14/03/2025: It's difficult to find kindness of this level. We placed an order for small packs of oil to use as favors for a communion and during transport one bottle lost and stained 7/8 packs which were not usable. I asked the oil mill to be able to have the empty packages and a small bottle that had been consumed and wasted. Everything was sent to me for free, without asking for a contribution and on top of that they gave me two more packages identical to the ones purchased. As if that wasn't enough I was told to write if I still needed it. What else to say... There are very few companies (and people) that have this work philosophy now! All the compliments possible! The "scrocchiarella", which wasn't on the menu, was excellent, as was the focaccia which they bring to you immediately as soon as you sit down, but they make you pay for it even if you don't ask for it. They need to learn a little better how to treat customers.

03/03/2025: In Trani to train, in Trani to taste. The place was recommended to us by a friend on a diet, who does not give up good food when invited. At the end of the commitments, the direction was now decided. The city center was the destination. Once we reached the Taverna Portanova, we had some slight difficulty finding parking. The location features stone walls and a wooden ceiling. On the back wall a reproduction of the ancient city of Trani which, overall, gives the impression of entering a place from another era. Welcoming and seated, we asked for further information on what was on the menu. The reading had tickled the idea of ​​Paella, but it would have been better to warn beforehand. Paella preparation times are not suitable for those whose time is limited. We opt for a mixed starter “Portanova”. Catalan-style prawns, browned octopus salad with potatoes, fried calamari, morsels of mozzarella and ricotta, tuna tartare with caper tips, white parmigiana with freshly grilled aubergines, not classically fried. Accompanied by the inevitable basket of bread and taralli. Delightful! First we enjoyed troccoli with seafood and cavatelli with monkfish, rocket and cherry tomatoes. Accustomed to shared tasting, to my palate, the latter had an edge. Nice experience, definitely recommended.

24/11/2024: Normal food, but exaggerated prices for the location and quality and for some dishes the quantity. Can you pay a Ciccio €6+1 for burnt wheat flour =€7? A Ciccio €7? Are we in Rome or Milan?. You can check what I'm saying on their menu. Can a fruit plate with 4 pieces of cheese and 8 slices of salami be paid €12? I repeat, fruit plate, not cold cuts platter. We really like to go out and meet other new places to have alternative choices, but in this place my opinion is no. Quality/quantity/price does not deserve.

17/11/2024: Personale educato e disponibile. Sono rimasta colpita da come preparano il cono (non il classico modo dove il gelato viene preso e messo sul cono) hanno tutta una lavorazione. I prezzi sono giusti, e il gelato è veramente ottimo. Consigliato!!! Ci tornerò sicuramente.

10/03/2025: It may also seem not in line with all the reviews but.... we arrive and a sterile controversy arises for not having warned that we were with a cavalier king (in a dedicated stroller...)... and in fact the one who was unnecessarily agitated for no reason was the owner... then a surprise fixed menu... final I mean... €60 per head without wine and with negligible portions... in Bari I would have had a feast of fish.... Even if in the end he tightened my grip hand🤣🤣🤣🤣 no comment😅

02/03/2025: It is a mixed place, the location is lovely and the servers were nice HOWEVER - the food tried to be sophisticated but lacked in execution, either too salty or buttery creamy or missed the point. and the price was too high in our opinion for the food, . Looks like others had a good experience maybe this was an off day for them
