05/05/2025: A few weeks before Easter, as in the famous song "Quattro amici al bar", we were sitting discussing where to spend the next Easter Monday, when one of us suggested a small restaurant in the Alta Val Borbera that he had tried in the past: the Foresteria La Merlina. Driven by curiosity, we decided to give it a chance... and it was a pleasant surprise! As soon as we arrived we were struck by the splendid green setting of the Ligurian Apennines, a truly evocative context that already makes you fall in love even before sitting down at the table. Mrs. Luciana welcomed us warmly in the dining room, capable of making us immediately feel at home thanks to her genuine and attentive hospitality. It is rare to find such a caring person who follows you at every moment, explaining the dishes and telling you the story of this family business. But the real triumph occurred in the kitchen: Mr. Marco and his daughter Clara delighted us with dishes prepared with fresh, quality ingredients, enhancing the authentic flavors of the local tradition. From the appetizer of homemade cured meats to the fresh hand-rolled pasta, to the simple but perfect desserts, every bite was a hymn to "done well". Ultimately, a place where the passion for cooking is intertwined with a warm and familiar welcome. An experience we can't wait to repeat!

29/04/2025: What can I say!! Beautiful!! Enchanting, relaxing and well-kept place. Luciana and Marco are special people that you rarely meet in life. Food is a must-do culinary experience!! And the wines... excellent. I recommend everyone to stay at Marlina. Thanks to Marco and Luciana for how they hosted us, special people.

04/05/2025: Excellent dinner with typical Piedmontese cuisine. We ate cold and hot appetizers (excellent the giardiniera and the vitello with tuna sauce). The tajaring with courgettes and tomatoes was very good and the lamb cooked to perfection. The nougat semifreddo concluded the evening. There is no menu to consult and you will also find different dishes depending on the day. The service was great. If you are in the area don't miss the opportunity to eat here.

03/05/2025: We were here for lunch yesterday and went back today because of how good we had it. The owner is chef Fabio, a little crazy with a heart of gold and truly great. You just have to rely on him and you will eat the best of what he prepares. Thank you very much Fabio we had a great time and we hope to return soon ❤️

21/04/2025: There were five of us and we had an evening that was hard to beat. Everything was perfect for us: the atmosphere in the old monastery, the food, the service. The ravioli was very good, as was the pasta Cacio e Pepe. The veal cheeks were a poem! The whole atmosphere was wonderfully relaxed. A great service that corresponds to the price, but without exaggeration, almost family-like. In addition to the food from the menu, there were delicious amuse gueules, bread, breadsticks and dessert bites (Coperto €4). The wine list is also very nice and the prices are very reasonable for restaurant prices. Depending on the number of courses, you should budget a total of 50 to 70 euros per person (the 4-course menu is 45 euros). As I said, a wonderful evening!

02/06/2025: We organized an evening at La Pesa the day before our wedding. Everything was taken care of, we didn't need to arrange anything, just give a call. The pizzas are absolutely delicious, the local wines tasteful and the terrasse nicely arranged for our walking diner. We had a great time. The service was friendly, I highly recommend this place! Thank you the to La Pesa team

11/05/2025: We went for lunch after a hike, without reservation, they managed to get a table for us in their beautiful garden with a view on the hills. The food and the wine are both delicious here. The staff is smiling and welcoming. It was a nice surprise to find this perl in such a small village.

28/04/2025: Easter Monday lunch in a pleasant and well-kept location. The unpredictable weather forced us inside but only a couple of weeks earlier we had tested the outdoor terrace with great pleasure. All really good, but the special mention of the "Baked pork ribs" is mandatory. An unforgettable dish, a surprise comparable only to Jennifer Lopez ringing the doorbell and asking you to stay for dinner and after dinner. Young, friendly, attentive and patient staff, especially our "table assistant" who put up with us boomers. Excellent local bottled wines at very reasonable prices. We will be back very soon because at Boccadoro very simply you're fine!

11/05/2025: Se vi piacciono le vecchie trattorie anni 80, questo é il posto che fa per voi! Vera cucina casalinga piemontese, con un buonissimo fritto misto ( dall'agnello al latte dolce). Servizio veloce e attento, proprietaria davvero simpatica! Ottimo il loro vino rosé della casa.

25/05/2025: Being in Casale for a parachute jump, we took the opportunity to have lunch in the town center. Welcoming and tastefully furnished restaurant, friendly staff, we ate an excellent meat tartare, a delicious veal with tuna sauce and agnolotti with super white ragù!! The Ruchè wine recommended by the very kind Silvia was also excellent. Recommended.

14/05/2025: Refined atmosphere, excellent cuisine, friendly staff, we were passing through Casale Monferrato and the owner of the B&B recommended this restaurant to us, I must say that we were very well advised.

06/05/2025: Typical trattoria passing through on my way back from Liguria, I stopped and ate some amazing tagliatelle with mushrooms.
