28/12/2025: An experience that exceeded our expectations, from the welcome onward. The staff who served us were professional, knowledgeable, and most importantly, friendly and outgoing. Their wine knowledge is impeccable; they masterfully describe a cellar with high-quality labels, all excellent. We relied, as usual, on the chef's guidance, choosing the tasting menu with exquisite dishes that introduced us to the authentic flavors of the area and their garden. The place leaves you speechless as soon as you enter, with vaulted brick ceilings and decorated walls, transporting you to the old taverns of yesteryear. 18/01/2026: A cozy and original place! They serve traditional Tuscan food with a wide selection of dishes. We ordered the mixed antipasto, full of cured meats, cheeses, crostini, and other specialties. Among the first courses, I recommend the tortellini with ragù and the gnocchi with turnip greens. Among the second courses, I recommend the peloso. The dessert sampling plate is a must: simply delicious. The service is simple and friendly, and the owners are welcoming and friendly. I recommend a visit!

02/01/2026: The perfect experience for those who want to enjoy authentic Florentine cuisine, with the constant feeling of being at home. The staff was incredibly kind and helpful. Despite one of our guests having multiple allergies and celiac disease, there were no problems accommodating our requests and ensuring we had a wonderful family dinner. The appetizers, first courses, second courses, and desserts were simply wonderful. Thank you so much for everything.

15/01/2026: We had an absolutely outstanding dinner at Borgo San Jacopo for my husband’s birthday back in October. The restaurant itself is both cozy and beautiful and the service was attentive without feeling like someone was hovering over you all evening. We were given the option of ordering a la carte or a choice of 3 tasting menus with the caveat that if you choose a tasting menu the whole table must choose the same one. We went with a tasting menu and really loved the number of courses that it allowed us to sample. Favorite dishes were the ricotta snack, risotto with meatballs, the lamb loin and the salted caramel peanut bonbon at the end. The mushroom ice cream that was served with the crudités was very interesting and we also loved the house made olive oil. They really made my husband’s birthday feel special and it was one of our best meals in Italy.

05/01/2026: Having ended up there after being bounced from another restaurant, we were welcomed and taken on an exciting tasting menu. The quality of the ingredients combined with the chef's skill produce dishes that are unpredictable and delicious in every way. The service was impeccable, with a professionalism rarely found, even at other Michelin-starred restaurants. A huge round of applause and thanks to Domiziana, Lorenzo, and Salvatore.

05/01/2026: A wonderful restaurant in San Casciano in Val di Pesa, offering tasty and imaginative dishes courtesy of chefs Federico and Chiara. A wonderful culinary experience paired with excellent wines. For anyone passing through, a stop at Nello is highly recommended.

28/12/2025: This is my second time at Nello's, and it's consistently excellent. The attention to detail is impeccable. The appetizers are inventive and inventive, and each course is bursting with flavor. Excellent wine list. Extremely kind and friendly staff. The atmosphere is intimate and comfortable.

12/11/2025: Visited here from Phoenix, Arizona while I went to an apartment in Certaldo, Italy. I wouldn’t say it’s the best gelato in the world, but it’s very good. And the location is nice right in the Piazza.

25/09/2025: I stumbled upon it by chance thanks to a detour from the highway... Fantastic! Super friendly owners, divine food 😋😋 The potato tortelli with lampredotto sauce were excellent, as was the sweet schiacciata with cream that was calling to me from the display case 😋😋 Too bad I couldn't wash it all down with a good wine because I had to get back on the road 🚘

It felt like we were eating at someone's home – warm, authentic, and simply comfortable. A place we'd happily recommend and certainly won't be the last time we visit!
