Wow. I love this place. This spot was good off the bat. I noticed that there is a woman working here with her son helping her buss tables and serve. She was very welcoming super kind and not to mention you just want to give her a big hug type of lady. First I got the bread, which, is some of the best bread I’ve ever tasted. Baked homemade in the back by her mother, and came out while it was still warm made with cheese in it. Omg don’t even get me started this will be in my dreams. Then the house salad was very original and every bite tasteful, throughly enjoyed. And finally the pesto fettucine with shrimp which was also shocker phenomenal and homemade. So glad I found this place and came here has great food and a very homey feel.

This was one of the best meals of our trip to Rome. Simona made us feel at home. She was so sweet and friendly. The food was outstanding! Highly recommend the truffle dishes as well as the Carbonara.

Absolutely love this place! It is exactly where foreigners should dine to experience true Italian hospitality. While the food was incredible, the service from Simona was top notch. She is such a sweet person. She exchanged email addresses with my wife and offered to give her tips for our pasta making at home. We had cacio e pepe, amatriciana, meatballs, a special pasta with peas and guinciale, and saltimbucca. It was all excellent. We made friends with the people sitting next to us and the night was fantastic.
If I could give this place 6 stars I would. Call ahead for reservations as it is a small intimate space.

Best food we had in Italy - and I don’t think we had a single bad meal the whole trip, but this was next level. My husband said his only regret was that we only went there on our last night, so we couldn’t go again. The restaurant was clearly unassuming and a local favorite but don’t be fooled - this may be the best restaurant in Rome!

We love Ristorante Pietro Valentini! Ate here on our second night in Rome and again for our third. Simona is friendly and even remembered our names and drinks from the day before! Fantastic food! Highly recommend. We knew it would be good when we had to make a reservation the first time we came!!

You need to forget about the long lines in the busiest restaurants and come here instead. Our local friends recommended it, and we had one of best carbonara and fettuccine with truffle that we had in our trip. Oh and get ready for the best bread you’ll ever have (has cheese in it!!). The Sicilian wine was also 10/10 and the women running it were the nicest. We can’t recommend it enough!!!

Simply the best food we've had in Rome. We went here twice because the atmosphere and the food were so good. We ordered 4 different main courses as well as different antipasti and tiramisu - everything tasted so good!
The owner is the sweetest, warmest lady who said that the place has been passed down through her family for generations.
Remember to book a table in advance if you want to be sure to get a seat.
Highly recommended! We'll definitely be back 💛

Pietro Valentini Ristorante was such a joy from the moment we walked in. The atmosphere had that perfect mix of warmth and charm that makes you instantly settle in. And the food—truly phenomenal. The Tonnarelli Carbonara was silky, rich, and beautifully balanced, while the Ravioli di Ricotta e Spinaci tasted fresh and delicate, like it was made with real intention.
