Young staff, friendly with discretion and absolutely perfect, in my opinion. Let's now evaluate the reason that drives a person to enter a restaurant, the food. We enjoyed a fish-based aperitif. Different tastings, some obvious, others intriguing. All good starting from the bread, continuing with the tastings and in particular with the gnocchi with shrimp and pistachio and concluding with the wine that accompanied the dinner. I forgot an ice cream at the end of the meal was the icing on the cake. Well done.

21/03/2025: As soon as you enter the restaurant you are welcomed by the very friendly owner, a relaxing atmosphere ideal after a day of work, attentive service, varied menu, delicious pizza and grilled fish. Excellent quality/price ratio. I recommend it to everyone

17/06/2025: We discovered this place by coincidence at a moment we were craving for bruschetta. Very delicious and fresh! Cute atmosphere, hidden in a side street away from the crowds. Wide range of menu, many to choose from. Staff are friendly and helpful too. Highly recommended this place if you want to have wine and appetizers

26/07/2025: Siamo stati 3 giorni io e mio marito al b&b ,ci siamo trovati benissimo,camere pulite,fresche,grandi e luminose,una vista mozzafiato,la signora Melania è stata gentilissima, sempre disponibile,il ristorante proprio sotto casa è ottimo,si mangia benissimo, porzioni abbondanti e ben cucinati, complimenti al cuoco, spero di ritornarci presto, consigliatissimo

08/07/2025: The quality of the food is excellent. The quantities could be improved; anyone who has lived in Greece and eaten in authentic tavernas knows that tradition dictates very large portions. The prices are also significantly higher than the original ones, but at least the excellent quality and craftsmanship makes up for it. It's a very relaxed atmosphere; in my opinion, the aesthetics could be improved by following Greek tradition to make the experience more immersive. Otherwise, I have nothing to complain about; they even prepare the dishes fairly quickly.

31/07/2025: Il cibo è buono, su questo nulla da dire, ma i prezzi sono esageratamente alti, al limite del surreale. Per fare un esempio semplice: una forma di pane da 500g viene venduta a €5,50. Tradotto, è come pagare €11 al kg per del pane, a cui si aggiungono €3 per ogni condimento. Quindi, se vuoi semplicemente gustarti una fetta di pane con un po’ di pomodoro o formaggio, ti ritrovi a spendere cifre assurde per qualcosa che altrove costerebbe meno della metà. E come se non bastasse, si fanno pagare anche il coperto, quando in realtà il “coperto” era praticamente inesistente: a stento c’erano quattro tovaglioli contati, nessuna posata al tavolo, e un servizio al limite del minimale. Far pagare un extra per qualcosa che non viene nemmeno fornito è davvero scorretto. Morale della favola, si paga tantissimo e si mangia pochissimo. L’esperienza lascia l’amaro in bocca, non per il gusto, ma per il senso di sproporzione tra ciò che si riceve e ciò che si spende. Purtroppo non ci tornerò più e non lo consiglio a nessuno, proprio per i prezzi troppo elevati rispetto a ciò che viene offerto.

22/07/2025: Se siete a Savoca per mangiare un buon pane cunzato, fermatevi da Il Sambuco. Non vi pentirete. Usano prodotti tipici, alcuni dei quali a km 0, e si sente: ogni morso è pieno di sapore, ben bilanciato e autentico. Abbiamo fatto qualche prova e il risultato è sempre stato lo stesso: ottima qualità, sapori veri, e quel tocco in più che fa la differenza. Il locale è semplice ma curato, i prezzi onesti, l’atmosfera rilassata. Il personale è stra-simpatico, accogliente e gentile. L'unico suggerimento che mi posso lasciar scappare riguarda il branding del locale: con qualche accortezza le potenzialità de "il sambuco" sarebbero completamente sfruttate. Mi viene in mente, per esempio, la possibilità di rinnovare lo stiling, al fine di attirare l'attenzione dei passanti e rendere chiaro di cosa si tratta...A tale scopo anche il rinnovamento del menù non guasterebbe , rendendolo un trifold rappresentativo del locale e che includa una spiegazione del format. Ma questi piccoli dettagli sono perfettamente trascurabili. In conclusione, se vi piace la tradizione siciliana, o la volete scoprire, Il Sambuco è il posto giusto per voi.

18/07/2025: The focaccia, arancini, and mozzarella in carrozza were delicious. The only problem was that the arancini were a bit too salty, and we had to wait a long time for them.

17/07/2025: I've found the old-fashioned deli! Where you had to wait just long enough for freshly baked food, not leftovers on the counter. Everything was delicious! Especially the focaccias, with their light, crumbly, and crispy dough.

26/09/2024: What a lovely time! We had read reviews on Villa Carla and called asking about a cooking class for dinner. The class, the food, the hospitality were all outstanding and lots of fun! Classes are only during the shoulder seasons when they aren’t so busy…we understand why! And the view at sunset is breathtaking.
