03/01/2026: The service was extremely disappointing. We had to wait forever for water, food, and the bill… no apology, no explanation. The food was okay, but having to wait that long for it was definitely not worth it.
07/11/2025: We went for an aperitif at the
Lo Scalo restaurant. It had a lovely, welcoming atmosphere and was very clean. We sat inside, which was well-heated, and ordered the platter of cured meats and cheeses. The flavors were excellent, authentic, and of high quality. The fried gnocco was SUPERB!!!!
The seafood spaghetti was delicious, as were the fillet steak and the pizza. In short, everything was perfect.
The kindness of the waiter and the sweetness of the owner were unique on Lake Maggiore. We'll gladly return to be pampered again.
Highly recommended.

14/07/2025: In the area for work, I accidentally discovered this small bar in the pedestrian streets of Mondovì's historic center.
The lunch menu offers a limited selection of well-presented dishes, excellent quality, and generous portions.
The staff is friendly and quick with their service, and the quality/price ratio is excellent.
Perfect for a quick lunch! 👍

02/01/2026: This restaurant serves home-style cuisine at very reasonable prices. The atmosphere is homey, with vintage photos on the walls. We loved the farinata.
16/11/2025: Too bad...I had fond memories of it a few years ago, but I didn't find the atmosphere I remembered. Everything was very neglected; the place has become gloomy, sad, and unwelcoming.
The dishes and menu are still the same as back then, but they're also "neglected."
I'm sorry, but for me it's lost a lot of "points."

02/12/2025: Salami sandwich left with the salami skin on!!! It's a terrible feeling when you eat it!
The dessert section needs a rethink; the dry pastries are served alongside the cream puffs, so the baci di dama (lady kisses), biscuits served cold (from the fridge!!!).
The service was rather lazy!!!
10/08/2025: A café and pastry shop in the historic center of Ceva, with a porticoed terrace. Tastefully decorated, the tables are too close together. Service is slow, at least during the recommended time of day. The pastries are tempting. The breakfast brioche is generous, but the classic cappuccino, at €3.30, is overpriced.

03/01/2026: I don't know if anything has changed since previous reviews, but tonight most of the food came from pre-packaged bags stored in the freezer. Preparation consisted of microwave or steaming and then topping with sauces. Totally disappointed expectations.
03/01/2026: Total disappointment. Reading the previous reviews, I expected a whole different level of service. Most of the food was frozen and reheated in the microwave with impunity in front of diners. The sauces and condiments were completely out of place. The flavors were all the same and almost nonexistent. I honestly wouldn't recommend it.

And last night, it was excellent as always.
I highly recommend it.
09/11/2025: The prices are low, but the food quality isn't great either. We ordered burgers and sausages: the sausages were pretty good, but the burgers weren't real burgers, but rather the kind made with meatloaf and not ground beef (probably the ones at Metro). Plus, the menu says €6 for a dish, and they charged us €7 each (and they even gave us regular fries, even though the menu said they came with fries and dip). You're not going to die, for goodness sake... But that's not the right thing to do...

11/09/2025: We visited Barolo after a few years and once again chose Antico Caffè for a refreshment stop. The sandwiches are fabulous, as are the toasted sandwiches and cakes. The staff is incredibly friendly, and it's a real treat to find such welcoming, friendly, and professional people. We'll definitely be back!
