13/05/2026: Tonight we went out for dinner at Osteria del Castagno because we were staying at an agriturismo nearby. Upon arrival, they were unaware that we had made a reservation. The waiter who arrived later served us well; the starter was good, but my main course was raw and cold. I had ordered a tournedos with rosemary and oil; it was really cold and raw. The waiter took it back but returned it raw—warm, though it had been reheated in the microwave. I know very well how a tournedos is prepared. The waiter wanted to take it back to the kitchen again, but I didn't want that anymore... I had asked for it more well-done. The waiter didn't speak English, so a lady came over who spoke directly to my husband in a downright rude manner. I tried to intervene, but she really just attacked my husband. We weren't being rude, but we felt the meat wasn't cooked properly. She said that it is normal in Italy for meat to be eaten raw and cold, which we didn't believe, so she walked away incredibly angry and left us sitting there. We went to the cashier to pay, where she stood and immediately started insulting us again, saying that we didn't had been treated well and were rude and walked away, the waiter who was friendly helped us further, I didn't want to pay for the meat, he handled this properly, the young lady even said the f word to my husband as we walked out the door, sorry, that is not how you treat your guests, and not my husband either... not even if you are probably the owner, we are tourists and have a lot of respect for the surroundings and the country of Italy and their customs but did not expect that if the food is not good we are not allowed to mention it and are dismissed as tourists... thank you Deborah or Camilla, whoever you are, for treating your guests like that... it is your income and your future... we therefore hope that you are doing well, we wish you all the best... 06/05/2026: A lovely place in the middle of Tuscany. Great service and good food. An ideal stop.

02/06/2026: The wait staff was so nice and gave us some great recommendations on food and drinks! Cocktails were 6 euros and a great value! We enjoyed the pesto gnocchi and the sausage calzone, as well as the cheese and pepper pasta (can’t remember actually name) to eat!

02/06/2026: Good food, friendly staff, high prices (but we're in Florence). I didn't like the fact that a waiter made fun of some customers by saying "they don't even know how many there are". I was alone and asked if it was possible to reduce the starter and make it for just one person, and he said no (it would have been enough to reduce the food, smart guy!) I don't think I'll be back.

23/05/2026: 1 peppered mussel dish, neither praise nor infamy Spaghetti with clams, half-open I don't recommend lunchtime, or at least not at 2 pm...they didn't kick us out, but it's close €35 wasted

03/05/2026: I went on a Sunday evening and it was not too packed. I can only comment on tonight’s meal and it was amazing. For my palette, this was the most perfectly cooked and seasoned seafood salad and octopus. The octopus was tender and flavorful. I ended with a perfectly balanced tiramisu cake. The staff was wonderful and attentive, music was a lovely blend of classic romance songs. Thank you for a fantastic meal, I hope others will share the same sentiment!

24/05/2026: You cannot have a coffee at 11h in the morning, they send dozen of people back saying terrace is for lunch. Worst experience in Florence of the whole week. Never had such bad service.

23/05/2026: Delicious lamb ragu pasta looking out over the square with a glass of Chianti. The atmosphere was calm and classy but the prices are reasonable. My waiter was very nice and polite.

06/06/2026: Reservation under the name “Martina”, table for 6 people, 02/08/2025, we were at the table near the bathrooms, on the corner; I repeat that the only person to leave the table was me, who as I was leaving said goodbye to the gentleman who serves the tables, Masini I think.

25/05/2026: Excellent lunch. Very tasty first courses, especially penne all'Aconese. Tender and delicious sliced ​​steak with porcini mushrooms. Definitely worth a try. Excellent value for money.

27/05/2026: Went to this restaurant 2 nights in a row.. You can never go wrong with any of their dishes here. My personal favorite will be any pizza with sausages and the Tuna tataki! Staff was attentive and friendly! Mostly local clientele since this is not at the historic city centre.
