17/08/2025: Coffee worth its weight in gold, half-cold €2.80, August arrives and everyone, even the people of Messina, become foreigners. I felt, to say the least, fleeced. And to think that I stop often throughout the year (or perhaps I should say "I stopped") 🙈

16/08/2025: After a day at the beach for Ferragosto, on the recommendation of some friends, we decided to stop at this bakery on our way home. We tried several products: traditional focaccia, Norma focaccia, pitoni, and arancini (both with ragù and 'nduja). Of all the products, the one that struck me the most was the arancini with 'nduja: stringy, flavorful, balanced, and truly delicious. As for the focaccia, I wasn't convinced: the dough was very biscuity, more like a biscuit than a focaccia. It also had too much tuma cheese: after just two bites, it felt heavy and cloying. The pitoni have the classic Messina dough, which I personally don't like, but I have to say the filling was good. One thing that left me perplexed was the prices, which I found quite high compared to the local average: focaccia at €15 per kilo and rustici at €2.80 each. In conclusion: I really enjoyed the arancini all'nduja, but between the focaccia and the pitoni (which I didn't like), I don't think I'd go back.

09/09/2025: It might be a nice bar, BUT! It's a "lucky" place where rude young people gather every night until 5 AM! They make noise with their scooters and shout at the top of their lungs! Why don't the owners bring chairs inside? It's terrible, the whole complex is forced to listen to these rude young people!!!

21/07/2025: Cheap, that’s for sure. Staff is a bit tired and a mess - not everyone but some of them forgot about half of our order and we had to remind them No light at the bathroom Pizza ok, a bit burned.

31/07/2025: At this bar, you can find the REAL granita from Messina. The owners, friendly, smiling, and kind, offer a product that's almost impossible to find in new-generation bars and ice cream parlors anymore. I personally had a peach granita with cream and brioche. #chetelodicobarre

11/07/2025: Too old-fashioned. It felt like going back 20 years, if not more. The food was like eating in a traditional cafeteria. It needs a major renovation, both inside and out, including the outdoor veranda (a canopy made of iron pipes and covered with insulated sheet metal). The prices, in my opinion, are out of line with what's on offer.

16/08/2025: The pizzas were good. The service, unfortunately, was not (the staff were exclusively teenagers). Then came the big downside: we wanted to pay (€30), but didn't get a change (€70). The guys just kept serving us. Even after repeated requests, nothing happened. We noticed that an Italian at the next table had the same problem and was already complaining loudly. Still, no response. I went in and fussed until I finally got my money. The unfriendly owner spent ages searching through the cash register until she finally found a few bills. The restaurant was extremely poorly prepared.

13/07/2025: 45€ per cosa, esattamente? Un menù fisso che sa di fregatura. Sono stato a La Bettola dei Marinai con la speranza di gustare un buon pranzo vista mare, ma sono uscito con la sensazione di essere stato truffato. Il famigerato “menù fisso” da 45€ a persona è una trovata ben confezionata per attirare clienti e svuotar loro il portafoglio senza offrire nulla di realmente all’altezza del prezzo. Nessuna trasparenza su cosa includa esattamente il menù, nessuna possibilità di scelta, e soprattutto un'esperienza che non vale nemmeno la metà di quanto pagato. Alla fine il conto arriva senza sorprese… ma con tanto amaro in bocca: 135€ in tre per qualcosa che altrove sarebbe stato classificato come “menù turistico” da massimo 20€. Un’operazione ben studiata per sembrare autentica, ma che puzza di marketing ingannevole lontano un miglio. Non tornerò, e consiglio a chiunque di informarsi bene prima di sedersi. Unico aspetto positivo.. i ragazzi che lavorano li come camerieri

02/06/2025: Very nice hotel, there is a breathtaking view that leads directly to the sea, the room was clean and tidy, the food was quite good, for the rest it was a good holiday. To return!

25/08/2025: Excellent pizza...very light dough and fresh, high-quality, and generous toppings. The sushi was sublime! The staff were very friendly, from the guy who answered the phone to the girl who greeted us, to the guys who took care of table service. The place is beautiful, with soft lighting on the terrace and background music...even our little dog was made very welcome! We'll definitely be back. Really well done!!!

Pietro the conserge, Norman doc, but.on the.false line of Lucio with...top dishes, right staff.relationship Excellent quality/price. Fantastic sea and dishes with the scent of the sea. It's worth it, Claudio, an exceptional lifeguard always ready and unavailable... fully operational. Excellent aperitifs So..off we go, friends.and good Sicily..lots of stuff.. .

26/07/2025: We were drawn in for a quick aperitivo. The place is very chic, but the service was slow and inattentive. We were the only ones waiting, along with another couple, and we weren't served on time. Aperol and Campari Spritz were served in hard plastic cups and watered down. The price was too high.

18/08/2025: The pizza is good, a little on the low side, but overall it's ok.

03/08/2025: The staff were very friendly and helpful. We felt at ease and spent a lovely evening in the cool of the woods.
