15/06/2026: The location is simply stunning, in the heart of beautiful Trani. The veranda overlooking the castle is a gem worth the visit alone. Saverio, one of the hosts, was exceptional: he welcomed us with warmth and professionalism, and at the end of the meal, he kindly offered to take us on a tour of the restaurant. We had the pleasure of discovering the upper floor and the terrace, which I already imagine would be extraordinary on a summer evening and which will be the perfect setting for the second tasting menu, which we can't wait to try. Chef Stefano Di Gennaro's cuisine is a true celebration of Puglia and Trani traditions: local ingredients treated with respect, technique, and identity. It was a privilege to meet him in person and congratulate him directly. We will definitely be back.

04/06/2026: What started very strong ended up being a mediocre dinner. Not sure that Michelin got this one right… sea urchin pasta tasted overly fishy- my sea bass was burnt and overcooked and served with greens which tasted frozen. The deserts had an overly fragrance taste.

01/05/2026: I had the pleasure of dining at Casa Sgarra, and I have to say it was nothing short of sensational. The setting is extremely refined and elegant, but the surprising thing is that it never makes you feel wrong or out of place. The welcome is warm and they pamper you from start to finish, starting with the delicious welcome amuse-bouche. You can taste the passion and precision with which the dishes are prepared in every flavor. You taste each dish and it's natural to say, "Wow, what a blast!" For example: I'm not particularly fond of fish, yet the calamari as an appetizer was spectacular. The suckling pig was also wonderful, cooked and treated to perfection. My partner chose amberjack (for his main course) and was more than thrilled! The value for money is exceptional, especially considering the high quality of the cuisine. It's an experience I highly recommend and a place I would definitely return to with great pleasure.

27/05/2026: I visited this restaurant last weekend. The atmosphere inside was truly stunning. The French-style decor is very welcoming, with well-arranged tables. The seafood is truly top-notch. The creativity in creating new flavors and culinary combinations is evident. The surprising, carefully cooked appetizers add that extra touch of excitement to the subsequent first course. In fact, for my main course, I chose excellent seafood cavatelli, which not only tasted delicious, but also smelled truly of the sea; evidence of the freshest ingredients, and, I repeat, of high quality. The table service was exceptional. The preparation and passion of the owner, Mr. Ivan, were excellent. He not only announced the vast menu selection, but also described the contents of each course. High quality at a fair price. Truly satisfied. I will gladly return. Highly recommended.

27/05/2026: Veronique We tend to travel on a budget. But a little something special is always welcome. This evening, on the recommendation of our host, we treated ourselves to a visit to a traditional Apulian fish restaurant. We were greeted warmly and with appropriate courtesy, feeling like we belonged alongside the Italian gentlemen's club, the couples from different backgrounds, the tourists, and the locals. The owner was justifiably proud of what the restaurant offered: instead of a hundred different specialties, a selection of excellent dishes featuring fish, prawns, and other seafood. The food tasted fresh and was perfectly paired with sauces, delicately cooked, and the octopus was superb, just like in São Bento, Porto. The atmosphere was cheerful and relaxed, without excessive noise. The philosophy, the pride in the product, hadn't devolved into ideology or preaching; the conversation remained light and open. The food and wine lived up to the menu's promise. It was an excellent end to our Apulian experience. Thank you so much, Trani and Veronique.

31/05/2026: Unfortunately, our experience at this renowned restaurant was marred by a truly disappointing incident, which I find unacceptable for a venue of this caliber. My daughter attended a friend's birthday party at the restaurant and, as is customary, left her jacket in the cloakroom area, receiving a corresponding number. At the end of the evening, when it was time to collect the item, the jacket was missing. What made the situation even worse was the management's complete lack of support and availability: when my daughter insisted, the owner simply replied that there was nothing she could do and that she would have to ask her friends, implicitly suggesting that someone else had taken the jacket. It is inconceivable that such a disservice could occur in a venue renowned for its quality and prestige. Cloakroom management should be impeccable to prevent items (which may also be highly valuable) from being lost or stolen. A modicum of professionalism and willingness to try to resolve the issue would not only have been desirable, but also necessary. Unfortunately, this experience demonstrates a blatant superficiality in guest management, completely at odds with the establishment's reputation.

First of all, the location is enchanting: I enjoyed it during the day, and I can imagine that glimpse of the sea in the evening or at sunset from the beautiful covered terrace. The interior dining room is truly magical; it feels like dining in an ancient manor with soaring vaults. The restaurant pays close attention to its guests' well-being, and you can tell from the moment you enter; the staff and owners immediately put you at ease. The service is impeccable, top-notch: attentive to individual needs, ready to help without being intrusive. Each dish is explained in meticulous detail... the problem is, you'll want to try everything. The ingredients are top-quality and expertly prepared in the kitchen; the fish is served both cooked and raw in a variety of appealing ways, without distorting the natural flavors of the freshest produce. While waiting for your dishes, you'll be tempted by the various types of homemade bread, accompanied by Apulian olive oils, a great way to promote the region. The culinary experience is complemented by the taste and aroma of the selection from the well-stocked wine cellar. We continued to favor the local area with excellent, top-quality Apulian wines, recommended by the talented sommelier. Compliments to the table service staff, especially the talented Gaetano, who is attentive to pampering guests without ever intruding on their space; I'd call him a gastronomic consultant. The price is absolutely in line with the quality of the food and the wine cellar.

14/06/2026: A tavern with refined dishes. In addition to the dining room, they have several tables in an internal courtyard. Attentive service. We each had an appetizer and a first course. The bill for two people was €67, and everything was delicious.

We appreciated that the appetizers were served one at a time, so we could savor them without having too many flavors in our mouths right away. The pettole, served several times during the appetizer service, were truly spectacular. The food is undoubtedly high-quality and expertly prepared. I highly recommend a stop.

The use of raw ingredients is excellent, especially the pasta with sea urchins, which were treated with respect without negatively altering the flavor, preserving their authenticity.
