14/06/2025: It's so hot they put you inside with the air conditioning and then the door stays open after waiting 50 minutes the pasta and potatoes arrived excellent while the octopus alla Luciana one of the 2 was completely raw I didn't say anything I paid and went away to the kitchen before bringing out a dish I advise you to be more careful

14/06/2025: We had awesome evenings at the gatto re during our vacation. The owners are super nice and I had the best Bistecca alla fiorentina ever. I would always visit again!
04/05/2025: Excellent restaurant in the center of San Casciano in Val di Pesa, among the Chianti hills. Impeccable service, lovely environment with lots of references to cats. Excellent dishes, I don't give my best only for the temperature of the cut which was not optimal but in a mixed grill it can happen. Excellent wine map!

06/07/2025: My husband I were in Italy for almost 3 weeks and this was easily our top third best restaurant we ate at! The pizza was out of this world as was the linguine zucchini dish. I tried to get the recipe but no luck so I’ll have to try to recreate it at home from memory. This restaurant is a must!
05/07/2025: We got lasagna and seafood pasta. Both were great. The tiramisu was very delicious. Our server was also so awesome. We were sat right away. Definitely recommend checking this place out.

26/06/2025: Nice place. Lamb is great, pasta is good, although I expected more eggplant. Veal is unfortunately a bit rubbery.
15/06/2025: If climbing up to Bova seems like a pointless undertaking, even if you are attracted by the view and curiosity. The stop at Al Borgo di Marcello repays the excursion: Typicality, flavor, courtesy and peace at prices that in much of Italy are now a mirage. To try again, perhaps for dinner and with a more consistent hunger.

23/05/2025: Sehr gutes Essen mit einem guten Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis. Hausgemachte und sehr leckere Gerichte in einem kleinen authenthischen, familiengeführten Restaurant. Freundlicher Service. Der Ausflug hierher hat sich wirklich gelohnt!
04/05/2025: Il giusto compromesso tra un locale di classe e uno caratteristico. Gentilezza ai massimi livelli, qualità del cibo davvero notevole. Tutto del luogo o fatto da loro, davvero un posto in cui tornare e coccolarsi. Una menzione speciale per la scelta e la qualità dei vini, essendo anche enoteca, potete scendere nella cantina e riportarvi qualcosa a casa (come abbiamo fatto noi). Torneremo sicuramente a metà giugno...a presto

Very nice place and kind staff and Pasquale "the maître" was very kind also in advising me on the first courses that were suitable for gluten free! ... for gluten free the prices are not increased! I will definitely return
