23/08/2025: We came here this evening for the first time and had a great time. The food was excellent, and the service even better. The dishes were beautiful to look at and delicious to eat, but above all, they weren't the norm. The portions were adequate and the prices were fair for the quality of the products. We really enjoyed the homemade digestives offered. We'll definitely be back to try the tasting menus, confident in the experience, considering the chef's skill.

21/08/2025: There are some restaurants or places that inexorably, almost, "force" you to leave a review, and I can't even be brief. In Rome, they jokingly say, "They take it out of your hands!" Obviously, this can have two meanings: extremely positive or extremely negative. Now, even though I'm not a "black belt" at reviews (meaning I leave them quite rarely), in this case I can't help but do it. In a positive sense, fortunately! We had a truly wonderful time at this restaurant! I found it by chance on "Gluto" (an app for finding nearby gluten-free restaurants, editor's note) during a visit to Villa d'Este for its special evening opening. I believe it's family-run, presumably a father, mother, and son team. We had booked by phone, and as soon as we arrived, we were greeted by the lady who good-naturedly, almost maternally, scolded us for not having informed us in advance that there were two celiacs among the diners: "We would have provided you with homemade gluten-free bread," she said, almost regretfully. Then we sat down, ordered, and everything arrived in perfect order and on time. Including the famous gluten-free bread, which had been specially prepared in the meantime (in the end, we only had to wait a few extra minutes for it, but it arrived hot and delicious!). The young man who served us (as I said, I presume her son) was friendly, smiling, helpful, and patient, considering that in addition to celiac disease, we also had a few other dietary restrictions. Furthermore, there were two children who, while not spoiled or naughty but rather well-behaved, nevertheless always require a little extra patience and helpfulness. The dishes, without going into specifics, were all extraordinarily good. Top-quality ingredients (pardon the pun), sophisticated plating and condiments that weren't "smoky" (that is, not the kind made with ingredients that fill your mouth just by mentioning them but aren't actually as special as they seem on the menu). Everything was presented beautifully, in the nouvelle cuisine style, without the excessively small portions that make you want to go get a sandwich from "Giggi 'o zozzone" when you're finished. However, the portions weren't meager, but not excessive either; not a crumb was left on our plates, and we all left the restaurant feeling full but not over-stuffed, which always indicates a good balance between the condiments and portions. Although it isn't an AIC-certified restaurant (and therefore gluten-free certified), or at least I believe it wasn't, even the gluten-free dishes were excellent, with a decent selection and attention to cross-contamination. Final notes: 1) The restaurant is small and seats relatively few; reservations are recommended. 2) The night we were there (unfortunately, and I feel sorry for them), the restaurant was empty, with only our table. This made the service almost "dedicated," and we felt even more pampered. However, I had the feeling that the service wouldn't have suffered even if it had been full. 3) I also noticed a well-stocked wine cellar, but I don't drink, so I can't speak to the quality of the wines, but those who enjoy a good glass will certainly find something good to drink. 4) For those who love their smartphones and internet, there's free Wi-Fi. In short, I believe that, fundamentally, this restaurant is run with a lot of love and passion for what is a complex profession, especially in times when compulsive reviewing carries the risk of negative opinions even for just a misplaced crumb. For me, all in all, a highly recommended place, and one I will gladly return to whenever the opportunity arises!

09/08/2025: Exceptional place! Ever since we visited at the beginning of the year, it's become our favorite place, as we're always fascinated. The place is an old building, but the interior is completely renovated and modern. The traditional Neapolitan oven is uniquely beautiful, and it's a pleasure to watch the pizza chef at work and smell the freshly baked pizzas. Every detail is meticulously cared for, as are the waiters and the owner. From the moment you arrive, you feel pampered by the attentive staff, and they're always available to help with any needs you may have. As for the food, there's only one thing to say: PHENOMENAL! Typical Neapolitan dishes, rarely have we found a place like this that completely satisfied us. The quality of the ingredients is excellent! Highly recommended. See you again soon.

11/08/2025: We had the most wonderful experience at Contro Corrente, near Fiumicino Airport! From the moment we arrived, the warm atmosphere and live jazz music set the perfect mood. We started with a delicious tartare and an incredible cheese selection, paired perfectly with refreshing Aperol Spritz — a true Italian aperitivo done right. For the main courses, the amatriciana pasta was rich and full of flavor, while the cotoletta with chips for the kids was cooked to perfection and devoured in minutes. Everything — from the presentation to the taste — was outstanding. The staff was attentive, friendly, and made us feel truly welcome. A hidden gem that combines fantastic food, great drinks, and unforgettable ambiance. Highly recommended whether you’re looking for a romantic evening, a family dinner, or simply a taste of authentic Italian hospitality before/after your travels.

11/08/2025: Four of us came here for lunch to escape the hustle and bustle of the city. The service was really great. There was a small accompaniment from the kitchen, which was delicious. I had a cold tomato and watermelon soup, which was really delicious and super refreshing. For dessert, I had the tarte tatin, which was excellent. My companions' dishes were also very good. The ambiance is wonderful inside and out. Everything is just right here!

13/09/2025: We went for dinner two days ago. We had a wonderful meal in a very pleasant outdoor setting, albeit small and close to the road. Very friendly service. The wait was moderate. The dishes were not only delicious, but also beautifully presented. Also excellent for vegetarians. The price is a bit high, but that's justified by the generous portions. Highly recommended.

09/09/2025: I came back here a few days ago for a special occasion, and like the other times, I found good food and friendly staff. I'll definitely be back often, especially since I live in the neighborhood.

30/08/2025: The worst pizza of my life, the base seems pre-made, all the same, hard and tasteless... there are better pizzas in the supermarket, also when I told the man my complaint he reacted irately and arrogantly telling me that I had no idea, we left more than half a pizza and half a focaccia (the same base) and bought a pizza al taglio in the alley of Fontana di Trevi to get rid of the bad taste in our mouths... I was surprised to find such a horrible pizza in Rome. They take advantage of the location of the restaurant, they take advantage of tourists and underestimate them.

28/07/2025: Great food, reasonable priced, and friendly staff. I always visit this place everytime I visit Rome since 2019. I was so sorry when I saw it was temporarily closed in the last March. I hope I can visit there next year!

20/08/2025: Can't believe everything was vegan! SO many dishes to try. Only thing I didn't like was not knowing how much it was going to cost as it is priced by weight. Everything I tried was very tasty. Only complaint was the fried options were a little stale after sitting on the buffet. The pesto gnocchi, clam dish, and creamy shells were my favorites.
