10/07/2026: I highly recommend this place! The food is inexpensive for the quality and quantity, there's a wide variety of choices, the service is fast, and the staff are locals. In short, it's the perfect place if you're looking for authenticity!

14/06/2026: First restaurant in Florence and it was excellent. I had the stracciatella and zucchini pasta, it was delicious! Note that pizzas are not available at lunchtime.

28/07/2026: We were looking for an authentic Italian meal this evening after a long day of exploring and Maso did not disappoint. Everything from the wine to the food to the service is absolutely 5 stars. The crostini toscani and seafood tagliatelle were stand outs for us, and the lemon sorbet was so light and refreshing. Thank you!

26/07/2026: A fantastic restaurant in Florence with great value for money. The waiters are attentive and polite. It's a wonderful place that offers complimentary bread and Parmesan cheese with the pasta.

11/05/2026: Following our meal last night, I wanted to share my experience. We arrived early without a reservation, but were still warmly welcomed. The two pizzas we tried were delicious. Thin and crispy crust, at least 35 cm in diameter, and generously topped. The price was competitive, half the price of those on the French Riviera. The same goes for the desserts. The service was quick and efficient. They also offer takeaway pizzas. They don't speak French, but the menu is in Italian and English. I highly recommend it.

19/07/2026: The pizza has the most delicious dough I've ever tasted, and it's easy to digest. Usually a takeout pizzeria, but you can dine in in the adjacent dining room. Super friendly and fast service!

14/08/2026: Delicious pizza served by an extremely friendly family. Especially convenient if you just want a quick pizza while visiting the city. The prices for food and drinks are also very reasonable.

14/08/2026: À bit of fixture in Oltrarno, Florence, this tiny little pizzeria has never much appealed because it’s so cramped & looks so uncomfortable inside.. However passing by as I frequently do, I just happened to notice that they’re promoting mini- calzones >> CALZONE being a little known offshoot in the World of Pizza. Essentially looks like àn Italian version of an English pastie but the filling is likely to be mozzarella or ricotta with boiled ham! The pizza dough is folded into half over the mounded fillings> then baked as if it were.. à pizza! I was intrigued here because they showed variations of fillings-& they UNUSUALLY were 1/2 normal size : perfect for one person! So today I tried it out ..& now I wished I’d not bothered. I feared that the little dahlings being on show in the window might indicate they were not being made to order ~ & sadly that turned out to be true > pre-made ..your selection is just re-heated. Strike One. I ordered a glass of red wine, selecting my choice from à display on MY side of the counter.. which seemed to indicate you poured yourself > but I was not given a glass so I supposed in fact there was table service after all ( even though only one chef/ person was in attendance… so down I sat at one of the 5 only tiny square tables.. & shortly afterwards my warmed (!) baby “calzonico!” was brought to table.. by a second person now who had subsequently arrived on duty…but zero vino . Strike Two. I signalled for wine & it finally came.. Then I realised that there were no condiments ON any table..& I discovered ( wasn’t informed) that out of sight there’s a tiny ledge of oils, vinegars etc YOU MUST GET FOR YOURSELF..& this is damned difficult in this cramped space ! Strike Three. But I managed, & finally began to sample my ( not so warm by now) baby calzone - I’d chosen the classic version of mozzarella & cotto . The dough was more akin to soft warmed bread than pizza crust ..& the filling carelessly made with all the ham rolled up on one side +the cheese alongside it: 2 rows surrounded by fluffy bread.. yuk. I left most of the ugly casing & ate only the (decent) cheese & ham : washed it down with my mean 100 ml bicchi pour.. €6 .. and went to pay the bill. I was astounded to find theyd had the cheek to add a ridiculously superfluous €2 COVER CHARGE > especially seeing there had been absolutely NO service worth mentioning! This is not a destination for a serious CALZONE lover - & I frankly doubt anyone who loves pizza might ever wish to go there either.. Not Recommended. At any level whatsoever.

12/08/2026: We went there on Sunday, and we're back again (Tuesday). It's excellent, very calm, and fantastic! Well done to the team! Keep up the good work! However, we went back and ordered the set menu with a super spicy dish without being warned... so that's a shame! Just order the pasta; it's excellent, but not the meat dish.

11/08/2026: We went to this restaurant for dinner; it's easy to reach on foot, just steps from Santa Maria Novella. The waiter was very helpful, but what disappointed us was the food. We had an appetizer of cured meats and polenta, but nothing exceptional to my taste. For first courses, we had pici al peposo and pappardelle with duck, but these too fell short of expectations. The flavors weren't quite as impressive; it felt like a quick homemade dish with ready-made sauce. Dessert didn't live up to expectations either; we both had caramel cheesecake, but it was pretty bland. The bill came to just under €100, for a dinner that wasn't even half the price in my opinion, but generally in line with prices in the city center. I don't usually write negative reviews, but I don't think we'll be returning.

04/08/2026: Fantastic pizzeria, very good, the classic dough reminded me of my grandmother's pizza, which was made at home in the countryside, exceptional and very tasty and worth trying because it deserves it. My only advice is to modernise a little more, not too much, little by little, and you will become number 1.

09/08/2026: I'd been to this restaurant before and had a good experience, which is why I decided to return. Unfortunately, this time the experience was very disappointing, and honestly, I don't think I'll return. There were three of us and we had made reservations. We ordered an appetizer, which arrived fairly quickly and was really good. Next, we ordered two fried fish dishes and a fish and potato dish. About half an hour after the appetizer, instead of receiving our dishes, the waitress came to tell us that the fried fish was out and that we should choose something else. We therefore ordered other dishes in place of the two fried dishes and, of course, had to wait again for our food. When the fish dish finally arrived, unfortunately the potatoes were of terrible quality: they seemed to have been prepared the day before and simply reheated. The rest of the food was decent, but overall the experience was far below expectations. I also ordered an Aperol Spritz, which cost a whopping €10, but I was completely blown away. All I could taste was the tonic water; there was absolutely no Aperol or alcohol. It was like drinking water and tonic water. Having had Spritzes at many other places, I can honestly say this was one of the worst I've ever had, especially considering the price. What left me most perplexed was that when we arrived at 8:30 PM, the place had very few tables occupied. So I wondered how the fried fish was already sold out, especially considering we had booked and it was still early in the day. I'm sorry to leave a negative review, especially because I've had good experiences here in the past, but unfortunately, this time the service and organization disappointed me.

06/06/2026: Reservation under the name “Martina”, table for 6 people, 02/08/2025, we were at the table near the bathrooms, on the corner; I repeat that the only person to leave the table was me, who as I was leaving said goodbye to the gentleman who serves the tables, Masini I think.

25/05/2026: Excellent lunch. Very tasty first courses, especially penne all'Aconese. Tender and delicious sliced ​​steak with porcini mushrooms. Definitely worth a try. Excellent value for money.
