02/04/2024: I think that good intentions should be rewarded, which is why I rate this place positively, one of the very few vegan alternatives in the city. In any case, I struggle to tolerate the lack of sincerity in the face of the collaborator's statement "everything you see here, vegan, we make", when, in reality, the products come from the Forno D'Asolo in Treviso and are frozen... you can feel that they are, and there is nothing wrong with admitting it, I know very well that there is still little demand in the south. I've been vegan for a while, I live in the north, I travel and I know those croissants, as well as their fillings, some unmistakable (e.g. raspberry and elderberry, figs and almonds), precisely because that bakery distributes most of the bars everywhere in Italy. You can count on the fingers of one hand the pastry shops and bars that produce vegan desserts with their own hands, but you can definitely feel the difference. I feel like responding to the owner regarding a comment he made to a user who expressed doubts about the cost of his ice cream: in Milan, my city of origin and where I live, a small cup or cone with 2 flavors costs from 3, €50 to €4 (with ice cream inside, eh!), and personally I'm happy to spend it if the ice cream is good, even more so if it's vegan :) it's absolutely not true that the food here isn't as good as that of the south , fueling this rift that we have carried with us for too long... we are all citizens of a beautiful country. In my 'metropolis' there are amazing vegan ice cream shops, which make delicious artisanal ice cream and many different flavours, just as there are some in Catania too. There are pastry shops that use excellent raw materials to produce their own vegan croissants, while not offering frozen products and trying to be proactive. I hope this feedback can stimulate you to try producing your own croissants with the wonderful raw materials of your land.

31/03/2024: The granita is excellent. If you pass by here and don't try it, you'll never know what you're missing.

26/03/2024: The place is small but positioned almost on the hemicycle of Piazza Antonello, the monumental heart of the post-1908 urban planning. The owner and the service guys are extremely kind, the service is fast and perfect. The choice of granitas with brioche is practically enormous, above all I recommend the almond one (made with toasted almonds, with an unmistakable aroma and flavour). For lunch then, very low prices and restaurant quality. The menu changes every day and the offer of first courses, second courses of meat and fish and side dishes is tastefully revisited although anchored to the excellent Messina gastronomic tradition. Absolutely worth trying for a lunch break, an aperitif or a breakfast stop. We will be back!

02/04/2024: This is the worst experience I have ever had with a restaurant. My partner and I asked for a table for diner and we were told that there was no table before 20mins. We came back later (20mins later) but we were told that there would not be any table before 15mins (while there clearly was tables available). My partner and I asked if was possible to book for that hour, and here comes the joke: the hostess started to mumble and told us that we would have to be quiet (?). We initially did not understand, so asked what she meant, and she again told us that we would have to be quiet. She left us after that. We understood that she did not want us in her restaurant, which seems crazy… maybe because I was wearing Birkenstocks ? Time to wake up, we are in 2024! Shame on this person and on this restaurant.

03/04/2024: Few tables, nice place. The true flavors of the Aeolian Islands, the herbs, the aromas, the raw materials of the islands, very crunchy homemade bread. Dishes packaged with meticulous care and refinement. The owner Maurizio personally takes orders, competently advises customers and carefully monitors the kitchen and room service. Prices more than fair. Tasting menu at 30 euros including drinks. It is the best place we have frequented between Stromboli and Vulcano.

19/02/2024: Consigliato da un amico il ristorante è molto carino , l’ospitalità è eccellente così come sono eccellenti i piatti dall antipasto al dolce. Le tagliatelle al rosmarino condite con un ragù bianco e i pici al curry una prelibatezza così come l’agnello con pesto al basilico e il maialino nero cotto a bassa temperatura al latte e fonduta di formaggio. Per finire i dolci che abbiamo provato tutti la millefoglie crema chantilly e fragole, cannolo alla ricotta, dolce al bicchiere con crumble cioccolato ricotta e pere e il tortino al cioccolato Consigliatissimo qualità prezzo ottimo Un plauso speciale alla chef che dopo aver terminato al servizio e’ passata tra i tavoli a chiedere come era andata.

24/03/2024: I had the pleasure of having lunch at this charming seafront restaurant and I was absolutely captivated by the experience. The quality of the food is exceptional. Each dish is a celebration of the flavors of the sea!! The seafood appetizer was truly exceptional. The staff is courteous, attentive and professional. The service was impeccable, helping to make the experience even more enjoyable. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to spend a special evening immersed in the beauty of the sea and good food.

19/03/2024: We visited restaurants in February, there wasn't much to choose from as the season hadn't started yet. Tempted by the reviews, we went to Garden da Nino. We ordered pasta with seafood. To start with, we received very good bread, then we were served pasta, which visually looked okay, but the entire dish had absolutely no taste. Like they literally mixed the pasta with some shells and shrimp. There was no smell of any spices/oil/butter/wine or anything. It was a disappointment as we paid over 40 euros for two pastas and water. The decor of the place is also average - maybe they care more about it in the season. Apart from a larger organized group, we were the only guests in the place. On the plus side, the seafood seemed to be fresh. Very polite and nice service.

07/04/2024: Excellent pastry shop! If you want to taste the best Pignolata, (a typical Messina dessert) you must necessarily come and taste what Tanino Saccà, a true master pastry chef, prepares almost every day. The Cannoli are very good, both the classic ricotta ones and the gianduia ones. The care with which the cannoli are prepared is enhanced by the use of peels still prepared by hand in the same pastry shop, renouncing the use of industrially produced peels, which, unfortunately, are now widespread.

08/01/2024: A lovely and family-friendly beach with fair prices and excellent coffee. We spent one of our most beautiful holidays of 2023 here in October. Our then 7-month-old son was so happy there and saw and bathed in the sea for the first time. Grazie mille, ci vediamo!
