The food was delicious, we were the only ones so the atmosphere was subdued when we were there, but the evening before it looked very cozy.

An excellent restaurant right in the historic center of the small village of Gavi, at the foot of the fort. A historic venue with exposed stone walls and a vaulted ceiling. Excellent quality on every course, from appetizers to dessert. Typical local cuisine with Piedmontese and Ligurian influences, and an excellent wine selection. Excellent service, and very helpful, courteous, and friendly staff. Highly recommended.

The dishes we chose were typical Piedmontese, certainly very good, but we were disappointed by the bagna cauda, ​​which tasted more like anchovy paste. The owner is a bit of a quirky guy. More than once, he mixed up the dishes between us and another couple (the only customers at the time).

We stumbled upon it by chance on a summer Sunday. The osteria is located in a narrow alley with a glimpse of Gavi Castle. We chose to have lunch outside because of the pleasant temperature. The very friendly staff made us feel immediately at ease. The osteria offers both traditional Piedmontese dishes and dishes from the Ligurian hinterland. We appreciated the simplicity of the dishes, which highlighted the authenticity of the ingredients. The Gavi from their cellar was excellent. P.S.: Our furry friends are welcome.

Friendly staff, very good food, excellent dishes, reasonable prices, wide selection of wines. A great find. We'll definitely visit again when we're in the area. I can confidently recommend it to everyone.

03/05/2026: Recommended by a friend, we tried a tasting experience that amazed us with the simplicity and deliciousness of the dishes, featuring flavors that aren't always easy to find. I highly recommend trying the agnolotti and the sublimely cooked cod. All accompanied by an old-fashioned apple pie. And real meat appetizers.
27/04/2026: The restaurant offers a compact menu of purely local dishes, with a focus on quality and freshness of the ingredients. We were particularly impressed by the vitello tonnato, which was truly excellent. The service was honest and genuine, and the price was in line with expectations, perhaps even a little less than expected. Chef Giorgio stopped by for a chat at the end of the evening. A pleasant dinner from start to finish, we'll gladly return.
