08/09/2025: We celebrated our wonderful wedding on July 19, 2025, at Locanda del Cavaliere. We would like to thank Paola and Roberta for their guidance, support, and advice, but above all for their kindness and professionalism. It's a magnificent venue, the food is excellent, the staff is very friendly, and the atmosphere is truly magical. We created wonderful memories during our wedding weekend, from the ceremony to dinner and Sunday brunch. Thanks again, especially to Roberta, who made our dreams come true and was so supportive. We will return to the restaurant for dinner to enjoy this splendid setting again.

25/08/2025: After a long absence, we managed to return to enjoy the farinata: one of the best in Genoa. The cheese focaccia is absolutely not to be missed: excellent!!! Of course, it's always difficult to book a table, and I was disappointed to see the small portions, although the price is, fortunately, still affordable, so it makes up for it. A great confirmation and absolutely not to be missed 😉😉

23/08/2025: I didn't have a great experience at this restaurant. Not being local, we were curious to try the farinata. The waiter initially told us he could let us try it, but then, when it came time to take our order, he informed us that it was only possible if we ordered the whole plate. This was information he could have given us right away. The pizza wasn't the best, and after ordering and waiting a long time for coffees, we had to wait for the waiter to ask other people if they wanted them and then even bring them to them (they had ordered after us). Furthermore, the room was very hot because the air conditioning was off. Overall, a disappointing experience.

06/09/2025: I would have loved to give this restaurant a 5-star rating, if it wasn't for a small conflict we experienced with the service. Looking for a place that served a vegan pasta pesto dish typical of Genova, we stumbled upon Soul Kitchen – a cosy and authentic-looking spot with traditional Italian dishes. My girlfriend instantly fell in love with the pasta carbonara, made with a delicious carrot cream sauce and incredibly good seitan “pancetta.” “The best carbonara I’ve ever tried,” said my Milanese girlfriend. A dish worth coming back for. I ordered what I came for: the vegan pasta pesto. After the first bite, I was blown away – a heavenly dish made from simple, fresh ingredients. However, a few bites in, I crunched down on what I immediately recognized as grains of sand – likely from unwashed basil or leafy greens. Being a plant-based chef myself, I’ve made that mistake before. I kindly informed the waiter, who offered to bring me a new plate. He suggested it might be from ground nuts used in the sauce. While nuts add creaminess, soft ones like cashews or pine nuts wouldn’t explain a gritty texture. Unfortunately, the second plate had the same issue. I sent it back again. That’s when the atmosphere changed. My girlfriend overheard someone at the bar say, “It’s his problem, not ours. Who is this? I want to talk to him.” Soon after, the owner approached us. She insisted it was unlikely there was dirt due to hydroponic basil, and that they’d never had this complaint before. She even said she’d try the dish herself. After tasting it, she admitted she experienced the same thing – but still blamed salt, nuts, or tempeh. I didn’t want to play the “I’m a chef too” card, so I let it go. But I knew what I tasted wasn’t salt – it didn’t dissolve. It wasn’t nuts or tempeh either. Eventually, I got the gnocchi, which was fantastic. But the experience left a bitter aftertaste. Instead of staying professional and apologizing, pride got in the way. We got a discount, which was kind – but we left embarrassed. Still, the food is worth trying. Hopefully the cook washes the vegetables before your visit.

07/09/2025: Adorable saleswoman (she speaks French!). Small artisanal ice cream parlor that doesn't look like much but is definitely worth a visit. You can taste the flavors before choosing: special mention for the caramel cheesecake, the lemon-violet combination, and the wine ice cream, truly original!

Dishes are carefully prepared, perfectly balanced, yet never sacrificing flavor—the gnocchi are especially recommended. The staff are friendly and professional, and the atmosphere is neither too elegant nor too casual. Reservations are recommended.

I never leave reviews; I'm a professional and work in the restaurant industry, so I often understand many of the dynamics. The staff are exceptional, the food superb. This is the second time I've been back in a week. The mussels deserved top marks (ordered both times), the linguine with tramplings was EXCEPTIONAL, probably one of the best dishes I've ever eaten in my life. My boyfriend ordered gnocchi and then the meat; needless to say, I also ate his, cooked PERFECTLY. Generous portions, more than fair price. I would pay double for this kind of quality. Lastly, a special compliment to the waiter (Tiger), who was truly super professional. We definitely came back for the food, but above all for your excellent service! Thank you for explaining the dishes to us, and for giving us advice on everything from appetizers to dessert.

25/08/2025: Margherita's unusual soup is one of those places where, when you wake up and head home, you're happy and satisfied with what you've eaten, how much you spent, and how you felt. There's attention to detail, courtesy, and respect for both adults and children. All the ingredients are there, from people who do their job with great passion, and this passion shines through in the dishes and everything around you. If you love those restaurants waiting to be discovered, this is the place for you. Thank you for everything.
