05/10/2025: Visited on the occasion of Libri sotto i portici, excellent tavern, very kind staff and really very good food, highly recommended the Tortelli alla tartarella (saffron and sausage) and the Beef stew (off the menu)

16/09/2025: My wife and I came for lunch today, randomly chosen on Google Maps. We had a great meal, very fair prices, and very friendly staff. If we ever pass through this area again, we'll definitely be back. 👍👍👏👏

14/09/2025: We ordered two seafood spaghetti dishes, very generous portions with tons of shrimp, mussels, and calamari. The flavor was decent, but not very bold or flavorful. For our second course, we shared fried calamari for two, since we were already full after the large portion of the first course. Not the best calamari we've ever had: overcooked and rubbery. The side dishes were plentiful, but the sautéed vegetables were reminiscent of Chinese cuisine, with a sweetish undertone that unfortunately didn't pair well with the calamari. My bad, but I was expecting a different flavor.

28/08/2025: We came here for dinner. The welcome was very warm. For starters, we had tortelli (pumpkin) and tuna carpaccio. The tuna carpaccio was a huge portion. Sometimes less is more! The tortelli were very sweet. For the main course, we had calamari fritti. Even with a lot of lemon, they weren't seasoned. The calamari batter could have used more seasoning. For dessert, we had the house tiramisu and an expresso with grappa. The alcohol was forgotten in the tiramisu, with lots of cream and cocoa powder. The service was very friendly and attentive.

30/08/2025: We had lunch at Grollywood. We had Spaghetti Carponara and Tagliata de Manza. Everything was super fresh and delicious. Locals eat there, too! You can also buy cigarettes there. The service was very friendly and attentive.

23/08/2025: Decided to try this place as it was close to our accommodation and we were not disappointed! The service was fantastic the food was amazing, best burgers, steak and seriously the most delicious tartare we have had in Italy! So good we will come back again tomorrow!

23/09/2025: I was disappointed. I ordered risotto alla pilota, which was served pre-made and reheated in the microwave. It tasted good, but for €12 plus cover charge, it seemed a truly disproportionate price. In a trattoria, the same dish cooked to order costs the same or less. I expected better value from a reputable bakery.

02/09/2025: I had a terrible experience... the pasta dish was invisible, you couldn't even see the cream, and the pasta was the same. For the price, I expected a lot more. I asked if they could bring me the toppings, but they never arrived. I went to the cashier to pay, and they made me wait 10 minutes because they were busy checking their phones. This is my first and last time here. I don't recommend it.

21/09/2025: A lovely historical restaurant with amazing service and traditional dishes and wines. It is a family business and the owner was very kind and friendly. We were given a traditional dessert for free, as well as some bread selection in the beginning. Overall - a lovely experience and would definitely recommend!

14/09/2025: A culinary experience that deserves the best! We were in Mantua for a weekend and chose to dine at this restaurant, and we couldn't have been more pleased. The atmosphere is refined, elegant, and welcoming, perfect for a special evening. The service was impeccable. The staff is attentive, professional, and available to answer any questions, without ever being intrusive. They expertly guided us through our selection of dishes and wine. And the food... simply exceptional! We started with delicious appetizers, which paved the way for unforgettable main courses. The stew with polenta was so tender it melted in your mouth, a true traditional masterpiece. The rabbit with herbs was also exquisite, delicate, and perfectly flavorful, while the tagliata was perfectly cooked and of the highest quality. All this was accompanied by an excellent wine, expertly recommended, which enhanced the flavors of each course. "La Cucina di Mantova" isn't just a restaurant, it's an experience. Highly recommended to anyone who wants to enjoy the authentic flavors of Mantua in a high-quality setting. We'll definitely be back.

07/09/2025: It's quite unacceptable not to have anything lactose-free. The mozzarella on the pizza and desserts, none of which have a lactose-free option. Poor service and nothing special about the food.

27/08/2025: Unfortunately, sitting on the veranda to admire the view turned out to be a bad choice that evening... The deafening noise prevented conversation! (The noisy table, combined with the terrace covered by semi-transparent awnings, created a very annoying reverberation, not to mention obscuring the view!) The young man who served us had memory lapses from the beginning: I asked for breadsticks... they never arrived! ... I ordered coffee... never marked it! So, when I asked the girl for an explanation, she sent it, apologizing. The pizza was very good and prepared quickly. I recommend the indoor dining rooms, which are much more intimate and ideal if you're a couple.

07/10/2025: YESTERDAY FOR LUNCH I ORDERED A FILLET, AND INSTEAD OF A FILLET THEY Brought ME A PIECE OF BEEF THAT HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH A FILLET. I TOLD THE WAITER, AND HE ASSURED ME THAT IT WAS A FILLET, BUT WHO ARE THEY KIDDING. I WILL NEVER GO THERE TO EAT AGAIN.

10/10/2025: I gave it 3 stars so as not to tarnish the reputation, because behind a business lies the work and dedication of the people!!! Really nice place, very convenient parking, but... alas, they close in the afternoon at 3 pm (it's written outside the place). We arrived at 2:20 pm and they told us we couldn't sit down because the kitchen was already closed!!! But... isn't it more correct to write that they are open until 2 pm?

17/07/2025: The owner is rude, the prices are exorbitant, the food isn't as good as it was a few years ago. The pizza is dry, and for those who are above average, there's very little leftovers.

28/05/2025: After a long day on the bike we happened to have dinner at the Cioè restaurant. First the kindness and willingness to accommodate us even though the place was full, then they served us quickly and always friendly. I recommend the pumpkin tortelli to everyone, special.
