03/11/2025: I'm reporting the constant name changes of the bar here on Google, and sometimes even the deletion of the business (always on Google without actually closing it) to "refresh" negative reviews. I've already left a very honest and detailed review of the business on Google Maps called "Lo Chalet," which I don't think was appreciated. Bar Salvini was under the previous management that closed. The place has a different name, as you can see from the photos, both in person and on Google Maps and Street View. If you put half the effort you put into deleting reviews you don't like on Google into actually improving the service... you'd fix it right away! Rushy staff, poor quality food (breakfast and aperitif), with many people feeling ill after several degrees. I've worked in catering and sales, and I don't think staff can be rude on their way to work, so I think there must be a reason. Please commit to making this place beautiful again! It's aesthetically beautiful! I promise to improve this review if you can improve, but you really need to work hard! This place is already beautiful; it's everything else that's broken, and you can improve! Come on!

15/03/2026: A very charming place in the historic center of San Miniato. Francesco, the waiter who served us, despite being the only one in charge of the interior and exterior, was very attentive and efficient. The truffle crostini and artichoke tagliatelle were my favorite dishes.

08/02/2026: We went there on a winter Saturday morning, without a reservation. We found a table easily, and the place was quiet (except for a few customers' dogs). The place isn't very spacious, but you can get in. There's only one bathroom, so when it's crowded, there might be a long line to use it. The waiter is friendly and very kind. The food is really good and, above all, plentiful; you definitely won't leave feeling hungry.

02/03/2026: For the first time in my life, I tasted tasteless pizza. The dough was good, and my friends' pizzas were good, but mine (the white one with cheese) tasted like nothing, not even salt. Sure, there was no gorgonzola, but the other cheeses tasted like nothing either. Takeout, however, was quick. I recommend it to anyone who doesn't want cheese pizza, because the others were actually good, and so was the cecina, but for me, it was a total disappointment.

01/02/2026: I accepted a friend's invitation to eat pizza at this place. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. The atmosphere is very confusing, and there's a sense of little attention paid to the customers. I thought that, despite the simplicity of the place, at least the pizza was worth the evening. When we ordered, we asked for fried dough and ham; when we asked for gorgonzola, we were told rather curtly: "We don't do that here." Everyone does what they want, but the manner wasn't the most courteous. The fried dough, I must say, was good. The real problem came with the pizza: the dough and flavor were poor, and, above all, the bottom was dirty, a clear sign of an unclean oven. In short, the pizza was inedible. A ruined dinner. An experience I wouldn't repeat.

27/08/2025: We had a wonderful time at this charming hotel. The staff was very attentive to our requests. The room was very pleasant. The view was magnificent. The private parking was really convenient. And the grounds were very beautiful, well-maintained, and clean.

09/01/2026: This place disgusted me from the moment I walked in. It's really ugly inside, the service was awful, and the food was truly humiliating. I'll never go there again, and the staff was truly awful, and I wouldn't do that, so I'd change the staff and hire someone better. So, please don't go. THIS PLACE SUCKS.

26/12/2025: We entered this place mainly because it had seating. It actually turned out to be a pleasant discovery: the hot ragù and lard sandwich, pecorino cheese, and amazing fig jam. Highly recommended, if you have to wait to be seated, it's worth the wait. The staff is friendly and works at a fast pace.

16/09/2025: The pizza was delicious, but the atmosphere was absolutely lacking. I would only go for takeout. You can order by phone; they speak reasonable English.

04/08/2025: The pizzas here are delicious! It's a great place for takeout. It's not a very inviting place to eat in as a pizza restaurant; you're better off getting takeout. The quality of the pizzas is good, though!

22/03/2026: I stopped in at this restaurant today for an expresso. It wasn't a bar/cafe so they don't serve drinks without a food order. The gentleman saw the disappointment on my face and said, "ok, I'll make you one". He made this Canadian's day. Such kindness was very much appreciated by this lass!

28/02/2026: February 2026: Best pizza in Volterra. Crowded with locals who grew up with pizza. Interesting menu with many, many different interesting pizzas (none with pinepple and/or french fries). Moderate prices, friendly service.

20/05/2025: Perfect lunch spot for workers with little time to eat. The menu is not very extensive but it changes often to please regular customers. This is the second time I stop to eat and it is a good compromise for lunch. Excellent value for money

20/01/2026: Best hotel for a winter visit. Warm rooms heated with geothermic power. The whole hotel is a cocoon of warmth and comfort no matter what the temperature outside. Breakfasts are simple but with home made nonna's style cakes. Well priced.
