30/01/2026: Feeling like a warm welcome and discreet hospitality has become a key factor in allowing me to sit down at a restaurant and then have things to say about the hospitality of a place, its people, and, only then, the quality of the food I've tasted. "170 grammi," a pizzeria and restaurant in Pian di Ballo/Castel del Piano, was exactly what you'd expect at the end of a day of traveling, to relax and enjoy a good pizza (with a low crust and crispy crust, just the way my wife likes it!) made with decent-to-good-quality ingredients: eating well, having no digestive regrets, and taking home the fond memory of a place that hosted you with loyalty and warmth. This happened to my wife and I at the "170 grammi" pizzeria in Pian di Ballo/Castel del Piano. Thanks to the owners and, in particular, to the kind lady who welcomed us, perfectly representing the hospitality of these places.

25/01/2026: We were passing through for a weekend on Monte Amiata, and a local recommended this place for takeout pizzas. We tried a capricciosa and a 170-gram pizza, both really good. Recommended ✌🏻

07/10/2025: A large beach with both public and private facilities. Visited in October, a restaurant and bar, Il Braccio, remains open until November 2nd. There are restrooms and showers. You can take a long walk to Feniglia, where the beaches are free and have a more natural feel. This beach welcomes four-legged friends and is also excellent for children.

13/09/2025: We happened upon Porto Ercole by chance and had lunch at Gambero Rosso. Nice place with a sea view. Two first courses and two desserts with half a liter of wine. €90, too expensive in my opinion.

02/01/2026: Rude and impolite staff We waited for nothing, and spent too much A clam dish cost €28? Treated like tourists, even though we're Italian. They answer us in English, "obviously bad," even though we speak Italian.

28/09/2025: Stopping by for lunch on the way back to Florence, we tried two first courses: seafood ravioli and spaghetti with clams, both sold for €16 each. The portions were truly ridiculous, at that price at least double what we were served—four ravioli, counted, and no more than 80 grams of spaghetti. When we asked for half a liter of white wine, we were offered the house wine, which, however, came in a 375ml bottle, a 13.5% ABV Pitigliano white wine that wasn't even a Chianti red. They should have told us this before opening it and pouring it into our glasses; it was far too heavy for a light lunch. The service was good, courtesy of a waiter of North African origin, although they and the owner insisted on having a Bangladeshi boy who didn't understand a word of Italian perform basic tasks, often using obvious reprimands, which was somewhat embarrassing for the customers. The restaurant is a trattoria-style establishment, with attempts at modernization that haven't entirely succeeded. Total 53 euros, with two coffees at the end. I commented on the quantities to the owner at the cashier, who actually thought they were overstocked because they were too much instead of too little... who knows! Did he try to pretend they usually serve more substantial dishes? Who knows! We certainly won't be giving away an undeserved amount of money again.

16/11/2025: Five stars for the pizza. And that's what ultimately matters. Plus, I had the best espresso I've had out in ages. Definitely recommended if you just want to grab a bite or pick something up.

21/09/2025: I enjoyed the pizza 🍕. Everything was fresh and delicious, but the dough was too crispy for me. I prefer the Naples style. I had two glasses of red wine with it, which was also okay. The staff was super friendly and attentive 👍😊

18/12/2025: One of the best meals we had in Italy served and cooked by one of the best couples we’ve ever met in our life. Roberto and Antonia were so kind and caring when we rudely showed up pretty close to closing time. They gave us an amazing seafood gnocchi that was so fresh and filling and shared some of the evening with us. It was truly an unforgettable night with an unforgettable view.

17/10/2025: Gavorrano, a most beautiful mountain village in Toscanu Italy and the must visit small family restaurant. The most friendly and joyful host and wonderful cookery by his wife. A joyful evening mid October 2025.

02/01/2026: Traditional dishes. The Tuscan soup, tripe, and pici al vino were all very good. Adequate portions. Very good service, attentive and helpful. Average price for a cover charge, a first course, a second course, a glass of house red, a coffee, and 1 liter of water.

29/09/2025: A restaurant inside a campsite. I booked using the TheFork app, but even though it was still summer, they gave me a table inside. The food was good but nothing special, especially considering the amount ordered (an appetizer for two, a first course, a fried dish, water, and house wine) and the 20% discount. Honestly, I wouldn't go back.

28/12/2025: I went for lunch. The food was excellent. I had an appetizer and excellent pici cacio e pepe. To finish, I had two excellent desserts. Excellent service. The staff was always available. The owner was always available for any need.

03/12/2025: Two plates of ravioli, a measly plate of cold cuts, half a litre of wine and two coffees, 72 euros - I won't be going back.
