plastic chair and a table, but who have already had dinner. The only positive note are the waiters. Attentive, quick and friendly.

06/07/2024: Servizio e cibo pessimo…… in 4 persone 3 pizze sono arrivate assieme e una dopo 15 minuti , pizza cruda e poco condita ..!!

26/06/2024: Infatti la vista sul porto dalla terrazza è in effetti molto bella. Cucina di sostanza ma porzioni più milanesi che siciliane, a cominciare dai crudi e a finire con i primi. Non male la pasta ca muddica e la specialità al fuoco. Il crudo non mi ha particolarmente soddisfatto eccezion fatta per la tartara di tonno tagliata a cubi grandi e condita alla perfezione. Non male anche il dolce ricotta miele e pistacchio. Granita alla mandorla molto al di sotto di quanto assaggiato altrove a Salina. Ricarichi sul vino più alto della media isolana. Servizio molto giovane e un po’ incerto. Rapporto felicità - prezzo non esaltante.

03/09/2024: I miei locali preferiti di Villafranca oggi erano chiusi , costretto a comprare qualcosa in questo locale , nonostante le cattive esperienze del passato , confermato anche oggi 3 settembre ore 14,20 , nulla da mangiare , niente pasta solo pitoni e rustici regolarmente con wurstel , lo schifo dello schifo , opto per una caponata , ma niente pane , pazienza vedrò trovare qualche panetteria , arrivato a casa , scopro che la caponata non.aveva nessuna melenzana , solo patate di quelle che si usano fritte con cipolla e pomodoro , bel locale pessimo cibo. .ma già me lo aspettavo , stavolta si sono superati , cambiate pure personale , era meglio la moglie del rosticciere ci preparava almeno la pasta anche se era troppo al dente però sorrideva sempre

04/07/2024: Nous nous sommes rendus dans ce restaurant recommandé par notre hôtel de Taormine. Déçu. Très belle carte de vin. Salle d’un autre siècle , heureusement il y a la vue , service gentil ,Je m’arrêterai la.

01/06/2024: Location spettacolare (a mio avviso la terrazza con vista migliore sull’isola). Non potrete non apprezzare la gentilezza e cordialità del personale di sala. Prendo solo una tartare di tonno, perché l’aperitivo rinforzato al locale adiacente mi aveva quasi riempito. Purtroppo nella tartare ho trovato più cipollotto crudo, capperi e sale, che tonno… (peraltro a mio modestissimo avviso da un taglio finale, pieno di tessuto connettivo, dunque anche fastidiosissimo in bocca), lasciata quasi integralmente. Apprezzate le scuse del personale di sala e l’elisione di quella portata del conto finale.

11/08/2024: Not recommended beach! The location has nothing to envy of other much nicer restaurants with better service. The food arrived after 2 hours, justified by the fact that the kettle was broken. Too bad that spaghetti was served regularly at the other tables. Top-of-the-line disorganization. Catering is not a job for everyone, but everyone improvises and these are the results.

21/07/2024: I thought my negative experience was an isolated case, but reading the other reviews of the place I realize it's not. Leaving aside the exhausting wait for good but scarce sandwiches (sandwich with chops 80% lettuce 20% chops), the staff is extremely rude. They get the order wrong by bringing the wrong sandwich and when we point it out another employee comes out saying "no, you ordered this". To our disappointment, they come in annoyed to place the right order, resulting in a 30 minute wait for just one sandwich. But the highlight was when, upon entering, I noticed that the classic veal chops were placed together with the chops covered in chopped pistachios (pistachio to which I am strongly allergic). When I point this out, in a whisper so as not to make a bad impression because I have respect even when faced with the rudeness of others, I am told that I should have been the one to point it out and that they are regular in everything. So I point out that if I order veal crumbs, and no allergen is indicated on the menu, I order without worry and it is the place that must review the HACCP regulations especially regarding allergens. It's a shame, it was the first time and also the last, even though we had wanted to go there for a long time with great enthusiasm.

19/08/2024: So, first of all, I would like to point out that the food and the products are all highly valid, the main problem of this place is in communication. At the entrance a sign indicates the possibility, at lunch, to take a platter of cold cuts and cheeses to eat on the spot then you enter and they tell you that today they only make sandwiches (delicious sandwiches full of fillings at a ridiculous price). From this I deduce that the other gastronomic offers (barbecue, etc.) are linked to certain days and times which, if adequately indicated, would not give rise to any misunderstanding. For the rest, the sandwiches were very good, the girl at the checkout was very courteous, so it's an excellent business that I hope to return to on the right day.

08/08/2024: The quality is unquestionable but the staff is incompetent and the owner does not know how to manage customers. At certain times chaos reigns and in addition to being bypassed by other customers, you are treated badly by a neurotic manager who should first of all learn good manners and remember that he runs a place open to the public and not a slaughterhouse. Unfortunately, with great regret, I had to abandon the idea of ​​tasting some good Messina focaccia that I had been waiting for for months! I really hope that someone will reflect on what happened and learn to treat customers and tourists with respect so that they leave positive comments.....
