30/09/2025: We chanced upon this restaurant while walking after dinner, and stopped for a drink and to enjoy the beautiful view of the port and peaceful side of the fortified wall area of Otranto's historic centre. Based on that enjoyable experience we dined there the following evening; it was wonderful. It's a beautiful setting, the service was excellent, and the food was very good; I had a vegan dish, tofu tataki, which was very tasty and filling. For dessert we shared tiramisu and it was literally the best one I've ever had; somehow light and not overly sweet or gooey, just a beautiful balance of flavours. Perfect! Because it's a little off the beaten path it's quieter than some other restaurants in the tourist area, which was delightful.

We visited outside of tourist season and missed the buzz of a full restaurant but that only meant we were able to receive more of the chefs time. As a pizza maker in Canada, I had many questions and this extra time was a very gracious gift. We had the best Panzerotti I've ever had and 2 pizzas. One with the dough recipe of the Father (Barese Style) and one of the daughter (Roman Tonda style) we loved both and wish we had reason to stay and eat again. Only rooms with breakfast, albeit including excellent breakfast service from the two ladies! We had to sleep in our same sheets for seven days, and no sheets were changed. All in all, "correct," but not the promised highlight as advertised. The location is very quiet: when we arrived at 8:15 p.m., it was completely dark, and we even drove right past it, looking for the entrance (the discreet, closed black gate).
