Le ragazze che ci hanno accolto sembravano un pò smarrite nella gestione dei tavoli e delle prenotazioni, ma la prima impressione è stata poi smentita dalla loro simpatia e cordialità. I tempi di attesa sono stati meno lunghi di come me li prospettavo, data l'affluenza. Ma soprattutto il cibo è davvero ottimo, persino il pesce (inaspettatamente per una tipica trattoria umbra). The platter features commercially available cured meats and cheeses, and the prosciutto is extremely salty. The grilled potatoes have never been grilled, and the vegetable crescia is tasteless. In the end, sitting in the square and a bottle of Sagrantino cost us around eighty euros. Bottom line: this is a subpar delicatessen. Avoid.

I know it's difficult to handle the public, but the waiters who themselves tell you to arrive at 9:30/9:45 PM find seats for three people, and you arrive at that time with a smile, kind and very polite, mentioning that they spoke on the phone and tried to make a reservation, but they told me there was no need for a reservation and to just show up, there was room. In the end, they show up with arrogance and superficiality. The behavior of the managers/waiters themselves makes the place.

10/12/2025: Descending to the left of Assisi's Piazza del Comune, with the fountain behind you, into a nearby alleyway—Via Giotto, to be precise—you enter a delightful, timeless restaurant. Stepping through the single pointed-arch entrance door transports you back to the Middle Ages. It's no coincidence that the restaurant is called Osteria dei Priori. The place is welcoming and warm, beautifully furnished, with carefully measured red walls alternating with stone. We dined in an alcove, protected by soft lighting. We couldn't be happier to have dined here; we ate wonderfully. Roberta, I think that was the name of the young woman who welcomed us so kindly, even spent a pleasant time with us, as there were no other tables to attend to at the time. The appetizers were out of this world for both of us... a seasoned and marinated Fassona beef tartare and a thinly sliced ​​veal with tuna sauce, both delicious. We then chose a first course to share between two: tagliatelle with mushrooms and saffron, guinea fowl with truffles, and a side of grilled vegetables. Everything was truly excellent. I don't remember the wine we chose, but in this area, you can never go wrong. Probably a Montefalco red, although I'm not sure. Go and you won't be disappointed. Good prices.

22/10/2025: Disappointing experience at Pozzo Romano We visited Pozzo Romano restaurant with a group of 15 colleagues, but unfortunately, the experience was very negative. The staff was unwelcoming and rushed, with no attention to the customer. The meal was of poor quality, with poorly prepared and flavorless dishes. In a city as renowned for its hospitality and good cuisine as Assisi, we expected much better. We do not recommend this restaurant.

14/08/2025: Ice cream not homemade but not bad however the waitress was not friendly at all because we were French and we could not find our words

12/08/2025: The ice cream was melted as soon as it was on the cone and the scoops were tiny. When my daughter got given the wrong flavour of gelato - coconut - (which was a honest mistake and not an issue), instead of correcting his mistake and making new ice cream, the person behind the counter added the correct flavour on top of the wrong one. Coconut ice cream has a very specific texture that she really dislikes and since the ice cream was already half melted - they all mixed on the cone making it hard for her to enjoy it.

08/12/2025: First pizza in Italy after a long vacation in Asia. We arrived late in the evening without a reservation, but were greeted immediately and very kindly let us choose a table. The service was fast, helpful, and friendly. Excellent pizzas.

24/11/2025: Stopped for a little break and asked the staff what coffee they had—she said they could make anything. Ended up getting an affogato with chocolate ice cream, and it was insanely good! The ice cream balanced the espresso perfectly, and it even had little chocolate chunks inside. My friend ordered a hot chocolate and it was delicious as well. A must-try when you're in Assisi!

29/06/2025: Unfortunately my review from a few years ago no longer reflects reality, the cus club including the bambagioni and its swimming pool are managed superficially without care, interest and respect for its public of users...semi-impracticable tennis courts, winter absence or almost absence of heating and the swimming pool often under maintenance. Not to mention the s-courtesy of some employees....I'm very sorry, once it was a small oasis...
