10/01/2026: The pizza is very good, but the menu is heavily focused on American cuisine. They offer fries and American-style pizza. There's no salad! At least they have local wine by the glass.

27/10/2025: On Friday evening, a group of friends and I went to try the new American-style pizza. In my opinion, it's not a pizza everyone will like because the crust is very crispy. We loved it; we tried several flavors, and they were all delicious and well-seasoned. The service is a bit so-so, but the atmosphere is nice, the pizza is excellent, and the prices are fair. What more could you ask for?! ☺️

06/11/2025: The gluten-free food is exceptional, they make dairy-free options for those with gluten intolerances. The problem is the rude owners who don't cater to their customers. I politely asked them to put aside a small portion of their food since I live far from where they're located, but they refused. "Whatever you find, you get it." I've never had service like that. Yes, some people shouldn't work. I'm a customer who spends at least €20 every time I go, and they'll never see me again unless I don't eat their croissants. Incidentally, it's better to go on an empty stomach than to go to people like that.

12/10/2025: Truly exceptional gluten-free products (the croissants were delicious). However, the service was terrible: after I twice stated that I was lactose intolerant, they still sold me products containing lactose that made me sick. To prevent such unpleasant situations from happening again, I would suggest greater attention and friendliness towards customers, rather than rude and dismissive behavior.

31/01/2026: THIS EVENING ON 01/30/2026 WE WENT FOR AN APERITIF. I WOULD LIKE TO PREFACE THAT WE ALSO WENT ANOTHER DAY WHERE WE HAD A GOOD TASTE. THE APERITIF WAS THE RIGHT GLASS THE FIRST TIME. AND TODAY AT THE PRICE OF 18 EUROS PER PERSON WE FOUND OURSELVES WITH LESS FISH THAN THE FIRST TIME. AND I ASKED FOR THEM TO CHANGE MY COCKTAIL AND PUT IT IN THE CORRECT GLASS. THEY POURED IT AND LOOK AT IT, HALF OF IT WAS MISSING. BUT NOT ONLY THE WAITRESS WHO MAKES THE MISTAKE IN TALKING TO THE CUSTOMER AND THEY LAUGH IN YOUR FACE. AND THE THING THAT DISGUSTS THE MOST THE CUSTOMER MUST BE SERVED WELL. THE ONLY ONE WHO IS SAVED IS EDU THE BAR ATTENDANT OR THE MANAGER, I DON'T KNOW WHO. BECAUSE HE'S A SERIOUS PERSON, HAVING SAID THAT, I WON'T RECOMMEND HIM TO ANYONE. THEY DIDN'T EVEN DESERVE TO TELL HIM THAT SOME FISH WAS MISSING, TO APOLOGIZE OR TO REMEDY THE MATTER WITH SOMETHING ELSE, BUT WE PAID THE SAME PRICE TO HAVE WHAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN THERE. OPPOSITE THERE'S A NICE PLACE THAT I RECOMMEND. THE FOOD IS GOOD AND BETWEEN QUALITY AND PRICE, ABOVE ALL THE EDUCATION TOWARDS THE CUSTOMER IS BETTER, SINCE THE WAITRESS ALLOWED HERSELF TO MAKE A MISTAKE BY TALKING TO THE CUSTOMER FACE TO FACE INSTEAD OF RESOLVING THE PROBLEM.

29/12/2025: Labes Contemporary Bar is in the centre of Catania near Plaza Duomo. It is an Italian bar with small dishes. We sat on the beautifull terrace and while traffic is not allowed there there is no noise from the street. The restaurant is very cute. We had the famous scallopine Milanese and a salad and good beers and wines. It was very tasty the food. The meals were incredible good and the price was incredible low.

15/02/2026: February 14th, 12:54 am, our order was received at the table... no one said anything to us. We waited a good 15 minutes with a 3-year-old child! After these 15 minutes, a lazy and arrogant employee came to tell us YOU HAVE TO GET UP BECAUSE WE ARE CLOSING AND WE CAN ONLY GIVE YOU YOUR TAKE-OUT ORDER!!!! Asking why we hadn't been notified before since we weren't the only ones inside, and besides, there were other people who had come in shortly before us who had calmly ordered and received everything at the table!!!! He blurted out, "You don't have to speak to me, but to the manager... the manager." If we can call it that, he reiterates, "YES WE ARE CLOSING. WE CAN ONLY SERVE TAKE-OUT ORDER." Quite annoyed because it's not fair or respectful towards a child, especially not so much for us adults but for the CHILD. We requested a refund, since we didn't feel like eating in the car, precisely because it's not the most comfortable with a child! He blurts out, "Okay, sit down, as if he were doing us a favor." Meanwhile, the child is crying because he realized we couldn't sit down... this was the kindness we received from the manager and his very PROFESSIONAL staff... we decide to stay just for the child. In the end, the professionalism continues... An employee asks us to throw the Coke outside in the plants! Because he was cleaning the air in the bins... we go to McDonald's at least twice a week for our little one... But if this is the way you treat customers, we'll definitely spend our money where they welcome us with kindness and courtesy! What you don't know about Because it's not normal to spend €30 and eat oil-soaked fries and a burnt sandwich in 7 minutes!!!!! We understand that there's a closing time, but a manager who knows his job well tells his employees that at a certain time, people who come in must be notified immediately!!! But this is going too far for those who don't want to work... a piece of advice! If you don't want to work or don't like the work you do, CHANGE... there are people who want a job!!!!! Never again!

