19/11/2025: The coffee and arancini were very delicious, and the staff member was a very nice Hungarian-speaking lady! 🫶🏻

07/11/2025: We ordered 3 portions of fish and chips and squid to take away. The food was prepared very slowly. (approx. 20-30 minutes) When paying, it turned out that we could not pay by card, only cash. The paper cone we received contained very little squid, but at least it was expensive. We will not go here again, I do not recommend it.

08/01/2026: Dear [SICILY FOOD], I would like to file a formal complaint regarding what happened this evening at your restaurant. I went to your business with my daughter to eat. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with evident superficiality by the staff, who informed us that we could not sit in the dining room due to a lack of staff, requiring payment in advance as a condition for seating. Although we found this disrespectful to the customer, we accepted. Once we entered the dining room, we found the hygiene conditions unacceptable: the tables and floor were visibly dirty. For this reason, disgusted, we decided not to eat there and to take the food away. The situation further worsened when, during food preparation, while the focaccia was being cut, my daughter noticed a large cockroach on the counter. I immediately reported the incident to the staff on site. Despite the seriousness of the incident, I still paid and left the premises, but I consider what happened to be extremely serious from a hygiene and health perspective and from a customer-facing perspective. I would like to express my profound disappointment and inform you that, in light of this experience, I will not be returning to your establishment. I hope, however, that immediate measures will be taken to ensure adequate hygiene conditions and more respectful customer treatment. Kind regards,

03/12/2025: Nice place, although it could be better managed with a little imagination. It lacks a greater Sicilian touch. If you want to be original, you have to sell only Sicilian and local products and not other goods you find in supermarkets.

09/12/2025: I only ate the arancini with ragù... which I found very good... the service was also discreet but ok... the prices were honest... on the negative side... the cleanliness... a little dirty... the bathrooms then... too dirty... with all the dirty people who pass by there... it needs more attention and a bit more cleaning...

09/01/2026: Bar Progresso is an icon of Messina and has always been one of the bars with the best products. It's surprising to see so many negative reviews, but it doesn't matter. The people of Messina will always have this bar in their hearts, and a few reviews won't undermine their long and excellent work.

29/09/2025: I've been there twice for dinner with other friends. We also met the owner, who is very kind and friendly. The food is excellent. The only small flaw, in my opinion, is the TV always on and at a rather annoying volume. ...But that certainly doesn't detract from the quality of the dishes served, which are also beautifully "choreographed." I highly recommend it.

31/08/2025: Terrible and expensive. I went alone around 1:30 PM and they charged me for two loungers for the whole day, telling me that it made no difference whether I was alone or half a day. €20 for half a day, and I even got the last row. I was hoping to at least relax, but nothing. The distance between loungers was almost nonexistent. No privacy; you could hear everyone else's conversations as if you were part of the same group. To get to the beach, you had to walk right past everyone. To top it all off, my umbrella had no place to put my phone. €20 for a few hours...stolen.

11/05/2025: I have never been to this pizzeria, but I made two home orders. Delivery was on time, hot pizzas. I find the prices very honest without sacrificing the quality of the ingredients.

17/10/2025: The food was delicious, but rather expensive for the small portions. Side dishes aren't included with main courses. The ambiance and service were okay. It wasn't a bad experience, but nothing special either.

29/09/2025: Incredible dining experience! The food was amazing (pasta alle vongole, pasta mare e monti, insalata caprese, pasta pomodoro) and the service was fantastic. We sat outside in a serene and enchanting setting. Loved it so much we went back the next day for lunch. Highly recommend!

13/10/2025: Super bar in a more than convenient location facing the harbor! The food and beverages are carefully prepared, tasty, and flavorful. A lovely, well-kept, clean, and cheerful location. The staff are a plus; the owner, Salvatore, saved me in a necessary emergency! Highly recommended, and above all, thank you.

08/10/2025: As many others have said, it's scandalous what they offer you and what you pay! My sandwich was dry, no oil or condiments, it had one layer of meat and iceberg lettuce for 8 euro!!!! Never again

09/11/2025: The croissants are delicious. Believe me? They're delicious even in the afternoon, when they should be less fragrant. The desserts and breads are delicious. The wholegrain rolls, in particular, are truly special. They even bake the last one in the evening so you can have fresh bread for dinner.

21/09/2025: After calling and being told no reservation was needed, I showed up at 1:50 PM and they told me they'd sold out. They should organize themselves better. Luckily, they were able to find a solution in the area. It's a shame about the location, although basic, it could be better managed! 😮‍💨

22/10/2025: The food in the restaurant is excellent. The breakfast leaves much to be desired. While there was a topping, the first few days were untoasted toast, and from the fourth day onwards, only rusks were available.

05/10/2025: Last night my family and I celebrated my son's confirmation in this wonderful restaurant with huge outdoor and indoor spaces, lots of harmony, warm lights, music, a lovely welcome and (most importantly) quality food, cooked very well by the chef where he puts all his experience in every dish, we fulfilled the dream of making the guests feel good too, leaving them happy with the evening which ended splendidly thanks to the next one
