06/06/2026: Recent has dinner here in our last few nights in Italy and unfortunately, the service left us feeling unwelcome from the moment we arrived. When we asked about sitting inside, the waiter abrasive said no, so we sat outside. We asked about gluten-free options and he led us to believe he was bringing additional information or a menu. He never returned with a menu, and we eventually had to ask another waiter, who explained that the gluten-free options were listed under the secondi section of the same menu. Throughout the meal, we noticed that every other table received bread while we were never offered any. It may have been an oversight, but it added to the feeling that we were being treated differently. The food itself was inconsistent. The seafood ravioli was enjoyable, but the cacio e pepe was the worst I had during our trip to Italy. It was drenched in cream and extremely salty, which is not what I expected from this classic dish. My son’s fettuccine with mushrooms was just average. My husband’s seafood ravioli was good, and my daughter, who needs gluten-free options, enjoyed her steak and broccoli. Those dishes are the main reason I’m not giving a lower rating. Another frustrating part came at the end of the meal. After asking for the bill, we waited about 20 minutes before I finally stood up to look for someone. One waiter was hanging out in the hallway, and the other was talking to another table. When I asked again, I felt as though I was being treated as an inconvenience when I was asking kindly to pay for my bill. With this being one of the last few nights in Italy, we were hoping to enjoy it eating good food with good people in this beautiful country. However we felt like we were bothering the staff by dining there. No guest should leave feeling unwelcome or undeserving of basic courtesy and respect especially as a guest in their establishment. Response to the owner: Yes, we dined at the restaurant. Our party ordered the seafood ravioli, cacio e pepe, mushroom fettuccine, and steak with broccoli. The review reflects our honest experience as paying customers.

16/06/2026: I went for dinner for the first time on Sunday with my boyfriend. Everything was delicious and of excellent quality. The staff was very helpful, welcoming, and kind. Everything was perfect; we'll be back soon.

04/07/2026: Found it by chance, attracted by some tables in the shade of the willow trees. A warm welcome right away. Tables just steps from the water with a splendid view of the lake. Seafood appetizer, fried calamari and baked potatoes (excellent). Local sour cherry mousse was top-notch. Professional and friendly staff. We loved it.

22/04/2026: We thoroughly enjoyed a wonderful fresh seafood platter and other dishes that were new to us. The two waitresses were very attentive and considerate, but not intrusive. An evening and a restaurant that will remain a fond memory for a long time.

19/04/2026: Behind Castel Sant'Angelo, among the beautiful Roman alleys, lies this small restaurant, so far one of the best I've ever visited. The attention and care shown to the customers from the moment they arrive, with a cute bag hanger designed specifically to hold them at the table, is truly captivating. Their welcome with a taste from the chef is truly ecstatic: a small gourmet dish rich in flavor and served hot. We sampled many appetizers, both raw and cooked, and each was carefully chosen, but the octopus tentacles on potato cake left me speechless... The portions are truly generous and satisfying, something you don't find in high-end restaurants. We continued with a first course, and here's another top dish: perfectly cooked, fiery pasta that perfectly blended the selected seafood sauce with exceptional Castelmagno cheese shavings. The top of my list, and I'll be back soon to discover other dishes.

14/05/2026: I tried to book a table several times, well in advance, but when I specifically requested a table near the window, the reservations agent, who deliberately didn't identify himself, told me that this wasn't possible because they have a completely random table assignment system, and you only find out about it upon arrival. I had to book elsewhere for the umpteenth time. What a shame.

14/05/2026: The restaurant is well-located on the beach, and the service was quick despite our late arrival after 9 pm in the off-season. The service was attentive. The octopus salad appetizer, served with focaccia bread, is highly recommended. The fried seafood was delicious. The local white wine was excellent.

29/06/2026: Judging a restaurant after just one visit, including two main courses and side dishes, isn't very convincing, but our experience was still quite disappointing. Two grilled fish dishes, one seafood and one lake fish, were very poor in both composition and preparation. The side dishes were average and acceptable. Again, it could just be a case of bad luck, but that's the way it is. Courteous service. No receipt.

26/06/2026: The ambiance and service are really very good. The food tastes good too, but to my liking it was a bit too oily and the fish didn't have a strong enough fishy flavor. The anchovies, however, were very tasty.

27/07/2026: I expected more... it's been years since I've been to Farina Rè. The food was mediocre. I had a tartare, a sliced ​​steak (the menu said it had truffle shavings), and a lemon sorbet. The tartare had almost no seasoning and three dots of mayonnaise on the side. Half of the sliced ​​steak was fatty (and undercooked), the truffle was a terrible truffle pâté, and the parmesan wasn't shavings, but grated. The sorbet was warm and very sweet (I've never had a warm lemon sorbet before!). As for the service, we sat down at 9:30 and they came to take our order at 10:00, and only after we'd asked the various waiters at least four times. We ordered two Cokes, which never arrived. The only positive note was the waitress with a great memory who took our order without writing it down! As for the atmosphere: we chose to eat inside because of the heat, and instead of great air conditioning, we literally died of heat... my elderly in-laws were dripping with sweat... and to top it all off, while we were still finishing our main course (we hadn't even ordered dessert yet), the waiters started clearing out the entire place (it wasn't even 11 PM). They put all the chairs on the tables, basically, as if we and other tables who were obviously late (though not through our fault, but rather due to the slowness of ordering and service) weren't even there... A REAL DISASTER! I'm truly sorry...

21/07/2026: In my humble opinion, this is the best carbonara in Rome. They cook everything beautifully—meat, fish, rustici, and pizza. The staff is friendly and very polite. I recommend booking to avoid the wait (without a reservation, there's about a 10-minute wait).

08/07/2026: I last ate at Chinappi several years ago, and I decided to return. I was very satisfied. The place is still beautiful and elegant, with just a few tables, allowing you to enjoy your meal in complete tranquility. The cuisine has made a significant improvement. The ingredients are always top-quality, with a focus on "poor" fish (such as wild clams) served impeccably. The raw seafood is always top-notch. The spaghetti, cooked al dente, just as I like it, with shelled clams, was truly delicious. And to finish, a selection of desserts, all of them excellent. The service is always attentive and never intrusive. The wine list is impressive, with plenty of champagne and a focus on hard-to-find labels. Speaking of which, I found myself involved in a wine tasting because a Piedmontese producer was sitting next to me with a selection of wines to try, and I was delighted to do so. Throughout all this, Stefano Chinappi is always there to advise you on the best options, with his smile and friendly spirit to accompany you on an unforgettable food and wine experience.

05/07/2026: Discovered by chance, yet this restaurant is truly a delightful gem! Stefano, the owner, immediately demonstrated his full experience with his approach to advising and making you feel at ease. The service was impeccable, and inside the (open) kitchen, a calmness reigns supreme, where everything is under control. All this comes to the table, in dishes that are a perfect balance of flavor and quality, where the excellent ingredients are truly showcased! The wine list is also excellent. Everything was perfect, from appetizers to dessert. The price? Fair considering the quality of the products! We'll definitely be back!
