01/06/2026: We stopped one evening by chance without a reservation at this place, a cross between a rotisserie and a restaurant. The place is housed in a pleasant prefabricated building, but it doesn't have air conditioning, and it was hot inside. We ordered two peppered mussels with tomato sauce, which were good if a little salty. A plate of pumpkin tortelli, to share between two, delicious and handmade. A truffle affogato, a coffee, water, and a medium beer. The staff were friendly and attentive. The price, €50, was a bit high for the location, the setting, and especially for what we ate.

17/06/2026: We stumbled upon this fish restaurant quite by chance. The service was very friendly. Unfortunately, the food was disappointing. The mussels were tasteless and didn't seem fresh. There was sand in the spaghetti vongole. Contrary to the menu description, the fish platter was neither grilled nor fresh. For this reason, we unfortunately cannot recommend this restaurant.

11/07/2026: Excellent food, we had an octopus salad with lime, Taggiasca olives and datterino tomatoes as a starter, seafood scialatielli as a first course and finally a Belgian pudding with honours, we will definitely return considering the average quality offered.

25/06/2026: I was out on my bike, riding along the Po River from its source to its mouth, and I arrived after lunch, but they greeted me with wonder. The girl serving me even offered to use their magnificent pool, an invitation I had to decline to avoid the risk of not being able to leave. Highly recommended.

21/06/2026: A wedding dinner in a very simple, intimate, and family-friendly setting. Unpretentious, as everything was agreed upon. A must-try outside of a special occasion. Tasty, simple, traditional Mantuan cuisine. Worth exploring and exploring further. The idea of ​​allowing restaurant guests to use the property's pool was a great one. We'll definitely be back.

28/06/2026: A dive into the '80s and '90s with authentic flavors and a unique atmosphere I had the pleasure of having lunch at L'Osteria del Borgo - Zovo, located in the quiet and secluded Mantua "bassa," away from the traffic of the main roads. The atmosphere is truly quaint and full of personality: the decor is an explosion of vintage objects, historic signs, slogans, and posters that nostalgically evoke the '80s and '90s, creating a welcoming, informal, and tastefully curated atmosphere. It's exactly the kind of place you either love or hate, but it certainly doesn't leave you indifferent. Outside, a large and convenient parking lot makes access easy, a significant detail. The menu is varied and offers a good selection of both first and second courses, with the addition of some daily specials that enrich the offerings. We each started with an antipasto, featuring a selection of top-quality cured meats. In particular, the mortadella and prosciutto were exceptional, tender, and flavorful. For the main course, I opted for rabbit, a traditional dish that was tender and well-cooked. My partner chose asparagus tortelli with shallots, a dish with delicate and well-balanced flavors. Everything was accompanied by a bottle of Lambrusco, a classic must-have for a meal in the area. To conclude, I ordered dessert, a delicious cake, and we finished the meal with two coffees. The only negative, which unfortunately somewhat detracted from the overall experience, was the temperature inside the restaurant. Despite the ceiling fans, the lack of air conditioning was quite noticeable, especially on these scorching days with temperatures reaching 38/40 degrees Celsius. As for the price, the total was €99. Even considering the quality of the food and the uniqueness of the restaurant, I think the price is a bit high. Based on what we ate and drank, I would have considered a price around €80 more reasonable. In summary: Osteria del Borgo - Zovo is an ideal place for those seeking authentic cuisine in a charming and memorable setting. The food is excellent, especially the cured meats, and the atmosphere is unique. However, it's important to consider the excessive heat during the warmer months and the price, which, while not excessive, could be more reasonable. If you're a lover of vintage and traditional Mantuan flavors, a visit is still recommended! 03/05/2026: Last night with friends there were 7 of us and I decided to go and eat rustica... And we overdid it, that is, we tried a pizza for 7 while we waited... The appetizer... Pizza, 10 out of 10 even 15 out of 10... For our tastes... The appetizer was fried dumplings, it was 100%, then the women had tortellini in broth, which we tasted and were very good. We men had pumpkin tortelli... Adorable... Then for the second course, truly unique ribs, that is, soft to cut and fabulous to taste. With vegetables and boiled potatoes, very good... We gave up on dessert because we were very full, but the manager brought us some local sbrisolona for dessert. Well, I can say that it is truly recommended. The place is from the 60s and 70s but kept very well, like a small museum with old things to admire... The price is normal considering what we ate... we will return because it is worth it
