31/08/2025: I've returned to this restaurant after many years, and I have to say that some things seem to have changed. I'm referring primarily to the service, but especially to the prices and order management. It must be said that the food remains better than many Japanese restaurants around today; after all, this was the first Japanese restaurant in the area. The atmosphere is relaxed and authentic, with a Japanese chef who adds a touch of true tradition. The sore point, however, is the price: it's definitely too high. I understand the quality of the product, but charging €2.50 for a simple refill of soy or wasabi seems truly excessive. The other courses are also disproportionately priced: you can spend €120 for two and leave feeling like you've only had an aperitivo. It's true that prices are exorbitant these days, but at this rate, paying such prices becomes truly unsustainable, considering we're not talking about a Michelin-starred restaurant.

19/04/2026: I was in Patti for a hospital visit, and on my way out I decided to stop for lunch since I had other things to do in the afternoon anyway. I had an arancini, a cutlet with eggplant, and a coffee cream. I have to say, it was all good. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

14/06/2026: Last night, a couple of friends and I went for a drink at this newly managed venue. The location is beautiful, but the service was terrible. We ordered two spritzes (they were too watery), a glass of Franciacorta (not very good), and a mojito. My friend waited over 30 minutes for it, while we had already finished our cocktails. Despite repeated reminders, they didn't intervene, and finally, when it came time for the bill, we told the owner what had happened. Instead of apologizing, he said, "I hope it's less crowded!" Absurd. I should point out that the review refers to the aperitif on the terrace, not the restaurant.

14/06/2026: A couple of friends and I wanted to try the new management of the place because we heard they also served aperitifs on the terrace, so my review refers to that service and not the restaurant. We order, and after a while, everyone's aperitifs arrive except me. I wait a bit and then ask the waitress, who says, "It'll be right there." I wait another quarter of an hour, then ask another waitress: same answer. More time passes, and I ask again, annoyed because the others had finished their drinks long ago. "Excuse me, what did you order?" I reorder. Moral of the story: I get a lousy non-alcoholic mojito 45 minutes later than my friends, and without even a bag of chips, nothing at all. I go to pay and report the terrible experience to the owner, saying that in my opinion he shouldn't even charge me for my drink. The response is, "It can happen," and "out of the question." If he were a gentleman, he wouldn't have thought twice given the embarrassing service, but he doubles down by saying, "I have too many customers, losing people like this isn't a problem," and concludes with a great wise saying: the problems are elsewhere! And thank goodness I came to Sorpasso to get life lessons from a guy who only had to bring me a mojito in a reasonable amount of time!! Poor drinks, incompetent staff, arrogant manager: bleed over.

17/03/2026: Discovered by chance during a business trip. For over a year, it's become a regular stop when I'm in Urbino. Sandwiches are carefully prepared, well-balanced, and very tasty. The lady is very kind, professional, and above all, offers excellent advice. See you soon

27/01/2026: I want to publicly thank Casa del Pane in Urbino for their exquisite kindness. Being at a hotel and unable to leave, I called almost at closing time: not only did they accept my order with great urgency, but the owner's son delivered the food directly to my door. A service that goes far beyond the simple professional duty, demonstrating a rare and truly appreciated level of customer care. Excellent food and even better service. Thank you so much!

06/05/2026: Let me start by saying I'll only talk about the food. A while back (around 2022-2023), it was a delicious restaurant, especially in the summer: a 10 out of 10. The portions were enormous, enough to feed 8 people (there were 4 of us). Everything was perfect: the waitress was excellent, the food was excellent, the desserts were amazing, and the focaccia was incredible. The place is lovely, especially the outside, with a truly beautiful ambiance. Water was also included, something I'd expect from the best restaurants. There was also a melon refill, which was delicious. When I returned, however, I have to say that the portions had decreased significantly, and water was no longer included (no big deal). The quality had also declined. I thought it was just a coincidence, so I returned a few months later. Unfortunately, the quality and quantity had declined even further. Only the white focaccia (which has a more specific name) was noteworthy, as always, truly excellent. Even the dough was raw; When I pointed this out, the waiter told me that "it's homemade, so it's normal." I make it at home too, but it doesn't come out raw. They charged us the full bill even though the service and pasta were truly unsavory. The rest was good, but these are things you can find at other restaurants too. Going there, along the mountain road and all, in my opinion isn't worth it anymore. I really hope they improve and I'll give them another chance, but they definitely need to lower the prices, because they're currently too high. I hope the owners don't take offense at this review, and I hope that when I return, the place will be as good as it was the first time I was there.

19/01/2026: An enchanting place to unplug from the rest of the world. I had the pleasure of staying in the suite, the wonderful suite with a whirlpool and fireplace, overlooking snow-capped valleys. It was like a dream. The owners were extremely kind and helpful, given the unexpected amount of snow and the mountain roads. The food was excellent, authentic, and flavorful. We'd love to return in the spring/summer to enjoy the wonderful view in bloom. Superb!

06/09/2025: Poor celiacs!!! They use the association's logo, making people hope they'll find gluten-free options. Maybe some people come here specifically because they're in the area for lunch. What do they offer? Salad and fries... No comment. Don't justify yourselves by saying it's the end of the season because there are plenty of people around, and if your window is plastered with AIC stickers, you should always ensure you have acceptable options available.

05/05/2026: It's a shame they don't accept reservations for allergy sufferers. I tried to call for a table of seven with an allergy sufferer, but they were very pushy and unhelpful. What a shame, in 2026! There are always ways to avoid discrimination. You just have to want it, but you just didn't have the will. Always in the name of the allergy sufferer's well-being, which is the most hypocritical aspect, you step aside and avoid the problem. A reset is needed to enter the new millennium!

02/12/2025: You can find everything here, and it's all delicious. Excellent value for money. They also offer takeout. Full lunch menu for €14.50. You can find: a wide variety of hearty first courses, burgers (including fish and vegetarian), piadinas, meat and fish main courses, fried appetizers, and desserts, including my signature mascarpone and Nutella mousse 🔝 The staff is very welcoming and friendly; it feels like family.

27/01/2026: Beautiful location in the characteristic olive oil mill on the top of a hill with a sea view and a garden. Available to seat a table of 11, 4 children (aged 5 to 10) and 7 adults, thrilled after visiting the Bali museum and seeing the olive oil mill machinery. From there on, it was a disaster... no information on the cost, the quantity of food was too small. We ordered platters for 6 again, plus another for 6, considering the children. It was also a shame that the starters were good: radicchio gnocchi, pumpkin ravioli, a bit lacking, and chicken skewers breaded with breadcrumbs, just about anything. They didn't even offer tagliatelle, which was available at other tables... a taste of oil was out of the question. Being in an olive oil mill... at least... I wouldn't recommend it. A SHAME.

07/05/2026: I was looking for a place to eat something simple between sightseeing in Milan. Near the so-called Venice of Milan, the Navigli district, we found this organic shop. Inside, there were several tables and a few dishes for lunch. I had a mixed vegetable dish with roasted almonds and a coffee; it was really good and a pleasant experience.