12/02/2026: Dirty, cold sandwiches, and not in line with the rest of the chain!! Absolutely avoid.

31/12/2025: I wanted to try this place with some colleagues, but I've never made such a bad choice. Rice with tasteless minestrone soup; I had to add salt because it was bland! The surprise was the price: 6 euros! For a first course like this, and even much better, I would have paid 4 euros. The alternative was penne with ragù, but what kind of ragù was it, with only pieces of meat in it? Sorry, this cuisine isn't for you. Never again, I definitely don't recommend it!

16/02/2026: Delicious sandwiches! I went last night with a friend and hope to return soon. Kudos to these owners for maintaining such a high level of bread and ingredients. Well done!

08/02/2026: In Giarre, CT. Piazza S. Francesco D'Assisi, 12. We liked the place. Sandwiches and beers. Good. But we expected a little more. The wait was a bit long and the prices weren't exactly reasonable.

18/01/2026: This was the only one place on Sicily, when we were feeling really good. The service was really nice and helpful and the prices were known from the beginning. It was New Year's Eve, so we got also the champagne, thank you!

01/08/2025: Panineria Smile is a real guarantee! The staff is extremely courteous, always smiling, and ready to satisfy every request with professionalism. But the real highlight is the grilled sandwiches with meat and meatballs, prepared over live charcoal, as per Catania tradition. The flavor is authentic, intense, and truly irresistible. Generous portions, fresh ingredients, and a passion for every bite. A must-try for anyone who wants to eat well and feel at home. Highly recommended!

22/08/2025: The food is excellent, the service is a little less so, because we have to clean the tables before sitting down and the same thing when we leave.

27/09/2025: We're having dinner at the restaurant. The menu says spaghetti carbonara. Okay, I'll order it. I ask several times if they make it a little bigger, and the waitress says okay. The plate arrives, along with a small baking dish, while I complain that the carbonara arrives cold. I'll let you imagine. Then, when I get home, I see the receipt. I see it written down. €26.00. I phone. At the restaurant. They tell me their policy is so big and it means two portions, and I'm in the business. I'm ashamed that I belong to this category. Restaurants used to exist today. No longer just a pursuit of the god of money.

02/06/2025: Lascio questa recensione con l'amaro in bocca perché avevo un bel ricordo di questo pub negli anni passati. Sono andata a bere un drink insieme a mio marito e ci hanno fatto accomodare in sala, dove eravamo gli unici clienti. Ho notato subito il rettangolino di carta che ci hanno messo a mo' di tovaglia ma non pensavo ci avrebbero fatto pagare 3 euro di coperto per quello, anche perché avevamo solo preso 2 drink. Al momento di pagare, abbiamo chiesto EDUCATAMENTE per quale motivo stessimo pagando quei 3 euro di coperto quando non era stato offerto nessun servizio di allestimento del tavolo(=tovaglia, tovagliolo, posate, piatti, bicchieri). Se il proprietario ci avesse risposto altrettanto educamente spiegandoci magari che il coperto è obbligatorio e serve a coprire le spese del locale, del personale etc avremmo pagato senza battere ciglio. Invece il proprietario ci ha trattati come dei pezzenti invitandoci ad andarcene senza pagare e accusandoci di creare discussioni, alzando la voce e con un fare maleducato, interrompendoci più volte. Mi dispiace per il personale evidentemente in imbarazzo per la reazione esagerata del proprietario. Chiaramente abbiamo pagato i nostri drink come giusto che sia, ma avrei preferito lasciare quei 3 euro come mancia alla cameriera che è sempre stata gentile.

29/12/2025: A truly excellent pastry shop in every way. As soon as you enter, you're greeted by the aroma of fresh pastries and a welcoming, welcoming atmosphere. The products are of the highest quality: beautifully balanced pastries, soft brioches, and simply delicious cakes. You can sense great attention to detail and the finest ingredients. The staff is friendly and available, even during the holidays! Besides the pastry shop, I highly recommend everything else, including the hot food and deli! A place I'll happily return to and I absolutely recommend to anyone who loves authentic pastry.

27/12/2025: Extremely rude staff: I asked about the cakes, and the clerk dismissively and arrogantly replied, "They're all on display right there." During the endless wait, while they were tapping out the receipt I had expressly requested, I asked to use the restroom, and an equally arrogant clerk replied, "I've already cleaned it." The cake was awful. I strongly advise against even approaching it.

15/07/2025: Not a good place to have breakfast Unfortunately poor management
