Restaurant next to the parade ground, in an excellent location, menu not too extensive, food is good, shame that when we ordered the donkey stew, the waitress told us there was only one portion, the suppliers hadn't delivered... Editor's note... We ordered lamb ribs, they arrived practically rare, we asked for them to be cooked more, after five minutes they came back, but the same as before... To conclude, I would say that the owner's behavior was not very professional, due to several arguments with his mother in the kitchen, which could be heard clearly in the dining room. They certainly didn't make a good impression.

A typical osteria in Sabbioneta. The platter of mixed cured meats and giardiniera was delicious, accompanied by crispy and well-executed fried gnocco. The first courses were excellent: the agnoli in brodo were flavorful and delicate, while the buttered pumpkin tortelli had the perfect balance of sweet and savory. Traditional Mantuan cuisine, carefully prepared. The atmosphere is welcoming and hospitable.

Nestled in the famous Galleria leading to the Gonzaga garden, this wonderful Osteria is welcoming and comfortable.
All dishes were cooked to order and uniformly excellent, as well a generously portioned. The attentive waiter took great care of the entire restaurant.
The salumi misti, served with freshly baked dough pockets, were superb. We also liked to pike in green sauce on a bed of earthy polenta and the tasty duck sauce of our pasta dish.
Wines by the glass were good quality and price.
When visiting Sabbioneta, this is definitely the restaurant to seek out.

If you need to stop for a bite to eat during your trip to Sabbioneta, La Dispensa is the place for you. A no-frills osteria with sincere dishes served simply: the agnoli in capon broth, which I ordered, were so delicious they never seemed enough, and the fried polenta made with chestnut flour was also a delight. The service also reflects the atmosphere: friendly, welcoming, and direct. In short: if you love home-cooked food, this is the place for you.

In Sabbioneta, the museums are closed from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM...
We really have to have lunch :-)
Gnocco fritto appetizer. Enough for two and truly excellent. We then enjoyed a plate of tortelli and maccheroncini with duck. Half a liter of wine and water. Recommended also for the friendliness of the owner who waits at the tables.
