10/09/2025: An extraordinary culinary experience! During my stay, I dined every evening at this splendid restaurant, always feeling welcomed and pampered, even though I was alone. The fish, always incredibly fresh, shone in every dish, with the raw fish leaving me speechless. A special thanks to Antonio, the owner, for his passion and the unique atmosphere he creates. Kudos also to Stefano, Francesca, Angelo, and Stefhi for their professionalism and warmth. The service was impeccable, precise, and never intrusive. 14/11/2025: A casual yet refined location. Vintage decor. The walls are adorned with sayings whose common denominator is wine. Bottles from the well-stocked cellar and liqueurs are decorative elements. Unusual, it offers seasonal home-style dishes with a keen eye for research, a testament to the restaurateur's professionalism. Owner Massimo meticulously oversees the shopping, which the chefs lovingly transform. The menu is distinctive. Individual sheets of paper held together with a clip and presented in vintage Alan Ford comics. The versatility of the individual sheets allows the offerings to be adapted and reshaped based on the seasonality of the ingredients. Simple and effective. To start, we enjoyed the smoked Picanha carpaccio with mushrooms from the grocery store and canestrato. The platter of pink and fragrant artisanal Andria mortadella "Lorenzetta" is tempting. The platter of cremino mushroom carpaccio stylishly accompanies the menu. The desire is then satisfied with a plate of sautéed Murgia "Sivoni" garnished with baked and canestrato tomatoes. For the first course, the lasagna with ragù and cardoncelli mushrooms is impeccable. The orecchiette pasta made with burnt wheat is rich in turnips and dusted with toasted Sicilian breadcrumbs. All this is accompanied by two glasses of rosé, a Susumaniello and an Aglianico. To finish, a taste of chestnut tart with chocolate chips. The welcome and service from the girls were pleasant and courteous. A perfect lunch.

25/09/2025: Kind and attentive service—that's the best thing about Oste! A prawn-based Catalana dish that has nothing Catalan about it, except a little onion. The octopus is a bit tough, and having tasted the dishes of my companions, I can say that the quality is similar. The price is typical of a tourist restaurant for a place that had (or should have) so many cards to play. What a shame.

26/06/2025: A point of reference in Taranto where you feel at ease: the beer selection, both on tap and in bottles/cans, is varied and thirst-quenching (important especially in summer) and is completed with the food side, where we found the taralli and their "puccia" very good. Definitely worth returning to.

16/08/2025: Don't order through Glovo because if the courier doesn't find the address immediately and Glovo cancels the order, the restaurant won't bother finding a solution, and they'll have no problem leaving you without dinner. I called them to inform them of the problem and clearly complain, and they said, "We can't do anything about it; it's not our problem; you should call Glovo." I'm not a restaurant owner, but in their place, I would have kindly asked the customer to pick up the order and offered a discount for their next order directly at the restaurant. Or, if you think a discount could ruin your business, at least be professional and show empathy and respect toward those who chose you!

12/10/2025: Let's start from the end: for the first time in my life, I got to the point of getting up and leaving a restaurant. Now I'll explain why. We booked a table with the assurance that there would be an à la carte option, without a fixed menu. We arrived at 1:00 PM, sat down, and the chef came over, hats off, and informed us that there were only two options: seafood or meat (€35 and €40). We didn't know what these menus consisted of; it was all a surprise. We pointed out that we had booked specifically for the à la carte option, having no intention of spending Sunday at the restaurant, and the chef told us that once we were full, we could stay (and thanks to...I'd say). Anyway, we ordered two meat menus and a plate of orecchiette for the little girl. Ten minutes pass, and this dish arrives, unlike anything you'd ever seen in the worst restaurants of the '80s: a mini knot of fresh mozzarella, a potato and spinach tart (passable, to be honest), a slice of caciocavallo cheese with the rind still on, a piece of bread with half a tomato, and a handful of sad, inedible mushrooms preserved in oil straight from a Soviet canteen. All of it drowned in an excessive amount of oil whose purpose is unknown. We wait expectantly for the continuation of this appetizer, but soon realize that nothing else will arrive. Cured meats, sliced ​​meats, and hot appetizers have not arrived. Never mind, we think, we may not have chosen the best restaurant in the area, but maybe the first courses will make up for it. Too bad that from this point on, over an hour goes by without anything arriving at the table. Not even the orecchiette pasta for the little girl who had been fasting in the meantime. After an hour, we ask one waiter, then another, but there's no sign of the first course. At this point, at 2:20 PM, on empty stomachs, we ask for the bill, determined to leave. Here begins the show. The poor waiters, clearly embarrassed, try to dissuade us, making excuses and saying they couldn't count us; the owner (the chef from the beginning) was serving, and he was obviously busy in the kitchen. After waiting for five minutes, I get up and go to the cashier, but even then, there's no sign of the chef. Finally, at the third reminder from the poor waiter, the chef/owner/cashier comes out, rather annoyed, and mutters something about how, with the restaurant full, we'd have to wait. I ask, politely and without further argument, to pay for the amount we consumed because it was getting late, and here comes the apotheosis: The chef arrogantly tells me it's 40 euros!!! At that point, I threatened to call the financial police and was rudely kicked out of the restaurant. A surreal experience.
