10/05/2026: A soup restaurant definitely worth a visit if you're in Foligno or the surrounding area. The food is excellent and the soups are delicious; the menu changes frequently and offers daily soups to suit all tastes. I recommend asking for the tasting menu so you can try two or three soups.

16/05/2026: I'll start by saying that I was with friends on a bike ride, we wanted a quick stop, not a full lunch, the waiter immediately seemed annoyed for having asked for a table in the shade, then with the drink and the recommended appetizer for two not recommended because splitting a bruschetta in half like other things, even if good, is not a fair thing in my opinion.

02/05/2026: I was in Foligno for my first time with my family over the long weekend, and they recommended this NEAPOLITAN place... IL VESUVIUS 🤗 I trusted them....LET'S TRY.... I must say we were surprised. TOP FRIED NEAPOLITAN PIZZA 😍 TOP PANZEROTTI 😍 TOP ZEPPOLINE, 😍NOTHING TO COMPLAIN ABOUT 😋🤗 THE PLACE IS THE BEST PROFESSIONAL AND FRIENDLY STAFF VERY FAST SERVICE, and I must say we even went without a reservation, and the owner did his MAXIMUM to accommodate us... EXTRAORDINARY My compliments for everything and I HIGHLY recommend it... There will be plenty of opportunities to come back, but above all, I RECOMMEND...👍

05/05/2026: The path to the bathroom is quite unusual, with cured meats hanging from the ceiling. The platter was quite modest in quantity for the price. The cured meats were good, but we expected much more. The same was true for the herb rock, a very small portion for the price. The pasta, despite the meat being salty enough, was very bland.

03/05/2026: The wines (recommended by the staff) were excellent; it's a shame they forgot to bring us the third glass of wine included in the tasting. The food was good, but the portions were small. The platter was good, but perhaps not worth the €27 price tag (the accompanying jam was very industrial). The location was nice: it was nice to pass through the laboratory and cellar on the way to the bathroom. The staff was friendly, but overall a bit disorganized.

20/04/2026: We stumbled upon this hotel by chance after a road accident, and were greeted warmly. Clean rooms and comfortable beds, a delicious breakfast, and friendly and helpful staff. A place I'd definitely like to return to.

18/05/2026: A peaceful haven, one of those rare ones that are increasingly difficult to find. We were welcomed by very kind people and ate in the outdoor piazza. The dishes were truly delicious, chosen from the daily menu. Some examples: tagliolini with porchetta ragù, orecchiette with artichoke cream. I highly recommend it. We went on a Sunday in May and it wasn't very crowded, but it's best to book because there aren't many tables.

17/05/2026: Overlooking the valley, with outdoor tables and a beautiful view of the hermitage wall. It's a small restaurant, not a fast food joint or a restaurant: if you arrive late and without a reservation, it's likely that some ingredients will run out... you just eat what's available! That said, this is my second time back, remembering the meal the previous time: only this time, four of us showed up, without a reservation and outside of opening hours. The young man at the counter (I don't know if he's the manager or an employee) politely apologized for running out of some cured meats and... he laid out a platter before my eyes that I struggled to finish. A large amount of cheese (a semi-mature one that spoke in verse), loin (also a lot and also excellent), mortadella, I think artisanal because it was really good, toasted bread, and cabbage. At the end of the climb to the waterfalls, it was a real treat. There are only a few tables or benches; if it's crowded, you might find yourself sitting next to strangers... but ultimately, it's a chance to meet new people over a beer and a beautiful mountain view, right? I'll definitely be back.

02/05/2026: Two stars only for the heavenly aroma coming out of the lab, but my history with Merendoni seems like a joke. I'm from another city, and every time I come I try to come to you for the pastries and the acclaimed pizza sfoglia (which they say you claim to have invented). I've never found anything. At 11:30 the pastries are always sold out and the pizza sfoglia is never available. This time, however, the girls, very kind, told me "the pizza sfoglia will be out in half an hour." Perfect, I came back half an hour later to find that the pan was already empty. Maybe, if you claim to be the "fathers" of pizza sfoglia and know it's in demand, you could make more than one pan, right? And at 12:00, too. I envy the locals, who, from what I read in the reviews, always get the timing right 😂 if the miracle of being able to taste something happens, I'll update the review. Cheers!
